This song is not only a hit, it is considered a pop masterpiece. Belinda was a rare gem- she could do it all. An 80s queen that your channel needs to dive into more. "Do you feel like I feel", I Get Weak, Lay Down Your Arms, In Too Deep, Summer Rain, Runaway Horses...
To your list I'd add: Nobody Owns Me, I Plead Insanity, California, Half The World, La Luna, Big Scary Animal, We Want The Same Thing, Leave A Light On For Me... I could go on! Edit: removed a duplicate.
Belinda is one of those rare talents that can actually carry any song she sings, everything else just takes a backseat. She is so timeless. She would have been a star in any era she lived in. She's that unique.
I’m not in any way comparing the two artists but Belinda Carlisle’s voice has a very fast vibrato similar to Edith Piaf’s voice. Plus there’s an unmistakable rich huskiness and growl to her voice that is easy to recognize. And yeah, she was the definition of ‘babe’💙.
Belinda released some of the best pop songs in the late 80's. I Feel The Magic, Mad About You, Heaven Is A Place On Earth, I Get Weak, and Leave A Light On. Runaway Horses (album) was such an under appreciated piece of pop art.
I think this is my fave song from Belinda. Such a feeling of nostalgia and longing conveyed here. It's forever tied to a certain period in my life through its sound alone. Glad you enjoyed this!
Thank you for reviewing this ❤ I have always loved Belinda's music and a BC compilation album was always a road trip necessity IMHO. This song 🎵 is just fabulous and showcases her stunning voice. I recently watched a video which played a tiny clip of the most popular songs of every month of the 1980's. I then looked at a history of recent Spotify hits and literally... cried 😢 What has happened to mainstream music? There ARE good bands around (e.g. Greta Van Fleet) but not generally in the charts. It's like watching the auto tuned death of music 😢
@@antoniofernandez7075 Summer Rain destroys Circle in the Sand and it still isn’t top 5 Belinda. Circle is very mid for Belinda. I Feel The Magic, Runway Horses, I Get Weak, Leave a Light on, Do you Feel like I Feel?, In Too Deep, Big Scary Animal, Half The World, The majority of the tracks on Runaway Horses (like Whatever it Takes), Nobody Owns Me…all superior to CITS imo.
I have loved this song for nearly 50 years. Not only does it evoke beautiful pictures, the message is almost mystical. I can easily visualize the intersecting circles of being drawn in the sand.
Always happy to hear Belinda on your channel. Some other tunes of hers to consider, "I Get Weak," "Summer Rain" and a personal favorite of mine, "I Plead Insanity."
I'm SO excited you got back to Belinda. - I would LOVE to hear your reaction to Summer Rain next. It is FANTASTIC - and I think you'd both love it. Also I Feel Free is a more uptempo one from the HILARIOUS - MUST WATCH - 80's comedy License to Drive. Another AMAZING song for Female Friday is Taste by Lorna Vallings. Very unique and different - but a BANGER. From another MUST watch movie - the Skulls. Hugs and much love from Ontario, Canada! :)
A song that always takes me back to summer 1988 and being on holiday with my parents in Torquay as a 8 year old when this entered the top 5 in the UK charts 😊.
I love this song; the best of her slower ones! She has many more great songs like "Summer Rain," "La Luna," "Tell Me," "You're Nothing Without Me," "Do You Feel Like I Feel," "Little Black Book," "I Plead Insanity," "California," "Runaway Horses," "I Feel the Magic," and more.
Elaine Paige And Barbara Dickson - "I Know Him So Well" from the musical "Chess". Written by Tim Rice plus the ABBA duo of Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus.
When I was a kid, I would play this song over and over, one day when I came home from school, mom had gone to the record store and bought the record for me...I played it till it was too scratched to play. I love this song and Summer Rain. but I just love her in general. :)
Some less popular but still awesome Belinda sons' are, "Runaway Horses" "Do You Feel Like I Feel", "La LUna" "Leave a Light On For Me", "Summer Rain", and "Live Your Life Be Free"
@@martinsv9183 that was a bigger hit and they may have reacted to it already, I was letting them know about the ones that didnt hit so far up on the charts
Skyy - Call Me, was a summer of 1981 banger. Skating rink, club or party this was a party starter. Three sisters getting funky and having fun with it. Female Friday material.
Songs of my teenage years. I remember this period. I was a Venture Scout at my school and we used to go hiking and camping at the school compound or leatherback turtle watching or we had a national camp with other scouts or doing honour guard duties at various functions in our district. This was a song that was constantly playing at that time on the radio when we were running off to these various events. I miss those days.
I loved that you reacted to this one. This has always been a less popular song by her but I believe it’s one of her best solo efforts. Her solo greatest hits album is pretty great & this is on it.
Belinda is still really in top form in concert today and she released some great new stuff last year on her Kismet LP. She was in the UK touring with Rick Astley in the Spring and then took time off to get a knee replacement which seems to have gone well. After her rehab at her home in Mexico City she'll be touring Australia this Fall.
This song was top 10 of my playlist back in the day and still is one of my favorite. "Baby can you hear me?...can you hear me calling?..." Just love it!
Such a beauty. Always had a crush on Belinda. This song is great! Such a vibe and HEAVEN ON EARTH is such a great album start to finish. "I Get Weak" is another song off of this album that hit the charts. Other songs to react to - "Summer Rain", "Leave a Light On".
Clean up Woman by Betty Wright is a must. Soulful . I finally saw where another channel played her song. 😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯
Hi Jay and Amber! It's Andrew Erroch fae Paisley in Scotland here! I saw Belinda Carlisle in support of Rick Astley at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow in February this year and I was so glad to hear she still has a brilliant voice, even though I know she has had many troubles and health scares in her life. She put on a brilliant performance and of course Rick Astley was as good as expected. I would suggest you react next to 'Live Your Life Be Free' by beautiful Belinda Carlisle. Æx 🙏
This is an absolutely magical song! My next Belinda's recommendations for you are "Turn To You" with The Go-Go's (Great rock tune with a fun video) and "Summer Rain" as solo (the music, her singing, the story)
Hello what are lovely therapy people you are may I suggest Belinda Carlisle always breaking my heart carry on with the good music I'm John from England by the way chocks away

interesting mentioning Lay down your arms. Not sure who released it first: Belinda or The Graces.
Prestani da pišeš gluposti. Žena nema pojma sa pevanjem! Zvuči kao bolesna koza! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Don't forget La Luna, and Shades Of Michelangelo, my favorite from the Runaway Horses album

Belinda Carlisle --- Summer Rain
My fav Belinda song ever !
Yaaaaaaaasss!
The remix is on a whole other level
Summer Rain is my favourite too. (Circle In The Sand is Top 5).
Summer Rain is highly overrated, even by BC herself, Wouldn't even make my top 10 of her's.
Another vote for this!
I dont even know how to describe Belinda Carlisles voice but nobody else comes close, its that ripple when she holds a note. Plus shes a babe

Adored this song ever since it released when I was a kid. Belinda Carlisle has an incredible voice.
Me too. Memories of 1988 as a 13 year old
This is such a unique song. I love beautiful Belinda 😍

My favourite song from Belinda, sultry, classy track.
Her voice…it’s buttery good🥰
I love Belinda! Always have. This is actually my favorite song of hers. She has do many hits, but this is my heart here!
Belinda Carlisle is the embodiment of romance, Awesome performer
Big hit for Belinda. so many pretty songs. Summer Rain, La Luna, Vision of you...easy on the eyes as well.

Anything from Belinda is heavenly and worthwhile :)
This song has had my heart since day one. I still blast this beautiful tune driving around ❤️
This song was my FAVORITE for a long time. Love it. Love her.
I love her voice her choice to make the go-gos she didn't know how good she was
So glad that you got to hear this song. One of my favorites by her. And the extended mix of the song is cool too.
Loved this uplifter from the 80's...sweet sentiment
haven't heard this for soo long! thank u for the memories u brought back from hearing it again!
Absolutely love this song. Belinda is truly amazing. I'm a metal dude at heart. But man Belinda is a guilty pleasure for listening to.
I love this song so magical one of my favs of hers. I've seen her live and she's amazing
One of my very favorite songs, definitely in my top 100.
My FAVORITE Belinda Carlisle song! Bought the CD back in 1987 and still have it.

❤One of the best. Love her voice solo or with her girls the Go-Gos. You need to hear Turn To You by The Go-Gos it's a banger.
This is easily my favorite Belinda Carlisle song. ❤
Belinda Carlisle - I Get Weak
Way better than this mediocre Belinda song.
Mediocre? It's a good song. But not as good as I Get Weak or Summer Rain for example.
Belinda has a very good voice but 80s pop is still better than what's coming out today.

Belinda's hair in this video is peak humanity. ❤❤❤
What an amazing description. I absolutely agree.
This song is from the same album as Heaven is a Place on Earth which explains the red hair in both videos.
My favorite song of hers
Love Belinda

Steady on, it's not that old! 🙂🙂
Belinda has great chest resonance as a singer. She can sing in the highs, lows or sing like she is having a conversation 😊

Both of you are so real with what you do. Glad I found yu
In the 80's, Belinda Carlisle and Suzanna Hoffs (The Bangles) were the two females every young boy drooled over.
Belinda is gorgeous.
I love this song so much that I downloaded the extended version of it!
"Music is the Answer".. that's right Amber !!
Belinda has a Ann Margret look in this video.
Ooh good
Definitely see her Irish looks
Her quick vibratto sets her apart! Love Belinda Carlisle.....try "Runaway Horses".

Such a smooth voice. Madame Carlisle has one of the most amazing female voices, all decades included
Too bleaty for my tastes. Like Stevie Nicks & Florence Welch - vibrato like roadworks!
😅😅😅😅😅😅
