How would you compare this compact SUV with some sport sedan like mercedes E class (e450 with 6-cyl. ) ? what would you choose if that would be your money : x3 m50 vs E 450 ?

That’s a real tough question! I haven’t driven the E 450 (we don’t have that in Singapore) but I’ve tried the same engine in the CLE and it’s a gem. Sounds great, pulls hard… I love it!
But an X3 and E-Class comparison is really apples-to-oranges. Do you have a lot of stuff to carry (like mountain bikes)? How about kids to drive around? How much do you value a more traditionally posh interior, like the E 450’s? I think it’ll come down to whether you need the extra space of an SUV. If you don’t, it’ll come down to what you think of the BMW’s minimalist interior versus the Mercedes’ more traditional cabin
@@MrChiaSG thanks for answer. In short I don't need so much space (one kid etc..). For me all comes down to : sitting position (higher..) ,ground clerance , b58 vs 6cyl.in merc ,quality of materials inside the cabin or easy of use multimedia… Anyway based on your experience (you drive a lot of cars..) what would you choose for yourself and why (between these two)?
Of course the real M performance with 6 cyclinder is good to have... The COE is killing SG buyer to seek for performance car, it just a dream to have it here. To be practical, just a X3 2L is good enough in Singapore Road.
Totally agree that the X3 20 is good enough! Although to be fair, it needs the same COE as the X3 M50...
It is soooo ugly it looks like they hit it with a shovel on every side. I loved the look of the outgoing X3 this is horrible. How can they make the X5 look so nice then completely ruin the X3
The G01 certainly was a handsome car, no doubt about that!
the x3 is designed for mainland chinese market. thats why it looks horrible now. interior caters to customer who wants their car to look like Asus ROG laptop.
@@TMS5100 that could well be, but the fact of the matter is, 41% of the G01 X3 went to the US market

@@TMS5100 oh man, you're absolutely right! I went and looked up the chart that BMW showed me at the G45 launch; I read it wrong - the US is expected to buy 41% of the *new* one. I put up a link to it below. China's figure isn't listed; I think because it is only going to get an X3 L.

How was the air conditioning? Does it have the same power as the outgoing model? Recently had an X1 and a loaner for M40i and the A/C was dreadful.
@1:25 actually the message is "cut cost as much as possible". the new interior is so cheap and tacky like a kia rental car. quality is a downgrade from previous models. this car is designed primarily for mainland chinese customer now, since most bmw sales are there.
Oof! Definitely agree that the new interior is not for everyone
@@MrChiaSG they abandoned the opening sunroof, no more tacora red interior option, no more rear ambient lighting. this is not an upgrade. i think the 2024 models are going to be come real popular very soon!
