I enjoyed following your journey and also feel you made the right choice to depart when you did. I hope you were able to reflect upon how much you had achieved by that point - so many ascents, the mountains, distance and wild camping! I also feel it's great that you had someone you could call and depend upon. I hope that you will be able to complete your hike when you're ready. Thanks for sharing.
@@WalksWithOlly Thank you so much! I'm really glad to enjoyed it ☺️ Absolutely! It was incredibly tough, but such an amazing experience! I can't wait to eventually finish the route 💚 I'm very lucky I was able to have three support when needed
I really enjoyed your video and found your humility and honesty in how you were feeling quite refreshing. There is strength in vulnerability. It also reminded me of my solo trek along the Cotswold Way this summer, when you were heaving your heavy pack on and the thought of walking with it for many miles, I felt your pain. I hope you can finish the Beacons Way one day, it looks beautiful.
Thank you so much! That honestly means a lot ☺ I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Oh wow! The Cotswold Way is a hell of a trek! Well done! I'm looking forward to finally completing The Beacons Way 😁 I'm hoping to do it next month if the weather is kind to me 🤞

@@joparham7223 Thank you so much! That means a lot ☺️ It took me a very long time to build the courage to be honest. It's never too late. I'd say go for it! It's such an incredible experience
You did so well! You definitely made the right decision to stop when you did, you've got to be wise and prioritise your safety and wellbeing. And no one wants to be in the hills with Norovirus! Well done and thank you for making this video, showing the struggles as well as the joys of hiking!
That means a lot, thank you!☺ Absolutely, I would've been stupid to have carried on in those conditions. It was an incredible experience despite what happened!
OMG, no justification needed for not finishing, how many would attempt to do that walk, especially alone, I am also Welsh and have only seen small parts of the area, by car, you are amazing, well done xx

@@TyroneOutdoors Thank you so much!! Absolutely! I'm so glad to hear that as I wanted to show the highs and lows. It was such an incredible route and definitely worth exploring ☺️
Thank you, great video, planning to do it next year. I was at the Green Man Festival on that weekend. My wife dropped me off in Crickhowell then I walked over the tops and in through the back gate. Coming down was a battle at times getting through all those ferns. You... did great! : )
@@karlostomy1 Thank you so much!! ☺️ Oh wow! Fair play, it was a mission and a half to get through them 🤣 Hope you enjoyed the festival! It's been a few years since I last went to Green Man
An oatmeal trick- you can pour the hot water directly into the paper bag. I put two oatmeal packets side by side in my plastic jetboil cup to hold them upright so I don't burn my hands pouring the hot water in. Then I stir them up a bit and let them set for 5 minutes, eat them, and let them dry while I'm packing up and then I either pack them out with me or they go in a campfire.
Me and my bestvmate did it and it's a real killer on certain sections. Well done for getting as far as you did. It's hard when there is two of you so I'm impressed you managed to keep yourself as motivated to carry on as long as you did. Good effort. BBC are the worst for weather. You go mowing hay because it's going to be dry for 5 days. You get back a few hours later and it's thunder storms and heavy rain. SAS train there for a reason, so no shame in bailing. Better to be safe.

@@Darkangel-A-c8z I don't see why not! I don't know too much about riding leggings or what the difference would be compared to normal hiking leggings.
