I'm 63 and wasn't born soon enough to see Elvis live. My mom loved Elvis, I remember watching his comeback special and every movie he ever made with my mom. My mom's gone now, but thanks to Elvis, I have wonderful memories of a shared passion we both had for a very talented poor kid.

When mom died I couldn't say goodbye, days later I was lying down listening to Elvis's music I fell asleep and began to dream that Elvis appeared next to my bed dressed in his white suit of lights and he took me to the room where my mother had died and there she was as if time came back, that's when I was able to say goodbye to tears and finally my heart rested thanks to Elvis. This is real.

Whilst in Germany after Elvis was drafted, my Daddy and Elvis became very close friends. Daddy was Elvis’s superior whilst he was in the Army. I saw my first of MANY concerts at the age of 4. He was kind, compassionate, generous and SO funny! The first time I heard him sing live; his voice sent chills throughout my body. He gave me a horse (a Palomino) that was kept at Graceland. I named him Pegasus as I felt as if I were flying when I rode him. Graceland was a very closed, tight-knit group of relatives and friends. Not only was Elvis wonderful; he was HUMAN. He spoke often of his identical twin brother who was born before him, stillborn. His name was Jesse Garon Presley. On Elvis’s birth certificate, Gladys wrote “Elvis Aron Presley.” It was later corrected as Elvis said his parents weren’t too good when it came to spelling. He spoke about the emotional pain Gladys went through. He said, “Mama had the worst day of her life and the best day of her life on the same day. Poor Mama.” I’m not surprised, but deeply saddened of Lisa Marie’s death and I still haven’t come to terms with the fact that she’s gone. Vernon Elvis Presley was a sweet man, too. I recall he used to dress up as Santa Claus at Christmastime. I had many adventures and a lot of fun with Lisa Marie and the whole gang whilst at Graceland and our family took vacations to Hawaii and other places quite often. Lisa, Danny and his siblings losing Ben in 2020 was terrible, and no one was the same again. Lisa’s out of the excruciating mental pain now. I’m so sad that she’ll never get to know her new granddaughter. Her funeral was so hard for all of us. I’m so glad we have so many home movies of our time together. 💔

I wouldn't compare vocalists, that sounds unfair to me. What about Ronnie James Dio for hard rock, or Lucciano Pavarotti for opera? "Best" is a word I don't like at all.

We know what a great human beeing Elvis was. If he had something and you liked it,,He will pass it on to you. Gave his cleaning lady a home, One of his friends a car. Someone liked a ring he had and gave it to that person.. And not only because of him doing these things. Also his music touched us all..Elvis Presley was one of a kind.

He did sing it often. But this version with the Royal Philharmonic has come out fairly recently, just in the last year.
