Props to Kris for recording this in 1950s and waiting 70 years just to upload it

Yes, you looked very beautiful
Literally so true she is so beautiful in every way 💕💕
agreed!
100% facts! Always gorgeous looking indeed
Will keep Bologna Cake in mind. Ranch cream cheese sounds great
Kris went through all five stages of grief with the bananas 💀
Okay, so the collab I didn't know I needed but now require is with Kris and Dylan Hollis. That much chaotic energy in one kitchen? Yes, please!
Oh hell yeah +100000
WE NEED TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN
oh hell yeah we need that !!
Agreeeeeeeee!
My god yes ❤
Kris: "Why are my knives so dull?"
Also Kris: Cutting things directly on a marble countertop.😛
Came to say that, lol
And noticing it while using said knife to open a package. Which will also make knives dull.
Lol
I see so many UA-camrs do that and I just cringe
@@MsBluebot nobody cares
Kris: This would be so good with crackers
*realizes the recipe calls for crackers*
Kris: DAMNIT
😂😂😂
The pack of ranch actually refers to dry ranch mix that you can usually find near the ready made dressings. You’re doing great though! I’ve used pre-made ranch in a pinch but it turns out runnier.
And a pack of cream cheese is a brick in foil. Usually 6-8oz
When Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing (tm) first came out, you couldn't buy in bottles. It came in packets.
You added the packet to your own buttermilk to make the dressing.
The hair and the outfit gave off such a Lucille Ball vibe
*NOTE* for anyone who might try the potato fudge - use three _whole squares_ of the Baker's chocolate. Kris only used one square (four rectangles). The Baker's brand made it confusing by subdividing the actual squares into the smaller rectangles.
Yep.
yeah.@@TherealDanielleNelson
Oh thanks😊
Yeah! But at least it still turned out good!
Oooh, that makes a difference. It may be why it didn't set the way she wanted. I am totally going to test some of these recipes, including this one in particular. Thanks for this info.
Kris: "Why are all my knives so blunt??"
Also Kris: *Cutting vegetables on the countertop and not a chopping board*
Yep, noticed that too😂
Lmaooo that's definitely why!! 🤣🤣🤣 I hope she sees the comments and takes the advice 😅

LOL def fawk, because next step was to "plow" the potatos. LOL
I love how for exactly ONE instance of cutting, Kris uses a cutting board, but otherwise just cuts on the counter lmao
And wonders why her knives are dull lol
Lol, I so came here to say that!
"I feel adorable" YOU ARE ADORABLE GIRL!!! SO CUTE!!
XD the collab between Kris and Dillan we never knew we needed.
A friend lived through the 1910s (born in 1914) and through the 50s and I can just picture her doing this exact video with her kids. hell she still cooks like this, all over the damn place 12 different things going in the kitchen at once and powdered sugar everywhere. Mainly cause she's old, but also cause she's got kids, grandkids and foster kids, constantly going every which way wanting something. its like the Trace Adkins song, phone's ringing dogs are barks, one kids crying one kids screaming, but times 7. It's a madhouse of fun and no arguing and screaming over there.
side note: my mom always had cream cheese frosting on all of my birthday cakes as a kid and there was never any leftovers after a party.
Jay really pulled out all the stops in the sound effects department for this video! Well done, Jay! Chopping, mashing, wobbling, dripping, everything sounded perfect.
And the vintage-look effects were fun, too! And all the vintage commercials and clips?
Extra kudos for the editing on today's video- even more than usual. Great job, man!
Also the fart as she’s opening the Cheese Whiz. Because I’m a child.
Just the intro had me like dam Jays gonna need a raise lol
@@willj24 it was perfect timing. Got me rolling 😂
Yes!!
Tip: For the fudge you want to keep adding powdered sugar until it's not so runny. And in that recipe, the potato is only acting as a neutral filler and a starch agent so you want to mash if very well, ricing it if you have a ricer.
Wow, like potato frosting.
Also pro tip if you want to work less After ricing the potatos put it in a pot and Cook out the water from boiling. (Or bake the potato)
@@Poisonieer wow super interesting! The sugar is always a problem, but potatoes 🥔 are vitamins & fiber.
I wonder if sweet potatoes 🍠 would work for thanksgiving, not a blank canvas, would taste like sweet potato.
I would have used an electric mixer/beater. That's how many people make mashed potatoes and they come out quite fluffy!
Also the chocolate squares back then would have likely been 2x the size (both in the US and abroad, the US size baking chocolate square was bigger) so you should have used 6 of your squares which would produce a darker, chocolatier fudge
Fun fact, if you added finely diced onion to the recipe, the ingredients of the bologna cake are the same as my aunt’s Christmas cheese ball😂
I'd recommend using the cutting boards. They're there, not only to protect whatever surface you're cutting on, but in your case also make sure your knife's don't become dull quicker than need be. Metal, bone, stone and similar materials do make your knife dull quite quickly.
Amazing how Kriss just changes voices constantly... That is pure talent. Give this lady an award.

The Hidden valley ranch herbs and spices once came freeze dried in a packet. Which you mixed yourself into buttermilk, mayonnaise or cream cheese..etc. in order to make the dressing. It wasn't till the 80's that we could buy it premade and bottled.
I love how Jay blurred out the banana. This just shows how thoughtful and how good of a friend he is so that he doesn’t make Chris uncomfortable with the footage of the banana.
@@FirstKallmekrisOnTe-legram OMG YOU REPLIED I LOVE YOU SM
seeing kris in vintage style is just something else, i am here for it ❤
Yeah loved the dress and hair do
Agreed she pulls the vintage look off wonderfully, just a testament to her classic beauty. And fashion sense to operate even in archaic styles.
The way she had the attitude & mannerisms of the mid 20th century was aesthetically impressive. Also thanks & shoutout to Jay for his top-notch editing skills to make this happen 😭😲😎 ❤️🤟
It was so cute! "Not my pants...my dress. Let's get to it!"
Kris and Jay really went all out for this 1950’s vintage bit with all the commercials in black and white and recordings in old school camera quality!
I don’t know about some of the recipes, but I applaud the commitment! 😄
I'm here bc of that

@@Hezmarglive😂
Jay's editing was top notch (as it always is but even more)!
Girl, if only you knew, in my country it's very common for people to each banana with the standard lunch, and that would be something like, rice, beans, beef, salad, maybe fried eggs, and a whole banana to go with it 😂
They often are breaded bananas too
And honestly, it's actually a delicious combination
Breaded bananas??? Can you explain that to me as well as say what country this is?
Are breaded bananas fried or are they just breaded with panko or something?
My stepmoms side of the family is Dominican and I’m Puerto Rican. I was so weirded out when I saw that for the first time lol
“I’m getting emotional over bologna” 😂 same, girl. Omg I love you hahahahaha
The potato fudge is still a fudge recipe many use today, but they use instant potatoes/potato flakes instead of boiling potatoes.
And Jay outdid himself. ❤
I have lived in the US my entire life and never heard of it lol. Must be a reginal thing? I live in the Midwest.
I'm in the Midwest too and never heard of that either @@1faithchick7
I haven't used potato's in fudge but I've used them in potato candy. You used peanut butter instead of chocolate. I can never get mine to turn out right so I end up eating it with a spoon but my mom always gets it right my mamaw always made it for Christmas.
😮a lot of Sugar though
@@alicialawhun91 My family recipe for potato candy was to just make a potato dough out of the powdered sugar/potatoes/salt/vanilla, and then spread peanut butter over the top before just rolling it and refrigerating it overnight. Then you just cut the log down to bite sized pieces to serve.
I tried following a recipe once or twice that mixed the peanut butter in with the dough and it always felt like it didn't QUITE come together, I figured it was the extra oil from the peanut butter.
The way you could see her cycle through all 5 stages of grief like a god-damn washing machine, as she took a bite of that ham-bananahollandaise
I had an aneurysm trying to read hollandaise
Hahahah :D that's the best fucking thing I read all day. I had to laugh a lot xD
I have a few food creations I've come up with over the years. One I liked as a child was a sandwich made from a fried egg, pickles and peanut butter. It sounds weird, but it's really good, especially if the peanut butter gets melty.
As a fellow "ham hater".... you really didn't have to eat that. 😂 I really appreciate you trying it. 🤢 and not throwing up. Good job
Kris literally using a tablespoon to measure butter had me cracking up more than is allowed
The intro is a masterpiece. It reminds me of actual old cooking shows
Kris is truly my favourite person. She never fails to make me laugh and you can tell how much effort she puts into making these videos that cheer us up. Love you Kris and I’m so proud of you ❤
20:23 To answer your question, I'm a stay at home wife and I do dedicate a lot of hours doing everything related to the house, bills, taxes, cooking, more chores and other physical tasking things like going downtown to the market, or even far distances to get things done. It's actually quite fun and peaceful cause I get to manage my time and do things I that love on the side. However, I do feel lonely sometimes because I'm always at home and everyone else is working. There are days where I can't hangout with my friends as much cause they work or have a family, and at times you have no one to talk to throughout the day. So in conclusion and personally, it's fun but gets lonely.
Edit: as long as it all works out, it'll be fine. would rather be this way than to work at a place that i hate if im being honest. side note, i had a small business which only lasted for two years. not enough sales made. so im restarting a new one.
I love how Kris is expanding to every single niche community outthere!! Then I could just watch her. I'm gonna go make bologna cake and potato fudge now!!
she has to find something now that omegle shut down
Like the whole retro theme … lol
In the bologna cake, the package of ranch dressing is what they used to make ranch dressing. It's a seasoning packet, and the flavor is more intense.
I was going to say... the package of cream cheese is the brick and the package of ranch is a seasoning packet. I'm so excited that Kris did this but I also was concerned that she didn't know what a ranch packet was.
I luv how it starts 0:01
It is giving 1990❤❤❤❤❤❤
I kinda want to try making the potato fudge at 3:02, it sounds good! Thank you for making this video. I hope you'll do more vintage recipes in the future
The start was actually very impressive!! Kris and her editor are literally the best combo ever, they make shit so funny

Absolutely wanted! But was just expecting her to try a few of his grosser recipes. Love Dylan! Love Kris!
Kris, who gives us daily compliments: I feel cute! :)
Me, wanting to make her feel the same joy as when we get compliments: And you are, queen!!
As a tired homeschooling mom of 4, who loves her life, I highly enjoyed this content :)
Having been a stay at home parent, I can see how the bologna cake could have resulted from the psychosis of not spending enough time with adults.
They spent hours every day, drinking coffee and gossiping with the neighbors. I was there. Houses were clean and meals were home cooked, though.
Former stay at home mom (back in the workforce) popping in to state that I loved being a stay at home mom. But the hubby got laid off from his good job so I went back to work. And in the Bologna cake recipe the cream cheese packs are referring to 8ounce bars of cream cheese and the pack of ranch is a packet of dry ranch dressing mix. It makes the Bologna cake so much more flavorful because you can actually use more like a packet and a half of ranch to really season that bitch up. Now I am off to make potato fudge😂
The rubbing of the banana before you said you should do it out of frame after the realization set in had me rolling.
😂
Your expression said it all.
I feel like we watched you go through all of the stages of grief with that banana monstrosity... and now I'm off to make potato fudge because it sounds freaky, which can only be a good thing. 🎉
Kris could literally dress up or go undercover as anything and will still make my day. Love you so much Kris ❤
The bubble effect on Kris' face when she tried the lemon juice had me wheezing 😂
for anyone who reads this. please make sure to use a chopping board. it stops your knives from dulling fast by offering a soft landing pad and helps keep things hygienic, even if you clean your surfaces well and often.
Kris is HILARIOUS in a way that cannot be explained with a 1970's dictionary.
I have a 1953 dictionary and I'm sure that it does.
@@bricktasticanimations4834nah, she defies all definition 😊
I love how happy Kriss gets when she tastes the last one.
Oh yeah, your freedom is truly gone once babies come on to the scene. I don't think anything can fully prepare a person for that loss. I wouldn't trade my kid for anything and I lived it up to the max before I had him, so I didn't really feel like I was missing out on anything. I'm definitely sharing thoughts and feelings that most mamas won't... and it's debatable whether we shouldn't too! My kid's 12 now, so said freedom is coming back for sure. He's an awesome dude and I have no regrets at the end of the day! 😊❤
I loved every single second of this!!
"Please fix my marriage."

The bologna cake came out freakin adorable!!!
Be the Boss Bitch and host fun AF dinner parties where you can make bologna cakes and shit. Best of both.
The editing was fantastic Jay!!!
The bologna cake totally reminds me of party appetizers my aunt would always make. She'd take bologna, spread cream cheese on top, stick a green onion in the middle, roll it up, then slice them so you'd get these cream cheese bologna spirals. Those things were BOMB.
That is what it is for. But my foster parents would make it regularly just as afternoon snacks.
Pinwheels!
We make those with ham they're amazing!
Tell me you’re white without telling me you’re white. Holy fuck. 💀💀💀
my grandmother does the same with salami
Hi Kris - you did hold up great ... but I might have 2 suggestions for you:
1. Melt the chocolat in a bowl you put on top of your pot with water ... that way it won't burn ;)
2. If you have non-stick cooking ware ... never ever use metal utensils for it. You'll scratch the coating and ruin it. Trust me ... I did that before XD
The way that she measured the tablespoon of butter had me laughing my butt off 😂
Tip from a modern South African housewife. Steam your potatoes with the skins on. Then when they are just about done, place them in cold water for about 20 minutes. Once they have cooled sufficiently (they're not burning your hands) you can simply peel the peels off with your fingers. The water helps keep your hands clean while your doing this. and the buoyancy makes the job go faster. This is therapeutic and good for your skin, ironically. Put the peeled potatoes somewhere safe and discard the peels and water into the toilet. Easy peasy. I hate pealing. And grating. Always manage to nick myself in the process.
You know it’s going to be an entertaining episode when Kris is going to bake something lol
When the ranch dressing came out I had to giggle because I'm pretty sure they meant the hidden valley ranch seasoning packets. I only know about the seasoning packets from my mom using them to make veggie dip when I was growing up lol. I just love Kris, her humor, and videos. Her and Celina just both just make me laugh and happy watching their content ❤❤❤
Yes! I thought the same thing when she brought out the whole bottle, my mom makes a veggie dip with the packets as well
Being a stay at home mom is the hardest, most exhausting job I’ve ever had, but it’s also the most rewarding, worthwhile and important thing I’ve ever done. I would not change any of it and I thank God for each of my 4 children.

The ranch dressing worked, but they have individual seasoning packets where you can make your own ranch dip or dressing.

Great video Kris! Super fun!!❤
I have never seen Kris go crazy over something like this before and it makes me so happy.
I love that you actually enjoyed the bologna cake recipe and saw the potential in it instead of just hatong on it like most of the videos I have seen that include it. I always thought it was kind of a neat idea, especially with the charcuterie trend... There are so many ways this could be implemented and made into something very cool. It just made me happy to see you enjoy these things or give them a real chance at least and not just immediately hate on them like most videos even if skeptical like anyone would be lol I just really enjoyed the actually enthusiasm. Thanks for that !

I’ve been a stay at home mom for 20 yrs and raised 4 kids, got to twin 17 yr old boys left home. I loved it so I could be there for them. It is a full time job. Cooking and cleaning and the whole shebang. I do hand it to the single parents out there holding a job and raising their kids all together. Specially when the kids are teenagers. You have to constantly keep your eye out.

You cooking is absolutely hilarious. Its always chaotic and I love it. Your disappointment in the milk and 7up was great. All this makes my Christmas baking today seem very simple. 4 batches of cookies and 1 batch of fudge in and two more batches of cookies to go.
The bologna cake actually reminds me of this cream cheese ball I used to make with my mom. There's a few recipes out there but it has the same basic structure as this only made into a dip rather than a cake. Definitely gonna try this to share with my friends!
