As someone from BC and close to the Vancouver Area, it's absolutely despicable that fellow Canadians called him a Nazi. Nazis don't show mercy and compassion. That is a stain on us. He was a German, fighting for his country, nothing more. His humanity should of been celebrated.
what's also funny is that his family hated hitler and his policies/the genocide. unfortunately, he was still a soldier in the german army and, as such, he was duty bound to fight for him and his fatherland. i believe he was even conscripted (might be wrong on that though) so he had no choice regardless of his opinion.
@@tylerjerabek5204 exactly. unfortunately it's something a lot of people refuse to even register. they just see a German soldier in that time period and immediately think of them as Nazi's when in fact probably most of them hated what was happening.
If this is your first experience with Sabaton, you picked a good one. Sabaton's songs are based on history mostly military. You really should check out "Christmas Truce" and their cover of Motohead's "1916".They are both live action videos and I think you would like them both. With Sabaton's songs make sure you stay until the very end of the video!
If you watch Christmas Truce listen to the ending credits, as Floor Jansen sings it, she being the drummer Hannes Van Dahl's wife .. in the video Hannes is the blond soldier.
Sabaton is a Swedish metal band, most of their songs are about Military History. A sabaton is the foot piece in a medieval suit of armor. Formed in 1999, lead singer Joakim Broden and bassist Par Sundstrom are the primary songwriters , and the only original members left. They tell the story without taking sides. The current lineup seen here includes guitarist Chris Rorland (joined 2012), guitarist Tommy Johansson (j. 2016), and drummer Hannes van Dahl (j. 2014). Franz Stiglers commander had told them that if they ever shot a man in a parachute, he would shoot them himself. Franz felt shooting a plane so badly damaged, and unable to fight back, was akin to that. Charlie took Franz to a reunion, Franz felt uncomfortable and not sure if he should be there. Charlie told him that everyone there was family to the men he spared. What the video didn't show is that the band took the time to personally meet with the Stigler family at the concert. The Mom, Jovita Theren-Stigler, is active on UA-cam, and will sometimes leave a comment on reactions to this song. "Christmas Truce" is a Sabaton song that we recommend , and is perfect for the season.
Also drummer Hannes van Dahl's wife, Floor Jansen, is lead singer in a symphonic metal band called Nightwish. Recommend checking that band out too. Please try a song called "Ghost Love Score" , live at Wacken 2013.
Hello, ladies! If you liked this video, I have three others 1) Night Witches, Animated Story Video 2) Christmas Truce 3) Bismarck But Sabaton is the metal band history teacher you didn't know you needed! And just to clarify, Franz Stigler, the BF-109 pilot, did what he did because his Flight Training Officer had once told him, "If you ever shoot down a man in a parachute, I'll kill you myself." Franz Stigler saw the Pub, the B-17, as helpless as a man in a parachute. But that isn't all there is to the story. After Franz and Charlie became friends, he had been invited to a reunion of his wartime air unit, the 378th Bombing Group. Charlie then invited Franz to go with him, and after finding out what Franz had done for the Pub, was made an honorary member of the 378th. When Franz said he had done nothing special, one of the wives of the surviving aircrew of the Pub turned to him and said, "Look around you, Mr. Stigler. The children and grandchildren of the men you saved that day would not be here now, if not for the actions you took that December day. You did more than you know." Which is, in my opinion, the moral of the story: We never truly know how we affect others, or what consequences our actions may have with regards to other people. Merry Christmas, ladies, and have a very merry holiday season!
I heard a story that Charlie Brown invited Stigler to a reunion of the squadron, and Stigler didn't want to talk to the group. Brown pointed to the family members of his crew, grandkids, etc, and said "they are here because of u, you belong here"
Sabaton make amazing songs overall...and they spare no expenses!! They go all in ! "Christmas Truce" , "Bismarck", "Race to the Sea", "Nightwitches"(Animated) are other more than popular ones!
I hope you do more reactions to Sabaton songs. It's a great band. Fun fact: Franz Stigler was invited to a reunion for the Bomber group several times and one of the first times, Stigler was looking out on a crowd of people and Stigler said he felt that he shouldn't be there and Charlie took his arm and told him that the people in the crowd were the children and grandchildren of the men that he saved that day.
Sabaton does a bang up job with their videos, music, and teaching history. 1916 or Christmas Truce will probably get the tears flowing. Lady of the Dark and Nightwitches might be of interest because those songs focus on heroines.
The German pilot's TO had said that killing defenseless pilot who had bailed out was wrong and threatened to harm those who he trained who did, and Stigler saw the plane as equally defenseless
The way I heard it was that his squadron commander told all the pilots, "If I ever hear of you shooting at a man under parachute, I will shoot you myself!"
When Franz Stigler said "IT WASN'T EASY", I thought because of the uneasy rivalry of WW2. When Charlie Brown invited Franz Stigler to the WW2 Airborne reunion, many WW2 Airborne veterans gave Franz an uneasy welcome and one yelled "Nazi" to Franz. But Charlie was able to make Franz feel welcome and they became good friends. In 2008, Franz passed away and a few months later in 2008, Charlie Brown passed away.
Wonderful reaction, ladies. Check the comments from time to time because Jovita actually spends time commenting on reactions to the song. She seems like a wonderful person, Franz raised a caring family. Charlie took him to a reunion of the bomber crew and Franz was nervous and didn't know how he would be greeted. Charlie told him that none of them, family and all, would be there withou Franz.
Welcome to the world of Sabaton. They don't just give you music, they give you a history lesson. I would love to see your 3 generation continue on the road of Sabaton
If I remember right from reading the book about those two pilots Franz Stigler was an ace pilot with somewhere around 27 kills at that point. However he considered shooting down that bomber as cowardly an act as shooting a defenceless man in a parachute.
I believe he had four and that any pilot that got five kills (ace status) would automatically get the Knight's Cross, Germany's highest base award for valor (additional pieces like oak leaves could be added for later acts of bravery to increase the "level" of the award). That's where the line "Said goodbye to the cross he deserved" came from because Stigler never got another kill during the war and so never got the Knight's Cross.
Welcome to the Sabaton rabbit hole. All Sabaton songs are true stories. This song is solidly on my Christmas playlist. Another great one to react to would be Sabaton's Christmas Truce video and for your personal enjoyments Yarnhub did an animated story video of Christmas Truce as well, with actual stories from the men that were there, which is well worth at least 1 watch. Recommendations for animated stories done in colab with Yarnhub Night Witches Lady of the Dark
All their ORIGINAL songs are about true stories. I was a bit confused the first time I heard them cover Camouflage before I learned it wasn't their own creation xD
Hi ladies, subscriber from Oregon. Didnt check the comments but assume someone may have mentioned that Floor Jansen from Nightwish is married to the drummer for Sabaton. In their "Christmas Truce" video, he is the light haired fellow hurt by a hand grenade at the beginning and comes up out of the trenches to begin the brief "truce". She also is the singer at the end during the credits of that video. My father was a B17 bomber mechanic who had to patch up or part out the planes too damaged when they came back from bombing runs. Many never came back and so he lost many friends. He was stationed at Horham Air Base England for 3 years during WWII. By the way, they do a video in honor of women in military of a group of Russian female pilots you might check called "Night Witches" .
Not just the anniversary of the video, but of the actual historical event. I consider it their first Christmas song, with "Christmas Truce" being their second.
Another Sabaton Song that would fit "Screaming Eagles" as this is the 78th anniversary for the Battle of the Bulge (16 December 1944 to 28 January 1945) The animated music videos are all very well done "Night Witches" & "The Red Baron" are a must
Sabaton has a loooong list of history based music. A bit of advice, Sabaton videos often have dedications (in memory of...) and/or messages (war know knows no...) at the end, so watching to the very end is recommended. Actually, Sabaton have won awards for being educators of the public (not much money, but prestige), they have a history channel on UA-cam where they talk about the history behind the songs (over 100 at present), and why/how they made the song/video. Animated STORY videos, short history lessons with music videos in them, followed by concluding history), you will likely have enough explained in these to get you interested to find out more. No bullets fly you just saw. Night witches abou female bombers during ww2 and their success despite the bad equipment and discrimination... Lady of the dark female ww1 warhero and leader of soldiers. Red baron, famous fighter pilot in ww1 Epic ones (official not the lyric videos)
Bismark, about the sinking of the ship Defence of Moscow, self explained Christmas truce, about the spontaneous truce in some parts of the western front during Christmas 1914 40:1, about polish soldiers, badly outnumbered (just under 750 in all) facing 42 000 germans, they where BADLY outgunned desperately defending against the German invasion 1939. Uprising, the Warsaw Uprising during 1944. To hell and back: they tell the story of Audie Murphy (highly decorated) and his struggle AFTER the war, so about PTSD and drug addiction that returning soldiers can face. Fields of Verdun: the 300+ day long battle fought there. Price of a mile: about the battle of Passchendaele in WW1 Screaming Eagles: about the battle of the Bulge Royal guards and Livgardet in that order, they are partially intertwined and tell a story (Sabaton do that), both about the history behind Swedish Royal guards, written to celebrate the 500 year anniversary of Livgardet (Royal guards in Swedish). Unkillable soldier: About Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart. the acting deliberately simulates "plot armour" and acting in videogames/movies where hero never has bad outcomes to injury. he actually went through MORE in reality, survived plane crashes, escaped POW camp… served Boer war, WW1, WW2 and few minor in-between. Live performances: 40:1 from poland Uprising from Poland Uprising, live from Poland. En livstid i krig live from Göteborg Sweden (in Swedish but there are subtitles), very heavy again, about thoughts of a young man going to war. Swedish pagans, live from Wacken 2019 (with Tina Guo). These are just some, there are plenty more.
If you want an awesome live song with Sabaton you should react to en livstid i krig (a lifetime of war) live Scandinavium Gothenburg. The album Carolus Rex they released during that time is about a part of Swedish history called the era of great power (stormaktstiden in Swedish) from a time when Sweden was a much bigger nation with ambitions of expanding. The album was released with both a Swedish and English version, the difference being that the Swedish one tells the story from our/a Swedish soldier's view while the English is more from an outsider observer's view. It is the Swedish version they played during that show so be sure you have the subtitles on. I was at that show and all I can say is that you will not regret it.
So happy to see your reaction to No Bullets Fly and the other songs from Sabaton! All the songs you reacted to so far are my favorites. Sabaton is my favorite band. What I would recommend, if you want to see more, are official music videos of - Father, - En livstid i krig live from Gothenburg with english subtitles, - Bismark - The attack of the dead men, - From hell to back, - Versailles, - The unkillable soldier - Soldier of heaven, - Winged Hussars - The final solution - it´s about such horrific events that I don´t even know what to write. - Stormtrooper, - Shiroyama - Screaming Eagles There really are so many more great Sabaton songs - these are just a few that are among my favorites. Sorry for any spelling/gramma-errors, english is not my native language.
A good counter to this to really illustrate the conflit that must have encountered Stigler would be their video for Firestorm. In addition to the videos there is a full background for each in sabaton history
Welcome to the Sabaton Army! A very great reaction to this great story. It's Christmas so your next Sabaton song needs to be "Christmas Truce". All songs Sabaton sings are true and Christmas Truce is the story of the truce at Christmas in World War I on the western front.
i have watched so many reactions to this.. and i never fail to cry.. yeah, i love sabaton. they teach history so well and keep the important things, the men who died or participated in battle alive in their songs.
To add something. Sabaton is always making videos/songs about true war stories. But only those who have been confirmed by historians to be happened that way. Thats why the band also said they wont do any songs on "recent" conflicts as there are still too fresh to have historians and similar scholars saying "Yes that is what exactly happened". But they also have some songs that are not telling stories so those are "just" songs
For the complete story, read the book A Higher Call by Adam Makos. Sabaton has 6 animated story videos: No Bullets Fly Night Witches The First Soldier The Red Baron Lady of the Dark Christmas Truce (although this is best watched after watching the official video)
Have to agree. Higher calling is an amazing book and helps explain aspects of the song which are not obvious. Like Franz escorting the bomber over the flack batteries at the coast which would have brought it down.
Sabaton is an amazing band that tells amazing war history stories . I strongly suggest you check out 1916 and Christmas Truce both official videos. These 2 songs will bring you too tears . Also when watching Sabaton videos it is imperative that you watch till the very end including the credits . Great reaction ladies .
This is one video that can make every guy, and especially men and women who've served, cry no matter how "tough" you think you are. If you liked this one you ought to check out Sabatons song "Christmas Truce". Not only is it the best Christmas song made in forever but it's also a true story, like all war-related stories they sing about, of a spontaneous truce that happend along the front lines of WWI in 1914.
Sabaton is really an amazing band. They also have an UA-cam Channel called "Sabaton history" where they dive further down the stories of what they singing about. That a recommendation from me to you. All their songs are about real events and persons. They never romanticizes war, they giving you the true facts and horror of war but also the lights in it, like this one. I see you got a lot of recommendations already but a favorite for me is Christmas Truce and must also say "En livstid i krig" live from Gothenburg (see it with english captions on while it is in Swedish). 🙂
There’s a story during WW2 in the pacific where if I remember right Japanese pilots flew over an American airbase and dropped a note saying the following day they would come back and perform and air show for them. The next day a few Japanese planes came back and did just that. They did rolls and loops over the runway for a few minutes all the while the US guns didn’t fire on them and people on the ground enjoyed the show. After a while the Japanese planes returned back to their base undamaged and the following day the war continued. Truth is way stranger than fiction.
Christmas Truce is a most christmas song to react to as many others do, and its a story from the frontline world war 1 in 1914 where enemy gather together to celebrate christmas and go back killing each other
Sabaton is a band from Sweden. In many of his songs he refers to the difficult and unpleasant events of 20th century Europe. Listen to the songs "40-1" and "Uprising" from the Pol and Rocks Festival from Poland concert. Both works tell the story of the Polish nation during the struggles of World War II. These are not the only songs by this band that describe the history of Poland. As a Pole, I am extremely proud that the history of my country is so prominent in the band's work. For me, it is a great honor and gratitude to the team that is able to talk about it in such a spectacular way. Best regards.
I like that a grandmother, daughter, and granddaughters 1st reaction to Sabaton was this 1 A song about a grandfather shared with the daughter by the grandson I have a like for certain Happiest of Holidays everyone
Great reaction guys and a good first pick! Pretty much all Sabaton songs are based on real historic events, mainly military. If i may suggest a few more songs to watch I'd go with Lady of the Dark ( animated version ),about Milunca Savič,one of the most decorated female soldiers in history. Christmas Truce, about the unofficial truce that took place during Christmas on the western front in 1914. Or Sabatons version of the motörhead song 1916. I could go on and on,you pretty much can't go wrong with Sabaton!
Just want to fill in once more what others said.. Very very important to allways watch Sabaton videos to the very end. And all based on real events, and Sabaton never pics a side in a conflict. They want to to focus on the historical event and the people. Not the country..) Some really good suggestions... Night witches, Red Baron, Lady of the Dark, Bismarck, Defence of Moscow Love from Stockholm Sweden/ J
If anyone wants to read the book that was written about this with history on both pilots look up “A Higher Call by Adam Makos” it is an amazing book and it has stories from both pilots about their lives before during and after the war
As the Grandson of a man who flew in a B-17 over Germany in WWII, this story really hits near the heart. These ladies need a full dose of Sabaton. May I suggest “To Hell and Back” based on a poem by the most decorated Soldier in US history, Audie Murphy, and titled after his autobiography. PTSD awareness is still required.
There’s so many sabaton songs that hit hard. They have a history channel that goes along with most songs so maybe watch that first then show the song or show both. The last stand, 82nd all the way, uprising live in Poland woodstock, the attack of the dead men, the lady of the dark, Christmas truce to name a few
Indeed, it's true. All of their songs have truth to them. They even have their Sabaton History channel that talks about each of their songs and the true story they're based on in great detail. In an interview Franz said as he was lining up the shot, he saw the tail gunner bleeding profusely and couldn't do it. As he escorted them to safety, he also flew close enough so that ground weapons couldn't be fired, for fear of hitting him too. What a guy!! I HIGHLY recommend seeing the full animated story to Night Witches(the 7:22 one, the other one is just the song). It tells of Soviet women flying in flimsy threadbare planes and taking on the Germans by cutting their engines and swooping in silently, dealing devastating blows.
Sabaton that sings ONLY about famous events or people in history unless it's to a cover of something, such as 1916. but every song they sing is 100% a true story.
I am German, 62 years old and critical of my country regarding the period from 1933 to 1945. BUT as a resident of a country you are not automatically a supporter of, for example, a dictatorship like the Nazis. Likewise, just because you live in a democracy doesn't automatically make you a good person. my father, Born in 1924, he was a Wehrmacht tank soldier for four years. Nevertheless, he raised us to be absolute supporters of democracy. What they do shows what kind of person they are, not where they live.
Welcome to Sabaton. Yes, watch "Christmas Truce " . All Sabaton's videos are true historical stories. 1916 , is also a great one, as they all are. Ps. The drummer of Sabaton is married to Floor Jansen, the singer of Nightwish .
another video similair to this one that i personally love is Night Witches. Sabaton makes songs about history and brings it alive in such a wonderful way.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Sabaton! They do almost exclusively songs about wartime, but really they are songs about people - their bravery, compassion, determination, ingenuity, and the tragedy when such things are lost to the world. Always watch to the end, and when doing animations make sure it's the Animated STORY Video, as some also have animated music videos which skip the extras. I look forward to more...
Happy holidays and have a good slide into the new year like we say over here. Bless yall. Best regards from Germany PS: There are some short videos on youtube of a documentary including the pictures you see here. Its pretty awesome. And its cool to listen to both em talk for a little longer. Its really a piece of history and there are probably 100s of stories like this on all battlefields in all wars that there have ever been.
My Grandfather was a Radioman in the middle of a B-17 Shot down over Germany Just before the war ended. I never got to meet him as i came along almost 40 years later.
ladies you need to do the Animated Story of either Lady of the Dark or Night Witches i think you three would love these videos.Great Reaction, Hiya From London Ontario Canada
Great reaction ❤ And there is a book about that story and the life of Franz Stigler it's called "A higher call". I highly recommend everyone to read this. It is a really great book.
Franz Stigler, was taught by one of the best, and he as well as many other Luftwaffe Pilots viewed themselves as knights with honor and refuse to shoot at parachutes. Franz says this in the interview if you watch it.
Merry Christmas ladies!!! Great reaction!!! My first time on your channel. I see you've already been told about Christmas Truce. I'm off to watch that one now!!
Christmas Truce please - and please pay attention to the outtro soprano - performed by the wife of the drummer in Sabaton, Hannes Van Dahl. She is the front woman in Nightwish.....
Christmas Truce is another amazing story of humanity during war. There was also a movie that immortalized what happened. It is called "Joyeux Noel", and some clips of the movie can be found on UA-cam. I highly recommend Sabaton's song and the movie.
Sabaton is an incredible band. All the songs are about war heros, moments, and battles that'll always give you chills. I definitely recommend The Last Battle by Sabaton.
If you want know more about this history I recommend see Sabaton History Channel, they talk about this tell & how theh get the idea to write this song.
I am a new subscriber and the first reaction I watched was Grand Funk Railroad "Inside Looking Out."" They were one of my favorite bands and I saw them live many times and they were one of the very best live bands in the business but the critics didn't like them and despite their popularity with fans and their incredible talent and awesome live shows they never got the recognition that they deserved. I started going to concerts in the 60s and went to more than I can remember. Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osborne as the front man was one of the most memorable concerts that I attended in the early 70s. I would love for you three to react to the song "War Pigs" from their second album released in 1970 called Paranoid. Thank you very much and Merry Christmas to all of you and to everyone watching and have a Happy New Year.
Very good reaction and welcome to the world of military history taught by metal music 😊 Sabaton is a Swedish that makes music about war and soldiers from all over the world, without taking sides. They celebrate the bravery and sacrifices of any soldiers, having the phrase ‘lest we forget.’ If you want to dig deeper, here's a small list of songs to react to, if you want. There're many others and I'm sure others will suggest them. There's usually some dedication or other information at the end.
I saw these guys live in leeds last summer at their opening show for the tour to end all tours. Ive never gone home so happy to have tinitus. Welcome to the rabbit hole! Sabaton sugestions... 1916. The christmas truce. Bismarck. Night witches. Lady of the dark. Fields of verdun. Actually.. just about any they do.
Yes Christmas Truce and 1916 official videos are both a must. You should also take a look at the new album by Tarja (former Nightwish singer) called Dark Christmas. You'll recognise the songs but will never have heard them like this before. Official videos to be watched of course.
They do leave a few details out, after landing Brown passed out and they had to drag him out of the B-17, because of the cold and hypoxia he didn't realize he had been hit with a 30 caliber round and was bleeding out. The official account from the German side was Franz followed them over the white sea and engaged, and the b-17 spun in, which means on the record it was an unconfirmed aerial victory, had be actually shot it down, where there would have been witnesses, he would have had the knights cross for it. They knights cross had a point system, a flying fortress being a 4 engine bomber is worth 3 points in that system. He had 27 points. The knights cross is awarded at 30. So he was one bomber away had he actually taken them out, he'd have gotten the knights cross for it. Also that he tried to signal to them to land in German territory at a nearby airfield to be taken prisoner because Stigler did not believe that plane could make it home, when he realized they were going to make a run for the white sea, where they'd have to pass the AA guns, he made the decision to stay in close to the German AA wouldn't engage them at the risk of hitting him. It's also worth doing some digging, I've seen the aftermath pictures of ye olde pub, the actual photos from after landing, and the animation does an okay job illustrating it, but seeing the actual plane that banged up, ripped open, and honestly barely held together is a powerful image knowing the story. Seriously it's a wonder it didn't break apart on landing, the mid/rear fuselage was all but gone. The rear stabilizer was almost completely cut off. Not for a reaction but to really understand just how devastated that poor plane was, and why Stigler would see it the same as if they were in a parachute.
That Video, even if someone isnt into Metal at all, is simply an perfect Example of Humanity in an Insane, inhuman Time and Place. Its an perfect Christmas vid in my humble Opinion about going up and beyound for Others without beeing sure, one self will get out of it unharmed. Stay Healthy, Ladies. Frankonia, Bavaria Germany
Everything sabaton sing about is historic fact amazing stories told through phenomenal musical talent just a few to check out are " Christmas truce","82nd all the way " (bout Sgt Alvin York) a very powerful and emotional tribute to watch is thier cover of motorheads "1916" with one it will hit hard but its a stunningly beautiful tribute to all who gave the ultimate sacrifice and to motoheads "Lemmy Kilmister" have a fantastic one 👍 and to you and your family and friends have a fantastic Christmas and amazing New year 👍stay safe take care all the very best from Scotland to you 👍 👊

what's also funny is that his family hated hitler and his policies/the genocide. unfortunately, he was still a soldier in the german army and, as such, he was duty bound to fight for him and his fatherland. i believe he was even conscripted (might be wrong on that though) so he had no choice regardless of his opinion.

If this is your first experience with Sabaton, you picked a good one. Sabaton's songs are based on history mostly military. You really should check out "Christmas Truce" and their cover of Motohead's "1916".They are both live action videos and I think you would like them both. With Sabaton's songs make sure you stay until the very end of the video!
and bring tissues
Christmas Truce is pretty much mandatory. The official video of course.
If you watch Christmas Truce listen to the ending credits, as Floor Jansen sings it, she being the drummer Hannes Van Dahl's wife .. in the video Hannes is the blond soldier.
Also the live version of "En livstid i krig" from Göteborg (in Swedish but tere are Subtitles available )
Animated videos SABATON, NIGHT WITCHES, Red Baron,etc...
This was so interesting and I cried after watching this several times.
Joakim gonna need a piece of armor for his knee if he keeps bashing it like he does lol
Hello, ladies! If you liked this video, I have three others
1) Night Witches, Animated Story Video
2) Christmas Truce
3) Bismarck
But Sabaton is the metal band history teacher you didn't know you needed!
You did more than you know."
Which is, in my opinion, the moral of the story: We never truly know how we affect others, or what consequences our actions may have with regards to other people.
Merry Christmas, ladies, and have a very merry holiday season!
Thank you ladies, lovely and kind reaction
Glad you enjoyed it
@@KathyLuluandDonna In case you didn't know, this lady is Stigler's daughter you see in the video.
I heard a story that Charlie Brown invited Stigler to a reunion of the squadron, and Stigler didn't want to talk to the group. Brown pointed to the family members of his crew, grandkids, etc, and said "they are here because of u, you belong here"
It was not a British squadron it was an American Bomber Squadron .
Sabaton make amazing songs overall...and they spare no expenses!! They go all in ! "Christmas Truce" , "Bismarck", "Race to the Sea", "Nightwitches"(Animated) are other
more than popular ones!
Nightwitches, animated version recommended 🤘
@@karlojara animated STORY version. there is a animated music video too, wich is just incomplete in my opinion. :P
@@mitteilung_folgt is correct!
1916 hit different again 😢 i too recommend 1916 ❤
The German pilot's TO had said that killing defenseless pilot who had bailed out was wrong and threatened to harm those who he trained who did, and Stigler saw the plane as equally defenseless
The way I heard it was that his squadron commander told all the pilots, "If I ever hear of you shooting at a man under parachute, I will shoot you myself!"
@@n5iln even better
When Franz Stigler said "IT WASN'T EASY", I thought because of the uneasy rivalry of WW2.
When Charlie Brown invited Franz Stigler to the WW2 Airborne reunion, many WW2 Airborne veterans gave Franz an uneasy welcome and one yelled "Nazi" to Franz. But Charlie was able to make Franz feel welcome and they became good friends.
In 2008, Franz passed away and a few months later in 2008, Charlie Brown passed away.
Christmas truce should be the next with Sabaton. You will love it
Wonderful reaction, ladies.
Id definitely recommend Christmas truce as well. Also Winged Hussars, The Last Battle, Inmate 4859, and The Last Stand are some good ones.
Recommendations for animated stories done in colab with Yarnhub

Need to do Sabaton's "Christmas Truce" before Christmas. Also a true story!
You can't be not watching Sabaton's Christmas Truce with that tree behind you
Lady of the Dark and Nightwitches ❤
Greetings from Sweden. Gotta love my Swedish Sabaton right 😀 Loved the reaction 🥰 Rock on ladies 🤘
Not just the anniversary of the video, but of the actual historical event. I consider it their first Christmas song, with "Christmas Truce" being their second.
Another Sabaton Song that would fit "Screaming Eagles" as this is the 78th anniversary for the Battle of the Bulge (16 December 1944 to 28 January 1945)
The animated music videos are all very well done "Night Witches" & "The Red Baron" are a must
Sabaton has a loooong list of history based music.
Night witches
abou female bombers during ww2 and their success despite the bad equipment and discrimination...
Lady of the dark
female ww1 warhero and leader of soldiers.
Red baron, famous fighter pilot in ww1
Epic ones (official not the lyric videos)
Bismark, about the sinking of the ship
Defence of Moscow, self explained
Christmas truce, about the spontaneous truce in some parts of the western front during Christmas 1914
40:1, about polish soldiers, badly outnumbered (just under 750 in all) facing 42 000 germans, they where BADLY outgunned desperately defending against the German invasion 1939.
Price of a mile: about the battle of Passchendaele in WW1
Screaming Eagles: about the battle of the Bulge
Royal guards and Livgardet in that order, they are partially intertwined and tell a story (Sabaton do that), both about the history behind Swedish Royal guards, written to celebrate the 500 year anniversary of Livgardet (Royal guards in Swedish).
Live performances:
40:1 from poland Uprising from Poland
Uprising, live from Poland.
En livstid i krig live from Göteborg Sweden (in Swedish but there are subtitles), very heavy again, about thoughts of a young man going to war.
Swedish pagans, live from Wacken 2019 (with Tina Guo).
These are just some, there are plenty more.
Sabaton NEVER misses. Every single one of their songs are amazing, and they're all based on true history.
Merry Christmas Lulu! Merry Christmas ladies! You guys are making great video choices!
Happy holidays!
Sabaton: "Christmas Truce." (Official Music Video).
Please play to the last second.
So happy to see your reaction to No Bullets Fly and the other songs from Sabaton! All the songs you reacted to so far are my favorites.
Sabaton is my favorite band. What I would recommend, if you want to see more, are official music videos of
- Father,
- En livstid i krig live from Gothenburg with english subtitles,
- Bismark
- The attack of the dead men,
- From hell to back,
- Versailles,
- The unkillable soldier
- Soldier of heaven,
- Winged Hussars
- The final solution - it´s about such horrific events that I don´t even know what to write.
- Stormtrooper,
- Shiroyama
- Screaming Eagles
There really are so many more great Sabaton songs - these are just a few that are among my favorites.
This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. The story is... it's beautiful! I would LOVE to see a movie based around it.
Keep reacting to Sabaton, they are amazing , the tears will come. Try 1916
Sabaton has 6 animated story videos:
No Bullets Fly
Night Witches
The First Soldier
The Red Baron
Lady of the Dark
Christmas Truce (although this is best watched after watching the official video)
Welcome to this amazing history educating rabbit hole.Big catalog, just keep em coming ❤
SABATON HAS SNUCK UP ON ME TY FOR UR REACTION!!!
Next sabaton song: "Night Witches" animated story!
You guys are in for a real treat on your journey through some of Sabaton's catalog, Christmas truce and 1916 should be on your list. Enjoy!
I like that a grandmother, daughter, and granddaughters 1st reaction to Sabaton was this 1
A song about a grandfather shared with the daughter by the grandson
I have a like for certain

In Germany some people call him a traitor. In Canada some called him a Nazi. In America with his brother he was okay.
More sabaton reactions!!❤❤
Thank you ladies. You saved my eavning. Ill rekomend christmas truce, soldier of heaven and 1916 for starters. Greetings from Sweden.
"Nightwitches" animated next, please. And then "En livstid i krig" live from Gothenburg WITH subtitles put on. ☺
Stigler's family will most likely see this reaction video btw. They always come around to say thank you on reactions to this video.
Sabaton only sings about true events. Christmas Truce would be perfect video to react during holiday season 🙂👍🇫🇮
Not the country..)
Some really good suggestions...
Night witches, Red Baron, Lady of the Dark, Bismarck, Defence of Moscow

sabaton lady of the dark animated story video
If anyone wants to read the book that was written about this with history on both pilots look up “A Higher Call by Adam Makos” it is an amazing book and it has stories from both pilots about their lives before during and after the war
Any of the animated story videos are a great starting point because they explain the backround of the story and have the song in it.
3:15
The plane actually dived and levelled out above a town in real life, with witnesses saying the underside "nearly scraped off the roofs"
Btw Franz had provided detailed knowledge about the B-17, the damage and the crew so that Charlie knew he was the real pilot back then
Indeed, it's true.
A higher call is the book. It covers the incident and their experiences in the war in general. Their are some interesting stories in the book.
The Christmas truce is a heart warming story and a great song

And there is a book about that story and the life of Franz Stigler it's called "A higher call". I highly recommend everyone to read this. It is a really great book.
You reacted to this on the day of the 80th anniversary of the event.
Franz Stigler, was taught by one of the best, and he as well as many other Luftwaffe Pilots viewed themselves as knights with honor and refuse to shoot at parachutes. Franz says this in the interview if you watch it.

Christmas Truce is another amazing story of humanity during war. There was also a movie that immortalized what happened. It is called "Joyeux Noel", and some clips of the movie can be found on UA-cam. I highly recommend Sabaton's song and the movie.
this band has all their songs based on true stories
Sabaton is the best story telling band ever. Hey have touched a whole world with their music. ❤❤❤

Sabaton is an incredible band. All the songs are about war heros, moments, and battles that'll always give you chills. I definitely recommend The Last Battle by Sabaton.
Thanks Kevin!
Thank you for subbing. MERRY CHRISTMAS 🤶
The animated story version of Night Witches is great too.
