Can you replace the shocks by tilting the machine on its side and accessing the shocks from the botom opening (LG front loader washer)?
Only impediment to that might be having to insert blocking under the drum to keep it from falling backward after removing the shocks. The shocks hold the drum into place... so maybe replace one at a time?
I just realized - it's very possible there is a solid panel on the bottom of the machine which would prevent access.
Good
Could this cause a drum to smoke and heat up near the rubber front gasket?
the door seal is rubbing against the drum when it spins, you need a new door seal
@@RAPPATENGO i checked seal. No burn marks😞
Then it could be the door lock that's at the front
How can you tell if my machine has 2 or 3 without taking it apart?
Check the diagram
James X which diagram?
Enter your model number at Sears parts direct itll give you a diagram of all needed parts
James X thank you
don't you have to grease these?
You shouldn't have to grease these at all.
If these were actual shock absorbers they’d last more than three months.
