Synopsis
SPAWN : THE RECALL is the story of a former witch and her son, who try to live a normal life away from the darkness.
While they're shopping in a supermarket, the child suddenly disappears.
She starts looking for him, freaked out knowing evil forces are still lurking.
A security guard comes to her help but while they are checking on the surveillance cameras, something happens.
She can sense it, they are here...

why is it some random college kid with a tiny ass budget can kill the big studios...oh thats right because they are fans and care.
Don't dismiss professional movie makers, be they visual artists, editors or whatever. We are a large portion of people who care deeply for our job, and the product we are making (most of the time).
As long as it isn't some soul-eating dead end job in a kids cartoon or shitty tv-show, we do a good job.

I have an ambivalent relation to publishers and distributors, as they can have some genuinely positive impact on the production in regards to expertise and financing.
But damn it can be a shitfest as well if the directors and producers visions for the movie diverge.
Even though I am not in the video game development, I can't help but admire the production of the game Star Citizen. It is everything I would wish the movie industry would be more like.

Let me just say that entire Spawn reveal was incredible and insane, the way his cape moved to build him up into the form that was so freaking awesome!!!
That reveal felt more epic and larger than life than anything the mcu has put out imo. Spawn is just on another level when done right.

What I like about this short film, is that it does understand and even more so importantly, respects, the core essence of the Spawn comic book both narrative and tone. Spawn, although the main character, works better as a Boogieman that you barely get to see and that he appears at the exact moment he needs to, letting his supporting cast to be fleshed out in their own storylines. Congratulations to your team. This is indeed a love letter to the characters by Image Comics. Wish you guys all the success you deserve.
Spawn can work as both. The man has all the skills and badassery to eat up the screen as an action hero but also be the boogeyman that has an incredible cast build him up and his appearance, making the audience anticipate his arrival. All it takes is for the right director to harness that spirit
That only works in the later issues after his character and badassery skills have been established. Then later on, after he’s been well established, him becoming a “boogeyman” gives credence to his legend.

I've been a fan of Spawn since picking up issue #1 31 years ago, and this is far and away one of the best productions that's ever been made of the character and his universe. Absolutely incredible.

Tom Karampas The Hollywood movie came out in 1997 I think. We did not have the state of the art technology then that we have today. So it's no surprise that the CGI here looks better.

I agree with you on script and editor prizes, but the cinematography was pretty shoddy, almost every shot was a close up, and you never really get a good look at any of the characters

I actually learned about this fan film because of Mortal Kombat 11 where they made Spawn's intro inspired from this 5:36 scene. But oh boy, was this worth the watch! Good job to Michael Paris hope you've reached heights!

Its because Todd McFarlane wants complete creative control and none of the Studios he has pitched to would give him that. so, instead he decided to try and go it alone. but with limited budget he settled on a story revolving around the detective and Spawn is pretty much a side character.

This was excellent! It really captured the mood and vibe of Spawn and the SPFX were really well done for a fan film of this level. Spawn himself was just as intimidating as he should be, and that voice alone made my short hairs stand up. Well done, folks!

I appreciate the subtleties in this fan film. Using the horror film motifs and really setting the tone of this universe PROPERLY. There aren't a lot of exemplary action/horror films I am a fan of but of this next adaptation follows this type of formula then Spawn will dominate the box office I promise. Thank you for this.

BUT PLEASE pitch this movie to some executive or director, because it makes no sense how a fan made film has outshined 80% of the films produced in Hollywood last year and this year also. The effects especially the Cape are stunning, seriously well done on this.

With todays tech, you could have a pretty good Spawn game on par with something like Bayonetta in terms of combat animation, and MK11 showed this, a new game now would be pretty cool

gabeeen1 it will be a very different spawn from what we're used to. Todd mcfarlane has mentioned that there could be a heavy horror element to the film. this makes me think that we won't actually see much of spawn himself but it's to show how terrifying he was during his time in the alleys

Those two identical twin girls could be a homage to a similar scene from Stanley Kubrick's movie "The Shining." The maker of this fan film took such care and detail, that I didn't spot this detail in a long time. When I did, I felt like sharing with everyone, and so I wrote that comment.

I recently fell in love with the animated series, it's the most impressive thing I think I've ever watched not to be kiss ass and can't wait to see more from this super hero!
The Actors were also the crew. Directing, sound design, cinematography, everything. That's just amazing what they produced as such a small crew doing everything.
I don't know why this wasn't in my recommendation list earlier. But being a fan of Spawn ever since I saw the movie, I can say that this was badass!
I know what I like. And this hits all the sweet spots, I would riot to see this as a fully fledged film.
This film gave me nostalgia, chills, and a deep yearning for a full film. The graphics are great and I love this. Keep on making this kind of awesomeness!

If they make a Spawn movie please put Keith Davids voice for Spawn! He did an amazing voice work as Spawn in the animated series. Even though he's old and they may do a backstory use one actor for the backstory and when Al becomes Spawn just use Keith Davids. It'll make sense because he went to hell and became a hell Spawn explaining the new voice.

Not trying to argue but the movie was made in 1997, so its been 17 years of technology and programming that gets easier to have/use when they made this one. I would love to see a movie adaptation that had this theme/look and graphics. Not to mention people just know how to make better films know *hopefully* and using decent cgi is getting cheaper and easier to use as time goes by. Plus you really have to give it to some people creativity, I really likes the subtle effects such as the shadows creeping and a few other moments.

I recently got into Spawn out of curiosity mostly due to MK11 even though I don’t play it. Not only is he fucking awesome, he’s possibly one of my favorite super heroes now. He’s such an interesting and original character.
