Great reaction Bob, thank you. It's not a new song though, it's from their 2017 album "Just Bring It". Often considered by the fanbase as one of their finest tracks this is it's first official video release. The only "Puzzle" is why it took so long! In my humble opinion I think it's a masterpiece of construction and execution!
Puzzle is a relatively old song from Just Bring It (2017) but it's one that a lot of us have been desperately wanting an official live performance for. Absolute top song in everyway in which Miku now plays an increased role due to her always improving guitar skills to go with her fantastic backing vocals.

I'm sure you can you understand why BAND-MAID are my favorite Rock band bar none? Puzzle is a fan favorite especially the acoustic version with Saiki and Mincho. Totally different vibe and emotional as all hell. I'm tearing as I'm writing this. Thanks Bob and have a Hunky Dory Day. Peace.
I dont think anyone actually know how talented and well tuned these superb women are. They set new levels each time and their unplugged songs are beatiful
I have tried over the years to work out why Band Maid have such repeatability. Puzzle isn't a new song but every time they play a song it feels invigorated and sparkling and shiny. So we have band who haven't had an easy time but have kept together and grown together. In the beginning Miku held a guitar like a crutch. She had no idea or great desire to learn how to play properly let alone well. Then Kanami wanted her to learn and take some of the pressure in live gigs and Miku took on the mantle and is now a good rhythm guitarist. But the reason it works in each and every song is that not one part or one member of the band tries to over do it. They do enough to make the song just work brilliantly, they combine so well and each play of a song is another chance to shine. Over the years I have heard great bands and songs. Band Maid are just up there with the very best for me.
Hey hey, someone else also has the same opinion as me!!! Miku and Kanami's guitars shine. Saiki and Miku's vocals shine. However, it is Akane and MISA that actually makes this song as epic as it is!!

I've been enjoying daily sound and vision baths since my DVD of this concert arrived last week. Although there's a lot of shots of Akane on the DVD, they tend not to last very long, whereas the cameras will linger on everyone out front for longer. I get that the drummer is in the hardest position to film but why no-one has ever used a straight overhead cam is a...well, puzzle! Love Miku's vocal harmonies over Saiki's strong lead vocal and the continous building to crescendos. That last burst into double time is a fine display of just why Akane is the band leader and the engine that sets the pace. There's some shots on the DVD of Akane's trainers/sneakers, and they don't have any laces in them - and also some glimpses of her double foot pedals...and her inevitable smiles!
Hey Tony! She’s a beast bavk there just laying down some awesome time and fills. I think a lot of drummers don’t get the recognition they deserve. These ladies sure can rock. Wow!

I have to confess that this formidable song had disappeared from my radar. The ladies have such an extensive songbook by now that one has to make choices. That's why I'm so glad they brought this brilliant wall of Rock sound back to the stage again. And then - did you hear those vocals? Miku and Saiki are interacting in a really breathtaking way - what a duo.
After over a decade of cynicism towards new music, a year and a half ago I discovered Band-Maid and they made me love music again. After this many reactions, I don’t need to explain to you why.😊
Saiki and Miku bringing dramatic vocals. And, Miku gets a riff for a change. There is no doubt that they are the best live rock band on the planet at this point in time; maybe ever.

When Band-Maid rocks like this, you just have to listen to it over and over: there's so much going on! Misa on bass is is providing her usual spot-on foundation along with her funk-jazz flourishes, Miku is providing that dirty 'Brown Sound" while providing deliciously sweet backing vocals. Saiki is at her impassioned best. Akane is doing what Akane does: play games with the rhythm, keeping it beyond fresh. And then there's Kanami: always changing up that backing rhythm part behind Saiki in between those incendiary solos! There's never a dull moment and you'll swear Kanami is camouflaging some really interesting bits behind the vocals. Band-Maid performs songs you never tire of hearing.
I saw them twice last fall and will see them again in Nashville. Their live shows are incredible. Plus, they are just so likable and connect with the fans in the crowd.
puzzle is an old song they rarely play these days. However kanami has been reworking this and some other of their older songs due to the improvement by Miku on guitar, this improvement has meant Kanami has been able to allow Miku to take more of the rhythm that the lead guitar had been playing this has allowed kanami to be a lot more busy playing with her lead parts.
This is the music they composed shortly after getting full control of their music from their original label. With the YOLO EP and Just Bring It album, the Maids immediately sent notice that they were the real deal and were going to be their own high-level rock band. They'd always been good, even great at times, but when they could do whatever they wanted - wow, they immediately set a higher bar and become one of the best bands on the planet. And now...a strong case can be made they are the best act out there.
As Miku's skill has increased, her parts keep getting modified to take more of the load off of Kanami. And Miku's sound has been greatly modified. Earlier in the band's history, Miku's pedal board was a volume pedal, a drop pedal, a tuner, an overdrive and a distortion. Now she runs a Line 6 Helix Floor Model to replace the 7 pedals she had gotten up to as she has also had a chorus and reverb added that you can hear, plus I think she also has used a flanger setting in a few songs, but I'm not entirely sure. But she IS taking some of the load of Kanami, to allow her to become virtuosic.
This is a special song to me! The collective talent in this whole group is really awesome! Quite impressive. And the synergy between the five of them is something I have rarely seen. Thank for supporting the Maids!! 🔥
They truly have an insane work ethic. It is a joy to behold ! They constantly inspire us to be better at whatever we have a passion for...and even mundane things !
Great reaction Bob, hope you are well. This song embodies a lot that endears me to Band-Maid. As you mentioned, the individual talent is amazing and then they just mesh so well. I love how Kanami and the rest of the band construct their songs. They can have 2 or even 3 of them playing something that is busy but it never interferes with the flow of the music. It would be easy to have the song sound messy with that much going on but everything they do serves the song. For them the collective is more important than the individual. This is not an easy song to sing as the phrasing can make it easy for the lead singer to run out of air and I congratulate Saike for her performance. Side note, you did get all their names correct (and we won’t worry about Japanese pronunciation 😊😊). Have a great weekend.
The thing that has always ( four years now ) amazed me about the Maids is how every ones part of every song is incredible. But even more how all these incredible parts come together and sync perfectly. That alone would make this one of the best bands ever. But of course they are so much more.

For me personally, the best song that was written EVER! Just Mozart or Beethoven are at that level... Just my opinion, i love the variety of this song so much!
There is something special about the sum of Band-Maid's parts. If any one of them were not a part, it would not be the same. These five polite, soft-spoken, almost delicate angels, come on stage, bow, say hello, then MELT YOUR FACE OFF. I saw them a few months ago, and seeing them again in 6 days. Thank you ladies, you made music real again.

From the band to the audience, and from the audience to the band. It's just nothing I've ever witnessed before. The ladies give their all to perform each song with every bit of skill and energy they own, EVERY song. The audience expresses their gratitude with all they have and so the love goes both ways. I'm an older dude and I've been to countless concerts. Never have I been so enthralled with a band like I am with these fantastic, talented, polite, gifted, demure, humble, beautiful ladies. Bob, I don't know where you are, but if you ever, EVER, get the chance to see them, even if you have to travel, do it, do it. You will not regret.

I love the guitar part; it reminds me of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” and “The Spirit of Radio” by Rush. Also, I love that the maids write in a way that gives Miku plenty of time to shine. A lot of rhythm guitarists historically don’t get that even if they’re doing backing vocals, but while they’re playing Miku is given just as much spotlight and importance as the other four. I love the balance between all five members. I feel the same way about Wagakki Band and Gacharic Spin in that those three groups achieve a perfect balance between all of their members.
If you can find the acoustic version of this song, you will love it. It is one of the most powerful pieces of music I have ever heard. Even if you don't react to it, listen to it on your own. You'll be glad you did.

Kanami can do bends very well. Speed well. Slides. Finger tapping. Sweep picking..... what cant she do. If she ever put a metal slide on her finder and did slide guitar im sure it would be brilliant. Bass.. drums.. rhythm guitar. Vocals. They cant miss

Kanami and Saiki alone. The lyrics, despite being in Japanese, hit you in a completely different way with that version, if you can find it. Just for your own listening pleasure.
This song has an acoustic live version. It is finished in a completely different song with the same content. Here, anger and regret are expressed, and regret and loneliness are expressed in the acoustic version. It turns out that Band-Maid is an artist.Please listen to it.
I think I read comments that this song was intended to be an instrumental,but Saiki wanted lyrics written for it. I'm not sure if she or Miku wrote them. This mv is so much better than the original one they released a while back.

A new suggestion: an old group, the group itself is almost 14 years old, but they renew themselves from time to time. The new lineup is doing things fantastic - they have their own music stile - Gacharic Spin - try: (latest song), , or . they are different from Band Maid and Lovebites, but good musicians (from Japan, an all female band).

I still prefer Studio Coast 2017 version of Puzzle. Not by far, I’d say this version 100% then Coast is 115%.

I can see why. All of their songs are so good.
As you said, every member of this band has an extraordinary sense of rhythm and never loses sight of the frequent changes in tempo and beat.

There is something special about the sum of Band-Maid's parts. If any one of them were not a part, it would not be the same. These five polite, soft-spoken, almost delicate angels, come on stage, bow, say hello, then MELT YOUR FACE OFF. I saw them a few months ago, and seeing them again in 6 days. Thank you ladies, you made music real again.
Wow Edward you are so lucky man. I wish I could see them. They are so far away and I’m still in school teaching right now. It’s nice to hear that they act that way. They gave me that vibe just watching their videos. I love when someone acts humble.
@@bobcieslinski Ok I've seen them twice now. Let me try to describe the experience. From the moment they walk on stage you can feel the love flowing,,, both ways. From the band to the audience, and from the audience to the band. It's just nothing I've ever witnessed before. The ladies give their all to perform each song with every bit of skill and energy they own, EVERY song. The audience expresses their gratitude with all they have and so the love goes both ways. I'm an older dude and I've been to countless concerts. Never have I been so enthralled with a band like I am with these fantastic, talented, polite, gifted, demure, humble, beautiful ladies. Bob, I don't know where you are, but if you ever, EVER, get the chance to see them, even if you have to travel, do it, do it. You will not regret.

Wow they are both pretty fast.
I love the guitar part; it reminds me of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” and “The Spirit of Radio” by Rush. Also, I love that the maids write in a way that gives Miku plenty of time to shine. A lot of rhythm guitarists historically don’t get that even if they’re doing backing vocals, but while they’re playing Miku is given just as much spotlight and importance as the other four. I love the balance between all five members. I feel the same way about Wagakki Band and Gacharic Spin in that those three groups achieve a perfect balance between all of their members.

Kanami can do bends very well. Speed well. Slides. Finger tapping. Sweep picking..... what cant she do. If she ever put a metal slide on her finder and did slide guitar im sure it would be brilliant. Bass.. drums.. rhythm guitar. Vocals. They cant miss

With all due respect, this is not a new Band-Maid song, but a new video. "Puzzle" was released in 2017 on their "Just Bring It" album. Though we are sad when a Band-Maid song must end, at least Akane makes the end enjoyable. Thanks for supporting the Maids

With that in mind, I’ll let you know that there’s a very powerful acoustic version of this song. Kanami and Saiki alone. The lyrics, despite being in Japanese, hit you in a completely different way with that version, if you can find it. Just for your own listening pleasure.

I think I read comments that this song was intended to be an instrumental,but Saiki wanted lyrics written for it. I'm not sure if she or Miku wrote them. This mv is so much better than the original one they released a while back.
You might be thinking of “Play”. That was played live as an instrumental but showed up on the album with lyrics, per Saikis’ request.

A new suggestion: an old group, the group itself is almost 14 years old, but they renew themselves from time to time. The new lineup is doing things fantastic - they have their own music stile - Gacharic Spin - try: (latest song), , or . they are different from Band Maid and Lovebites, but good musicians (from Japan, an all female band).
