I always have to listen to songs from VoicePlay (and Home Free) a few times to catch all of the nuances. Their arrangements always amaze me.

I love this version of this song that Voiceplay’s done.Absolutely amazing
This is such a marvelous version, so musical. Deejay was on the Broadway tour of Hamilton over a year ago when they were in Orlando. Deejay came over and sang with them doing Christmas Don't Be Late (The Chipmunk Song) as well as In My Room (Beach Boys). He's also done Man in the Mirror when J None was leaving for the US Navy, You're My Best Friend, Butter which is total fun, and Bang!. VoicePlay certainly has the uncanny ability to bring on different vocalists and make it all work like magic. I enjoy your reactions so I'm hoping you'll add some more of VoicePlay and Geoff (who just did Imagine)

Geoff did amaze with this arraignment. I love the jazzy sexy felling of this cover. This and Man in the Mirror are amazing MJ covers. I love how they kept it with no beatboxing until halfway through. DJ is a great pick for this one. Loved the reaction.

They sure are. I’ll tell you the hard thing about this channel is trying to get to all of the music. There’s just so much and I want to hear it all. I just love the harmonies and Geoff’s voice will always been one of the things that makes me smile.
This is such a cool, sexy version of this song. Love it! I always say that VoicePlay are so much more than just singers. I beliueve this was a Geoff arrangement. And fabulous.

They are just incredible harmonizers and I love Geoff’s voice.
VoicePlay always does a great job, yeah great harmonies. Sounded really good despite me not being a big fan of this song in the first place. This just came out last month, but they have posted another song since, a cover of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" feat Ashley Diane. You saw her in VP's cover of "We Don't Talk About Bruno". Their version of Aerosmith's 'Dream On" feat Omar Cardona is another awesome one to check out. And more solo Geoff, for your bass fix lol, his cover of "16 Tons"
Thanks Chris! Michael Jackson sure isn’t for everyone but I was a fan for along time. Yep he became a weirdo but still could make a song that sold millions. I really love Geoff’s voice. Those bass voices just make me lose my mind. Wow!
I think you pretty well summed it all up! For some reason I thought it as interesting how they all used their hands differently in expressing the singing. As always they did a great job!
Such a fun one. I loved Micheal Jackson so I had to take a listen to this one. When I was a kid they used to out records in the back of cereal boxes and The Jackson Five would be on the box a lot.
Just to let you know that Geoff, Layne and Eli take turns in choosing and arranging songs.This one was arranged by Geoff. When you get to know them better it's possible to get a good idea who has done the arrangement but they are all incredible. Thanks so much for your informative reactions.

Ps. It would be fun to hear what you think of the Swedish acapella group, The real group, and the Count Basie medley they did many years ago. I think they really manage to catch the feeling of the original music. Just as you mention here about Voiceplay. Also they have a great bass singer I think 🙂 As well as a soprano with a beautiful voice. Well really I like all five voices!

I saw your reaction to Hall of the Mountain King and I'd really like to see your analysis of their sequel Classical Chaos. 14 classical songs arranged by Layne - it's Looney Tunes keep-away. They shot it early to take advantage of Layne and Tony (Pattycake Productions) having to bring 30 trees into the studio for a Villain's Lair episode 😂

Historically, Geoff and Layne split the arrangements pretty evenly, with a couple done by Eli: now Eli is formally jumping into the mix and will be doing a third going forward.

While I always enjoyed the original, at this point in my life, I prefer this more subtly sexy version. It would’ve been simple for them to take the easy road and do more of a copy, especially since DeeJay’s voice is so close to MJ‘s. But in typical VoicePlay fashion, they made it their own and at least in this old ladies opinion it’s an upgrade.
We just got a peek of the one coming out soon, it is very much featuring Geoff. A bit more theatrical😂😂.
If you have not seen their Classical Chaos, which was a sequel to their Hall of the Mountain King from last year, I strongly recommend it. 12 pieces of classical music squished together, updated, turned upside down and given the full Layne Stein, a.k.a. slightly crazy, treatment!
And you’ve missed some truly spectacular pieces by Geoff. I have a hard time deciding which is my favorite, but I truly appreciate his cover of John Lennon’s Imagine. Just as it was back when it was originally issued, it’s particularly relevant these days.
Voice Play is always awesome, but it’s most often Layne and Geoff doing the arrangements, rather than Eli. ❤️🎶

Just found your channel -- I love modern a cappella! May I suggest that you react to a less-well-known (but Grammy-nominated) group, Kings Return? They do R&B, pop, jazz, gospel, and classic songs from vocal repertoire. Their recent cover of Sir Duke is a good place to start. My fav is their rendition (in a stairwell) of Schubert's Ave Maria with a killer arrangement by Rob Dietz.
