We saw you hold the bonus with the power of friendship, and we saw how it got broken by shenanigans. We saw when and why you did or didn’t defend Iceland. You adapted the strategy when a wild bot appeared, and you moved to a two point hold with yellow.

I like the unedited style of video better, personally. I enjoy seeing the spaces where thinking occurs, and the game flows more smoothly. Maybe I'm just being resistant to change, though...

My only experience with Risk before finding you was in college. All we did was stab each other in the back. After four rounds we were all so pissed at each other that the game went away... forever. It's been great seeing your strategy and approach to the game. Much love!

What I think I love most about your channel, and yourself as a CC, is the amalgamation of a genuinely decent human being, your altruistic trusting playstyle and tutelage, and the deep philosophical moments.
Then another player does stupid things and you lose it and tactically tear them a new one.
All things in balance leads to a rich experience afterall.

I was meaning your willingness to give others the benefit of the doubt, trust until proven otherwise.
This playstyle seems to cost your game at times in ways I struggle to recover from. Your ability to read players, and experience in recovering from these positions lends exceptionally well to the educational aspect of your channel.
Happy you've been blessed with the opportunity to follow your passion with this community, and the community is better for it.

@@lllFARMERlll I agree, it's much better to watch when the person has that sort of honorable outlook. One of the reasons I enjoy watching Pete's vids is for how he breaks down his thinking while he's playing and it's given more a lot of insight into the psychology of the game.

30:49 to be fair you would be a really powerful player to fight if you got both Europe and North America bonuses.
i like using this strategy (european turtle) but i would suggest having 3 or 4 on the south eastern borders, just in case someone didnt think it through and act dumb
When I meet noobs like yellow, I always sudo them but I guess it is wrong move since sometimes they recover and even win if others are noobs as well. I'll try your way some time and gather troops before sending it xD
Pete quick question my man, do you like or ever play true random, I despise it from the pit of my balls, simply because I have noticed it’s entirely luck and relatively no skill, I just usually manual everyone’s stacks in true random
yellow didnt do the math on that betrayal... they had a guaranteed 3rd plus position but they gave themselves 4th with that backhand to your position.
Haha for sure. I got a bit luck the bot hit them but I was going to always give them the lowest position after that betrayal

I think at the 34:00 minute you put yellow in a though position since he didn't have enough troops to do a proper attack on purple? (honest question)
Sure, but in that case don't spam "attack purple" and then stab the person in the back. He put himself in that position.
Even if he went all in on purple, he would at least get 3rd instead of 4th.
@@janezkarlin9874 I believe Pete, in the first position, should recognize that Yellow couldn't do anything against Purple, which would lead him to decide not to attack Purple or to launch a less extensive attack. On the other hand yes i agree, yellow shouldn't "stab his back", considering Pete was being very diplomatic by doing a favor to him.
He did. I did what he asked and fed him the kill.
I actually took out more than half of purple troops and didn't stand to recoup any from the cards.
Anyone who thinks he didn't have that kill doesn't understand the probability of risk rolls and attackers advantage.

The way risk dice work you always have to keep 1 behind so you're not actually rolling 3v6 it's only 2v6. Odds are very low!

They never capitilize of it. They just bother you with asking, Break the alliance, "Punnish" you for doing their bidding but actually failing to do so properly.. or they just throw their win or bargaining rights xD
Funny to see 2 player examples of poor diplomacy and ways to ruin your own chances at succes (numerous times). Sadly the people that need to learn this lesson never seem to watch these videos?

I played the Europe Turtle Strategy once, when I was playing the board game with my friends. Lasted for two nights. I was *Green* as well. 😉💚Funnily enough, I didn't have any plans to do it, but with my Ally Blue getting annihilated in Africa/Asia, and me being unable to save him, circumstances forced my hand and I had to look to my own self-preservation. Thankfully, I was ignored for the most part so I could turtle up and continuously fortify my borders.
Also, can we play Risk for free so long as it's the classical version?

I try to factor in the fact that I've probably watched hundreds of hours of really good players playing Risk.... But I think even if I'd never seen the game played even once these players would have tried my patience with how bad they were. Even with you speeding up their turns it was like watching old people fuck. Or try and tie their shoes....

i dislike the way this video is edited, like how it;s zooming in and stuff. it's hard to see and focus on the different material around the board
i take it back, i'd say half the amount of zooming in that you are doing. half of them are nice
ive been addicted to this game for the last week. But ive only won 3 out of like 40 games. I don't even know what to do to get better. Its frustrating!
