Finally - I’ve been waiting for you guys to discover this gem!! ❤ One of my all time favorite songs from my favorite female artist!! ✨ So glad y’all loved it!!
I had a huge crush on Belinda in the 80's. The Go-Go's started out as punk rockers, and they tamed their show for mainstream success. Belinda tells the story of how she met her husband. Her band was at a reception in the White House. She had half-shaved, green hair; torn ripped clothes with fishnets and safety pins. Here future husband was a PR guy in the Reagan administration, wearing a three-piece suit. They both knew it was love at first sight. He is the guy in her other video, "Heaven is a Place on Earth". I was at a CT casino in the late 90's, and the Go-Go's were doing a no cover show at the open-air center bar, where the gamblers could watch. They sounded as good as they did on their albums from a decade earlier. The casino messed up because they underestimated the Go-Go's continuing popularity. They should have put them in the arena. No one could move on the gambling floor because the crowd was 10 deep at the railings. If i had known that they had reunited and were playing, I would have arrived earlier to get a seat in the bar.
Saw the Go-Go's live in Durham NC in the '80's. Their set was fine, but a little nervous (they weren't all instrumental virtuosi) but Belinda's voice was magic. She exudes charm and beauty in this video and it just makes me feel I am an old soul trying to live in a new world. I remember when it was a virtue for a girl simply to be nice.
Belinda is a great singer. Her cover of Band of Gold off the same album (her solo debut album) is great. Has that Olivia Newton John feel. That was her husband at the time in the video (Mason Morgan). Even Andy Taylor (Duran Duran) makes an appearance (the guitar player).
This is a wonderful song! 1986 saw her breakout album “Belinda” The album depicted a celebration of her ascent from the hard partying days of the GoGos to having peace of mind. Another great song from this album is “I Feel the Magic” which depicts a celebration of life without drugs.
Actually, if you read her book, Lips Unsealed, she was still partying hard after the break up with The Go Go’s. It’s a good read, you should check it out! Love Belinda! ✌🏻👍🏻
Yes! My favorite Belinda Carlisle song and one of my overall faves from the 80’s! Glad you love it too! ❤ The man in the video is her husband Morgan Mason. They’ve been married since 1986, the year “Mad About You” was released. Next try “Circle in the Sand” by Ms Carlisle and “Turn to You” by the amazing Go-Go’s.
Written primarily by Paula Jean Brown, who was a Go-Go for about as long as it takes me to type this. When Jane Wiedlin quit the band in 1984, the group moved Kathy Valentine to lead guitar and brought in Paula Jean to take over on bass. This lasted for all of TWO shows, and then Belinda and Charlotte Caffey decided they weren't feeling the new alignment and the group split up. But Paula Jean ended up making a contribution, after all. Lovely song, lovely performance, lovely Belinda.
This was her first hit as a solo artist. Her and her crew did such a great job of picking her style for her first video release. Hair, makeup, clothes etc were so classy and fresh. I remember seeing it for the first time as it was getting major radio play.
This was Belinda Carlisle’s first big solo hit and it is my favorite! That is Andy Taylor formerly an original member of Duran Duran on guitar on this song and in the video! In this video, Belinda reminds me of a young Ann Margaret (starred with Elvis in Viva Las Vegas), a great actress known for her beautiful and sex appeal!❤❤
The bass player is Andy Taylor from Duran Duran, her boyfriend is her husband Morgan Mason (son of actor James Mason) and her girlfriend is her Go Go's bandmate Charlotte Caffey who also sings backup . "Circles in the Sand" has to be your next reaction.
I remember me and a lot of my friends seeing this video on MTV for the first time and losing our minds on how awesome it was. And the ripping guitar solo in the middle is provided by Andy Taylor from Duran Duran.
Andy Taylor of Duran Duran and Power Station plays guitar on this song and is in the video! I have always loved his rockin' sound that he couldn't explore with D2
Now that you two have listened to a few by Belinda, it is time to check out another Go-Go and her solo work. Jane Wiedlin has a great fun song called World On Fire. Y'all should give that one a listen.
This song brings back my happy place memories of the summer of 1986 at 14 yrs old. That was a great summer of music from hard rock to mainstream rock/pop like this one. This song reminds of being at the swimming pool hearing it on the pool's radio speakers jumping off the high dive. Not to mention is a great song. Great choice Rob Squad! Glad you liked it.
Summer of 86! This song was on constantly at the beach, providing great vibes. That is her husband in the video. They started a family with several kids and the last I heard still married and happy together. Rare for celebrities.
Love this lady. Great tune. Thanks! A little bass there, Jay. Gonna say it again. Just love this lady! A bit of a Bangles vibe. No problem with that. Then that guitar guy! Yup. Such a good vibe. Thanks!
I think a lot of people (male, female, straight, gay) had a crush on Belinda Carlisle after watching this video. The song and the visuals together are dreamy. What a beautiful looking woman.
Was waiting for you to review this. How gorgeous is Belinda Carlisle!! This song was her first single released at the beginning of a stellar solo career. Female Friday suggestion: Alannah Myles. Black Velvet. I don’t believe you’ve reviewed this artist.
HEY guys seeing this video reminds me of the days when MTV actually played music videos this was Belinda's second biggest hit single reached number three on Billboard pop singles chart Amber other Female Friday songs to consider Dorothy Moore Misty Blue Yvonne Elliman remake of Hello Stranger Barbra Streisand version of stony end Melissa Manchester midnight Blue Thelma houston don't leave me this way Many McGregor Torn between two lovers ABBA Dancing Queen Rita Coolidge Were all alone keep up the great work guys.
You two never disappoint! Another artist I love until this day! I remember when she was with her girl group The Go Go's! I'm an old 47 year old that enjoys listening to old school music of all areas and maybe some of the new music. The days of buying actual cassettes and CD's and listening to the radio is so crazy compared today! I love this song!
When Belinda went solo, I thought she looked a lot like a young Ann Margaret. And I think that her videos looked like mini movies because she had that golden age of Hollywood look. Her whole body practically hangs off those cheekbones.
This is one of those songs thats perfect for driving along the beach on a warm summer day! Probably my favorite GoGos-relared song, followed by Our Lups are Sealed.
Her husband is Morgan Mason, son of British actor James Mason. That's him in the video with her. They married in 1986, and are celebrating 37 years of marriage.
The song that transitioned Belinda Carlisle from the Go-Go's to a solo recording artist. It was originally written by members of the band for their fourth album before they broke up. Her bandmate Charlotte Caffey sang backup and made a small cameo in the music video.
Belinda Carlisle rocks with that vibrato voice of hers. "I Get Weak" is a song that really shows her vibrato off. "Circles in the Sand" is more of a love song that also became a hit video on VH1 and MTV back when I was in middle school.
If I am not mistaken this was supposed to be on the next go-go's album but they disbanded before it could happen. You should check out Circle In The Sand it has an eerie sound to it
This song was released in 1986 the same year Belinda Carlisle married Morgan Mason who plays her love interest in this video. They have been married for 37 years. Also appearing in the video is Andy Taylor of Duran Duran playing guitar.
The great Andy Taylor of Duran Duran plays the guitar solo on this song. He released his first solo album, Thunder, around this time. A real lost classic of the 80s. You guys should check out some of his solo work, "I Might Lie," "Life Goes On," "Thunder." Every song on the album is a banger.
Belinda Carlisle is amazing. She has just released new music: Belinda Carlisle - Kismet EP (vinyl, cd and streaming). It's a banger and every music lover needs to buy it and stream it.
Always loved Belinda Carlisle and her unique voice. I guess my favourite song of hers has to be "(We want) the same thing" but I like them all. Brilliant driving music 🥰
This was a Renaisssance for Belinda. She'd just married Morgan Mason (the man in this video, son of actor James Mason - they're still together). She's lost a lot of weight, changed her hair colour and you could tell she was really happy.
So glad you got back to Belinda. Amber - I have two more that you'll both love. Summer Rain and I Feel Free. Both different - but very unique with her amazing voice.
Thank you :). And Amber if you're still reading this - I Feel Free was featuring in a movie that I would LOVE to you and Jordan to react to. License to Drive is a late 80's - basically slap stick comedy. A hilarious roller coaster ride - with a killer soundtrack. Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top?? And Adventures in Babysitting??? Pretty pretty pretty please???? Hugs from Canada! :)
Hey guys, thanks for doing another request :) There's a TV show called Mad About You. "Circle In The Sand" "I Get Weak" "Leave A Light On" "Summer Rain" "Big Big Love" "We Want The Same Thing" "La Luna" "Live Your Life Be Free" "Do You Feel Like I Feel" "Runaway Horses" "I Feel The Magic" "In Too Deep" "Little Black Book" "World Without You" "Since You've Gone" "Lust To Love" are other songs from her. Have fun!
When they first came out I was only so so on the go gos. But I became a convert when I saw their live performance in the 2021 induction into the 2021 rock and roll hall of fame. Definitely worth a you tube search.
There are only two very successful all girl bands (sing AND write their own songs, play their own instruments, etc.): the Go-Go's and the Bangles. There were a couple that had one or two minor hits later but nothing comparable to those two.
Song came out late spring, early summer of 86. It's so nostalgic when I hear it. I'm 14 again 😊❤
One of her best songs. Her voice is awesome. My favorite song of her's is "I Get Weak".
That's my favorite one as well!
More white lines than the I-5
Mine too, and a great video. Never liked that hairstyle though. The one here and in other videos is much better.
Such a great ballad
Oh me too!
I think y'all will love "Circle In the Sand!" Her vocals on it are just phenomenal and it has a more mysterious quality that I know you guys enjoy.
I second this
Perfect wedding song, imho
I third this
I fourth it!!! 😆 👍🏿
One of my favorites.
Summer Rain by Belinda Carlisle! 🔥
My crush when I was in high school. I'm in a trance here mesmerized by her pretty face and beautiful voice.
Fantastic song by Belinda, and of course Andy Taylor from Duran Duran playing the rock guitar in the break.
Great choice people. Cheers, Paul.😁📀👍❤️
Finally - I’ve been waiting for you guys to discover this gem!! ❤ One of my all time favorite songs from my favorite female artist!! ✨ So glad y’all loved it!!
Me too! It's my favorite of hers!
Me too
Same here! So glad they finally heard this song... I'm still waiting for Martika Toy Soldier and again Debbie Gibson Foolish Beat...
100 percent agree!!!
Yeah, remember Belinda performing this on Letterman in 86 or 87. FIRE !
I had a huge crush on Belinda in the 80's. The Go-Go's started out as punk rockers, and they tamed their show for mainstream success.

He was Morgan Mason, the son of the great actor James Mason. He was himself a child actor who played Liz Taylor's kid in the Sandpipers.
Love that movie.
If you want a new favorite song, Pink Floyd - Dogs is the one 🐕🦺❤
Saw the Go-Go's live in Durham NC in the '80's. Their set was fine, but a little nervous (they weren't all instrumental virtuosi) but Belinda's voice was magic. She exudes charm and beauty in this video and it just makes me feel I am an old soul trying to live in a new world. I remember when it was a virtue for a girl simply to be nice.
Summer Rain should be your next Belinda song.
Great Reaction!! I Know you both would enjoy her song Circle in the Sand!! She sings it sooo beautifully!!! 👍🏿
Yes!
Ooh yes! Fantastic song
If you want a new favorite song, Pink Floyd - Dogs is the one 🐕🦺❤
I swear it seems like it was just yesterday that "Circle in the Sands" came out. Time flies when you're having fun. LOL
I loveddd “Circle In The Sand.” I bought the album for “Heaven Is A Place On Earth,” which was the only one I knew but ended up liking that song more.
"Summer Rain"- "Circle In The Sand" "Runaway Horses" and "Shades of Michaelangelo".
‘Circles in the Sand’ really shows her range!
Love Circles in the Sand! We need a reaction to it.
I think that one is my favorite.
That one and I Get Weak.
She sings it even better live now than on the record.
Belinda has always been gorgeous! She inspired so many of us in the 80s to wear hoop earings and black turtle necks and chop our hair to the chin!!
Well, not always. She had a lot of baby fat and no hair when she was in the Go-gos.
I remember making that transition in the 80's from the Farrah Fawcett to the classic bob. Good times.
My favorite from Belinda , there's something about her in this video that reminds of a young Ann Margret 😀
Yes. She looked more like Ann-Margaret when the Go-Go's did their 90's reunion album.
@@seanswinton6242 Yeah, she took on that person with her second album, "Heaven On Earth" (longer hair and blonde to auburn).
Fun fact… if someone has an already mentioned it, the rocking guitar break in this song is played by Andy Taylor… Lead guitarist for Duran Duran.
Belinda Carlisle - 'Circle in the sand' 🔥🔥 A beautiful, haunting song...
And fellow Go Go's band member Charlotte Caffey!😃
Her husband is still Morgan Mason, the son of Hollywood movie star James Mason.
I just came here to say all of this. 😁
@@shari_m925 Awesome.😊🎤🎶
Thanks for mentioning Andy Taylor....I thought it might be him, so, nice to know my eyes are not failing me!
I think you'd like Live Your Life Be Free, which has some great vocals from Belinda.
Belinda Carlisle wasn't the only Go Go to have a solo career. Jane Weidlin had a song "Rush Hour"
Me and my daughter loved this song when she was in school. My daughter and me were very close she died at 37. I miss her every moment of everyday.
This is my favorite of Belinda's solo songs. This is from her first solo album and she looks a lot like actress/singer Ann-Margaret on the cover.
Omg 1986!!! Such great memories ❤
This is a wonderful song! 1986 saw her breakout album “Belinda” The album depicted a celebration of her ascent from the hard partying days of the GoGos to having peace of mind. Another great song from this album is “I Feel the Magic” which depicts a celebration of life without drugs.

Next try “Circle in the Sand” by Ms Carlisle and “Turn to You” by the amazing Go-Go’s.
While the guitar solo is played by Duran Duran's Andy Taylor.
I 💜 The Gogos , This With Is Belinda Carlisle As Solo Aritist& This Song!😭🤗🤗🤣🥰🖥
Yep, one of my very first celebrity crushes! Boy, do I miss the 80s
So funny that me, a 51 year old dude gets a kick out watching you two discovering music of my youth
Great song! Thanks for this reaction. Who could not love Belinda Carlisle? And, as others have suggested, "Circle in the Sand" should be next.
Awesome. That’s Andy Taylor from Duran Duran on guitar. You will love her song-circle in the sand.
This was her first hit as a solo artist. Her and her crew did such a great job of picking her style for her first video release. Hair, makeup, clothes etc were so classy and fresh. I remember seeing it for the first time as it was getting major radio play.

Love, love, love this video! When it first came out I styled my hair and wardrobe (the sunglasses!) after her. 😎

Man take me back to summers of late 80's..❤
I L O V E Belinda... and I love Jay and Amber!
So glad you guys are digging' her.
Now that you two have listened to a few by Belinda, it is time to check out another Go-Go and her solo work. Jane Wiedlin has a great fun song called World On Fire. Y'all should give that one a listen.
She deserves to be in the hall of Fame as a solo artist
"Summer rain" and "Circle in the sand" are a must check out!
Ha! This song and
"I get weak" are still on my playlist.. 🎶💞🙏🏻
This song brings back my happy place memories of the summer of 1986 at 14 yrs old. That was a great summer of music from hard rock to mainstream rock/pop like this one. I was 14 also. Summer 86 was awesome
One of my favorite of hers
In the video, the woman she's having lunch with about halfway through is Charlotte Caffey, the lead guitarist and keyboard player from the Go-Gos.
Summer of 86! This song was on constantly at the beach, providing great vibes.
That is her husband in the video. They started a family with several kids and the last I heard still married and happy together. Rare for celebrities.
My schoolboy crush since the 80s,....I'm 59 yrs old and she is STILL my schoolboy crush!!😍😍
Haven't heard this one in a min., brings back great memories. Thanks for your reaction.
One of top 5 songs of the 80s. Still play it a lot.
She has a lot of good tunes.
Love this lady. Great tune. Thanks! A little bass there, Jay. Gonna say it again. Just love this lady! A bit of a Bangles vibe. No problem with that. Then that guitar guy! Yup. Such a good vibe. Thanks!
Her Circle in the Sand tour was my first concert at age 12. I got to go back stage to meet her. She was very nice & autographed my ticket & program.
Yeah, I really love this song!! Beautiful!!👍👍 Great memories!❤ Thanks, glad you loved it, great pick Amber!👍
YES more Go Go's! "Lust to Love" "How much more" Fading fast" "Yes or No" and "Turn to You". Turn to you has an amazing video you'll love it!
Ahhhh. She is very talented.
I think a lot of people (male, female, straight, gay) had a crush on Belinda Carlisle after watching this video. The song and the visuals together are dreamy. What a beautiful looking woman.
I was a gay teen and I absolutely adored her! 🥰
Saw her this few months back.. so awesome!
She is the epitome of the valley girl and southern Cali of the 80s.
80's candy! Love it!
Was waiting for you to review this. How gorgeous is Belinda Carlisle!! This song was her first single released at the beginning of a stellar solo career.
Female Friday suggestion: Alannah Myles. Black Velvet.
I don’t believe you’ve reviewed this artist.

"LA LUNA"
"SUMMER RAIN"

I love Belinda Carlisle!!! You guys need to check out my 2 faves by her “Summer Rain” and “Do You Feel Like I Feel”!!!
And that's Andy Taylor from Duran Duran with the guitar solo.
The Go-Go's are my favorite Girl Band. Love Belinda Carlisle. "Circles in the Sand"
The song that transitioned Belinda Carlisle from the Go-Go's to a solo recording artist. It was originally written by members of the band for their fourth album before they broke up. Her bandmate Charlotte Caffey sang backup and made a small cameo in the music video.
I plead insanity is my all time favourite song of hers
I feel like a teen again when I hear Carlisle sing. :) I Get Weak or We Got the Beat are both great songs she sings. So glad y'all enjoy her too!
Belinda Carlisle rocks with that vibrato voice of hers. "I Get Weak" is a song that really shows her vibrato off. "Circles in the Sand" is more of a love song that also became a hit video on VH1 and MTV back when I was in middle school.
I was in California when this song came out…I always want to cut my hair like Belinda and dance on the beach like that! 😂

My Favorite from Belinda is "Circle in the Sand"....!!...it's a MUST play...!!
Love this song. And she’s so pretty
Belinda is great. One of my favorites is "Summer Rain", though the ones others have mentioned are excellent as well.
“I Get Weak” is her best song you haven’t done yet
"Yes or No" is definitely worth checking out from the Go-Go's.
The guitar player in this video is Andy Taylor from Duran Duran. ❤ your reaction
I love your openness to everything you hear and positivity. It's so ulifting to my spirit! Be well, you two! Sending love your way.
Belinda Carlisle is amazing. She has just released new music: Belinda Carlisle - Kismet EP (vinyl, cd and streaming). It's a banger and every music lover needs to buy it and stream it.
She also did the theme song for "80 For Brady" with Dolly Parton, Cyndi Lauper, and Gloria Estefan. "Gonna Be You"
Yeah, Sanity, is my favorite song off her new release. Has a great ’60’s vibe to it. ✌🏻
@@oceanlover3530 I have only heard "Big Love"
@@kevinhaynes2699 That’s a great song too. Check out, Sanity. It’s awesome! ✌🏻✌🏻
Always loved Belinda Carlisle and her unique voice. I guess my favourite song of hers has to be "(We want) the same thing" but I like them all. Brilliant driving music 🥰
I personally think this is her best hit! Great Video and an Amazing Voice!
Your next AMAZING Belinda Carlisle song should be "Circle In The Sand." 😎
Very underrated talent and voice, hope you both dive into her and her time as the lead singer of the Go go's
This was a Renaisssance for Belinda. She'd just married Morgan Mason (the man in this video, son of actor James Mason - they're still together). She's lost a lot of weight, changed her hair colour and you could tell she was really happy.

100% pure California Sunshine Energy. She’s incredible.
:) Soon as the 80's vibes kicked in :)🎉🎊
So glad you got back to Belinda. Amber - I have two more that you'll both love. Summer Rain and I Feel Free. Both different - but very unique with her amazing voice.
"You Came out of Nowhere" is a personal fav, but love the 2 tracks you suggested .... Belinda Classics, for sure.
Hope they do those two songs, great suggestions 🙋🏻♀️
Thank you :). And Amber if you're still reading this - I Feel Free was featuring in a movie that I would LOVE to you and Jordan to react to. My favorite solo song by her is "I Get Weak" with this as a close second. Her album "Real" is very good also.
