  • Great fun, you can even touch the asphalt if you really want to (Brunchenn).
    It's not the fastest, but certainly an experience around the Nurburgring.
    10.08.2013 BTG Time: 11min23, I think a high 10 could be possible without traffic and in ideal conditions.
    This is true bucketlist stuff :D

    Why purchase a Morgan Three Wheeler you ask? Because the driver in this video had a smile on his face from the beginning of the lap to the end.... Great vehicle, i Hope Morgan never stops making these.

      They stopped making this version with the S&S V twin, as the archaic engine could not be tuned to meet global emissions regulations. The new 3 Wheeler is going to use a 1.5 liter Ford 3 cylinder engine, and updated suspension, wheels, tires. It will also have updated styling. The V twin 3 Wheeler was inspired by WW2 era prop plane Fighters, wheras the new 3 cylinder 3 Wheeler will have styling inspired by post war fighter jets. So the new one will still have retro style, but be quicker and better balanced. I want one of each!

    This car is pure driving fun. The sound of the gearbox and the motor. Simply perfect. This video makes me smile. And a super driver. Not too fast and not too slow.

    No where near even being close to the fastest lap, but I guarantee that this was more fun and rewarding than almost any other vehicle! I've lapped Road American many times in a friend's 3 Wheeler. Very fun so long as one stays within the limits of the vehicle.

    I think if I were there ( have been many a time ) and saw you there , I'd much rather ask to have a lap in the Moggy than anything that was out on track with you; looks much more enjoyable .

    • @PJH1111
      @PJH1111  7 років тому

      It's very enjoyable due to the fact that it's completely different than anything else out there. The fact that you can touch the holy pavement of the nurburgring while driving on it, makes the experience completely different than any other car :D
      Biggest issue with it is that if you do go on the nurburgring, it doesn't take you very long to realize that you are the smallest one out there, and very unprotected. If you then see the one and a half ton GT3 steaming up from behind at an alarming rate of knots, it does scare you now and then. Other than that, it's absolutely ace and should be experienced by everyone with a love of cars :)

  • @jasperbergman6299
    @jasperbergman6299 6 років тому +1

    Could you do a 4 wheeled conversion? In theory I mean, the three wheels are what make the car after all...

    • @PJH1111
      @PJH1111  6 років тому

      Everything can always be done, you can even convert a Fiat 500 to a moped (jalopnik.com/theres-actually-a-decent-reason-why-germans-will-spend-1794673235). But doing so would be extremely difficult to do it properly as there is not a lot of space in the back, you would need a differential, a prop shaft to power the differential, and so on.

      Rustyrivet250 Yes it may be slower than modern cars with electonics. Isn't it a fun way to drive? After all, we can't totally rely on electronics.

    • @RapidChino196
      @RapidChino196 9 років тому

      Rustyrivet250 I see your point.With electronics, it can even detect the slipping of wheels with TCS. We don't even need brake rapidly as we got ABS.However, don't you want to get better control on your ride?

      Many many many many people focus on outright performance these days. Cars today have become a numbers-game, instead of a drivers market. People seem to check what's the CO2, what's the 0-100 time, how much horsepower does it have, what's the fuel consumption? All questions that are totally irrelevant to a good, fun, drivers car. Sadly manufacturers have noticed this and are now trying their best to out-number the opposition constantly.
      Nobody seems to care about the fact that a car like BMW's M2 CS weighs 1600kg without driver. And that's not a big car...
      Nobody cares that you can't order a manual Ferrari anymore. Most people don't know that BMW, known for building engines, does not offer a naturally aspirated car anymore. The new C63S will be a 4-pot (BUT WITH POPS AND BANGS YEAAHHHH) instead of a V8. The car that I looked forward to the most in recent years: 991.2 GT3, is a boring machine as you can't exploit the power nor the chassis on normal road conditions without going to jail. Sure, it's lightning fast, but who the hell cares?
      I've grown fond of small, lightweight and fantastic to drive cars. These are the cars that put a smile on your face, instead of a dent in your wallet just to be able to say that you own one and pose in it. You should always buy a car for yourself, and drive what you enjoy. Things like a Caterham, Lotus, Morgan, Jannerelly, ... those are the cars that you can enjoy for an hour on a public road after a stressful day, or for a week in the Scottish highlands. For most that don't live near a track and don't have the ambition to do trackdriving most of the time, that is what you need in life :)
