    Just got one, planning to use it with my Helix, would I plug into the guitar in or FX loop? I’ve heard both lol

      Sorry a little confused by the post. Don’t mean where would you plug the G10 with the Helix? I’d suggest the same place as you’d usually plug in your guitar cable. This is what I have done with the Kemper and quad cortex. Not used the helix though:)

    I own the G10s. Works great with my passive guitars. However, with my MusicMan Cutless, even with the L shaped adapter it ships with, it’s noisy.

    • @samgoffenguitar
      @samgoffenguitar  Рік тому

      I was reading about this recently actually and it’s caused by the preamp in the cutlass. Someone tried using a cable to get the transmitter part further away from the guitar electronics. So something like this but a lot shorter
      6.35mm MONO 1/4" Male Jack Plug to Female Socket EXTENSION Cable Guitar Lead (3m) amzn.eu/d/bvjZoda
      Then have the transmitter on the guitar strap for example. Not tried this myself but it does make sense.

    How does this work though ? The docking station where I charge the small unit that goes into the guitar, do I plug that docking station into my tube amp and then I can play wirelessly to my tube amp, is it that simple ?
    And would this work in a small 200 people venue with a band where the bass player and the second guitarist in the band uses wireless systems like this as well ? Or would I get interference from the other wireless system ? I am a real noob at these things. Are there better wireless systems for guitar nowadays for the money or is line 6 still the best budget option ?

    • @samgoffenguitar
      @samgoffenguitar  Рік тому

      Hey! These are very simple to use - Yes, you would generally need to plug it in directly to your tube amp or pedal board if you use one. I personally have it mounted on my pedal board, or if using a Kemper, have it plugged directly into that at the back of the stage. If using my pedal board, I do then still have a cable from that to my tube amp, but am free to move around stage.
      Are these still the best? they are still very good and also affordable. I still use the same one and this video is 4 years old now. I use it for small venues regularly.
      Other people can use the same type of wireless systems and it should be fine. There is a channel selector on this unit, so just make sure you are on a different channel, and if you do get interference, just change channel. You do this simply by putting the dongle back into the transmitter, then changing the channel with the dial on top.
      Very simple, very effective and a good sound.

    Hello!
    I wonder - supposedly, Line6 suggests to use their separate power supply for the receiver.
    While using the module, did you use dedicated Line6 PSU or did you use pedalboard power supply?
    If so, have you noticed any difference?
    And other thing - how does the transmitter signal the level of charge during playing?
    Is it always visible on the receiver footstomp?

    • @samgoffenguitar
      @samgoffenguitar  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey:)
      So I always power it with my pedalboard power - either a gigrig or a cioks dc7 without any problems. No, no difference between this and the Line 6 psu.
      Manufacturers often say you have to use their power supplies and this is sometimes just to cover their backs if you use the wrong one and plug in something which isn’t compatible.
      The level of the battery is visible with the led on the transmitter as it changes colour when running low. You can’t see this on the receiver though when playing. When you plug it in the LEDs of the receiver show you how charged it is.
      Hope that helps. 😃 🎸

      @@samgoffenguitar Happy for you....I have two bad ones out of 3 . Just took delivery over Christmas of a G10TII and it continually Flashed RED 3 Times then Paused and that is all it would do. Manual says , "Out Of Operating Temperature Range" ...dah..in my Office ????? Line 6 said return it ...its a dud. I bought the SIFF AUDIO WS-50 at 2/3 the cost of the G10 and it has a much longer Range...lower latency 2ms or lower and works perfect right out of the box. The SWIFF Transmitter doesn't stick out like a sore thumb to get caught on clothing as it folds niclely against the Guitar. The G10 could use some improvements. The constant Firmeware updates, Fire Hazard Recalls and Reported fails after Doing Updates on Line 6 Forums would suggest you are one of the very lucky G10 Relay users.
