Hey Kris, with the wedding AITA where they wanted nobody under 21 to attend the reception. In the US, the drinking age is 21, chances are the couple getting married didn't want to have to police young adults. Insisting that everyone is at least 21 ensures that all attendants would be old enough to drink.

I agree with you wholly - having children isn't a right but a privilege, and millions of people with shitey parents will agree. Unfortunately, no-one's ever going to elect a party that has that as a campaign promise. People will scream '1984' through mouthfuls of cheese puffs at the mere thought of it.
I understand what you're saying but wouldn't that be forcing people to have to take birth control and if they accidently get pregnant have to abort or put up for adoption. I hate how some horrible people can pop out one kid after another and people who would be awesome parents can't conceive nor have the financial means to go through the expensive adoption process. But who determines who has the right to deem you as to whether or not you'd be a good parent. In the U.S. people are so divided and a lot of people have extreme views. So there are individuals who may feel because of your faith or your stand on different social issues or politics makes you not eligible to be a parent. Children are removed from abusive or neglectful parents only to end up in one abusive foster home after another. If they can't even accurately figure out who should and shouldn't be a foster parent then how can they figure out who has the right to have and raise children. Sadly it just wouldn't work. You'd still end up with children be raised by a pathetic excuse of a parent and you'd also all of a sudden would have situations where those who deserve to be parents would be denied.

because it makes you feel like a quiet sibling of the family in the room with three awesome sisters; which activates part of your brain related to tribal activity. This makes you feel less lonely, which is ironically something shared by a lot of modern humans.

I think it’s super important as a parent to remember that things that might not be a big deal to you might feel life changing to teens. When you’re that young, high school really kind of is the most important thing to you. And I think as we get older, we forget what it feels like to be teens, so it’s easy to write off kids behavior as dramatic or over sensitive. But to them, those feelings are very real and it really does hurt when they get brushed aside because “it’s not really that important.”
As a teenager thank you for bringing this up, my feelings are constantly written of as “it’s not that important” or “I was a teenager once I know what it’s like” even if they remember what being a teen is like the different generations are gonna have different experiences my dad is gen x and I’m gen z and we have drastically different experiences

"The math isn't mathing" cracked me up. One hour to drop him off, one hour home, one hour to pick him up and one hour home again, does indeed equal four hours. I understand why she's hurt if she only gets to see him every other weekend, but the solution isn't to keep him from going. I feel like the solution is to ask to trade weekends. He can stay at his dad's this weekend and then you get him the following two weekends to get back on your normal schedule.

I feel the same way! I can sympathize with the mom, because I have a cousin who's son was taken from her by her ex, simply because he likes to see her suffer, so I somewhat know how frustrating it is to her to have her kid less than what she's supposed to. The mom in the story is being rude and she can get over it, at least she sees him.
This is the first of many issues for the next 4 years because high school has a lot of 1st’s and lasts and she’s gonna have to back down
It’s not like the dad would not give her another Weekend she just has to ask.

The first one lowkey sounds like she was trying to tempt him, and then played the victim when he didn't respond how she wanted. I can't think of any other reason she would have for wearing clothes like that in front of him in his own house.

Exactly what I thought. I wasn't sure until he described how she'd reacted after he'd asked her to wear normal clothes. Some people genuinely don't care and walk around half-naked when they feel comfortable but they don't react this way to someone politely asking them to not do that

I had a child-free wedding. I am autistic and the sound of screaming children or crying babies stresses me out and I knew it would ruin my day. Plus we had a small DIY goth wedding. If they had older kids (late teens), we included them on the invitation so they knew they were allowed.
I’m not autistic. I also hate the sound of crying children if I ever have a wedding I wanted to be at least 13+ cause I know 13-year-olds are gonna run and scream and kick.

It's kind of an age thing, there's a moment in life when you and your siblings are gonna be absolute besties and other moment when you're gonna HATE each other. Me and my brother are only one year and 3 months apart and as of right no we're besties (I'm 20, he's 21) but a few years ago we couldn't sTaNd each other.

Fellow former hairdresser here. I LOVE your technique. Ignore the haters! Babylights are so time extensive so I love that you put so much care into your work! That's not something you can find at any salon near me and I wish it was! I also don't live close to any of my hairdresser friends or hairdresser sister anymore and I obviously can't do them myself, so I get very jealous of your sisters. These videos are actually the first time I've watched someone have their hair done like this. I've seen it often in films/tv but it's usually already "done" in the scenes and they just have loads of tinfoil in the hair.

I just attended a wedding on Friday without kids. I was not at all offended to leave my 3 year old at home. It was kind of glorious! haha! The 21 and up thing is weird though, but at least if you have an 18 year old..they can watch themselves.
My only thought on why it would be 21 and up, is if it is in the US and that is the legal drinking age 🤷♂️
But yeah, an evening away from the kids is definitely nice

I'm pretty sure the 4 hour drive in the last story is because she needs to drive an hour to bring him, an hour back to her house, an hour to go pick him up and then another hour to bring him back to her house, which together would add up to four hours (if I got it all right), which is a pretty long time. I understand the mom's apprehension because of the drive and because she already doesn't see him much, but he's gonna resent her for not letting him go to the dance, so all the time they would be able to spend together if she didn't let him go wouldn't be as fun as it could be if she did let him go.

to be fair at least at my high school while Prom is exclusive to juniors and seniors homecoming is open to every grade so it is kinda he can do it again though the "first time" might be "special" but I don't hold the belief that any of the homecomings I've been to are particularly special

Regards to the wedding one, my cousin had an AMAZING ceremony and reception with a little boy as the ring bearer and the little boy wore glasses as was maybe 3-5 and was calm and cute. So not all kids are bad

Hey, Kris, I don't know if you'll see this, but I wanted to say thank you. I have severe depression and anxiety, my panic attacks manifest as seizures and it can be pretty debilitating. However, your videos are a great way to get me to relax, laugh a little, and just enjoy life and remember not to let things get to me so much. You have such a wonderful personality and your content helps me so much. I can't thank you enough for put out content and helping people like me.

I'm sorry that you're experiencing this in your life. I too have a few different mental health issues, including generalized anxiety that flips into panic attacks quite easily. This is debilitating enough, but I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you to have the anxiety lead to panic and then into seizures. Are you in a country where you can access affordable health care? I don't know your age, so I don't know how long you've been dealing with this, and whether or not you've got a good support system both medically and emotionally. It's so satisfying watching Kris doing her sister's hair, it's like asmr.
The last one is so sad though honestly. Kids need to live life, parents can’t stop that. They make mistakes, they make memories, and they grow as a person. Taking away what seem like small things can end up shifting their character into something bad. Don’t encourage trouble, but if it happens be there for them. Accept their flaws, embrace their strengths, and let them go to homecoming. You can’t reverse time, they will never get that dance back, and you can never change your decision. Just be a loving parent.
and i agree with kris that parents should get some type of formal qualification before having kids. it's probably hard to make it an actual mandatory law, but there should be a sort of govt agency that keeps track of would-be parents, especially those that routinely suck at it, so they could step in early before something far worse like child protection is needed.
if you want to be a parent, shouldn't you also want to get all the resources you need? a qualification course could be like 4 weekends or something and certified family counsellors can give some talks/Q&As about key things to look out for. the most important part is to provide contacts in case of emergencies and to make sure every kid gets a decent start.

For the space-themed wedding, I immediately thought as a ring-bearer, instead of a literal Saturn costume, she could have done something super cool, like a 1960's Paco Rabanne/ Pierre Cardin style dress with flat rings holding up the dress. Or 1940s exaggerated structure shoulders and a peplum in cool toned dark colors. I've worked in stage costumes, so my mind started brimming with ideas 😂 But that sister is the a-hole for sure

I totally agree with you Kris that people should have to take a test or something before they have kids. I've heard a quote once that I really agree with "all kids deserve parents, but not all parents deserve kids". I don't remember where I heard it from, maybe actually I heard it from one of your videos, but I strongly agree with the sentiment.
