I lost my wife in 2017. We used to go to a local bar in the afternoons. And sat under a neon sign above our table. I cry every time I hear this song. It is so real to the feelings. I still go there to the bar and sit at the table by myself, wishing I still had her company. I know she is wishing the same thing. We were married for 37 years before I lost her. My heart still aches for her, but I know she’s not in pain anymore. Linda, I still love you and can’t wait till we meet again. Hopefully under a Neon Moon.

Lost my husband 12/10/2021. I didn't listen to country music he was older than me and would play this and I just loved it. I grew up listening to hard-core punk but there was something about this song that I just loved. Maybe it's because it made me think of him. And when we first met. I'm crying now listening to this song and reading these stories realizing I'm not the only one. He also sang that song I'm a brand new man to me all the time. My heart is still broken.

"There's always room here for the lonely" has always made my heart move a bit. Not because I am lonely personally, but because I understand that many people sitting at the bar are lonely in one way or another and that everyone can benefit from a kind word and a little bit of camaraderie.
Worked in the oil field of northwest Oklahoma hauling water not quite 10 yrs ago. Somewhere between 11pm and maybe 2am, big 'ol old school cowboy radio station in Okie City would play this just about every night. Thank God for that station, the music and THIS song especially. It very found a home in my heart and remains there to this day!

Grew up listening to the metal bands of the 70’s 80’s and 90’s.
But I always had a special place in my heart for this old style country music.
Funny story for me and this song. I was putting up Christmas lights one year with this song cranked on the bose speaker. My son-in-law and I were having a great time and when we were done, the lights looked amazing. Anytime we wanted to remember that time together, my son-in-law and I would play this song. Some time later, we lost that house and had to move. When preparing for Christmas that year in our new home, I played this song. It not only took me back to the first time, but it became a new tradition. It reminded me that good times can be remembered, and created no matter where you are in life. Memories last forever. A thought, a smell, a picture, or even a song like this one can transport you back in time and warm the heart. I don't really think the words are as strong as the melody in this song, and yet, it speaks of carrying on no matter what. Ever since, I have installed Christmas lights on my house while playing this song. Kinda weird, but sorta nostalgic for me.

I lost a dear dear friend to suicide on the 13th of this month. He taught me to cowboy chacha to this song back in the 90's. He and I had lost touch til about a year ago. I wished I could have been the kind of friend he needed now like he was to me back then. He will forever be in my heart. Thank you for the memories Ray Ray

I am 75 ,my mum came to stay with me in Canada,,,from England...she was 80 today snowmobiles and shot guns ,,,I tooker to the stampede corral in oshawa, she danced with my teen age boys ,loved the time I had ...love ya mum xxx so happy you had a great 6 months in Canada..

This is one of the first songs I taught my oldest daughter to dance the two step too with a little rockabilly through'd in. Hard to believe she a mother of 3 great kids, her youngest just turned 18. My biggest regrets are the years I through away with them. I hope they'll understand someday, and know Im happy and haven't had the best life or luck in the choice I made. But I'd it my way.
