Time for boxes of random pop culture guff! A big expensive box of tat from retailer HMV, and a box of INTRIGUE from the wonderful human who sends me interesting stuff and calls it a Güd Crate. We've got He-Man! X-Men! A TERRIFYING GOAT! Power Rangers! Mars Attacks! Doctor Who! And a billion things more! (Not actually a billion.)
#Ashens #Mysterybox #ROBOGOAT - Розваги
The ROBOGOAT deserves a spot on the "Shelf Of Interesting Things".
It's not from a blind bag! Blasphemy!
I think Robogoat might be some stupidly old stock from the year of the Goat... Which was a few good years ago...
We would love to make some more blind bag shit and to see again the shelve of interesting items stuard! ;)
It needs it's own shrine.
Doctor Who sounds absolutely insane without context, honestly
It's absolutely insane with context
@@aborted4196 you aren't wrong there
Alien with two hearts and a very long life that if killed can regenerate like a Phoenix but with a different face and personality steals a spaceship crash lands on earth to Britain in the 1960s The ship disguises itself as a blue police box but get stuck as a blue police box he has many friends over the years Who go on adventures with him save the Earth multiple times from Aliens and Monsters and the tardis aka blue box can travel anywhere in space and Time it’s bigger on the inside
Yeah. *Yeah...*
"Clickety Clack, Clickety Clack, the GOAT is on attack"
Terrifying.
@insanity wolf Hes coming for you!
the goat running across the floor is pure horror
It would be even creepier than it already is if he did in pitch black.
Yall r chicken s****
'Jimmy' is a Japanese 'Pose Skeleton' figure. Ridiculous levels of articulation - it's little jaw moves, even. There's a whole family, too, and skeleton dog and cat to go with them. Barking mad, but brilliant with it. What else would you expect from a toy from Japan? I love 'em.
How the hell did Psylocke's costume stay anywhere near decent? Any violent moves on her part, and an undisguisable case of 'Hungry Arse' would occur.
In comics, the answer is... industrial strength glue.
@@Eucep Comics Code Authority brand clothing.
... This was canonical in She-Hulk actually.
Great, now I'm singing "Hungry Arse" to the tune of "Hungry Eyes".
have you ever heard of but glue? it's mostly used in swimsuit competitons in modeling or beauty pageants but i use it a lot for cosplay! it keeps things Where They Belong and is only. a little gross to wash off.
there's also the factor of "i dunno, magic?"
@@poisonmantis4191 - I know that 'Tit Tape' existed, but not 'Arse Glue'. You learn something every day. Thank you.
I love the old Mr. T cartoon. "Go to drugs, don't do milk, and drink your school."
The most interesting Item ever from a Mystery Box is still the Inflatable Fucking Crown.
the inflatable crown for fucking
wait
Excuse me that's the FUCKING INFLATABLE FUCKING CROWN.
I think you mean infuriating.
@@thephantomgamer6423 What, The Infuriating FUCKING INFLATABLE FUCKING CROWN! ?
Wtf, link us up, don't leave us hanging
28:55 Yep, that's from 'Gridlocked'. They must have been really been hurting for things to print on those cards if they took an unnamed person with barely 10 seconds of screen time.
If the numbers on the cards are to be believed there are over 500.
I'm glad he showed all of the Mars Attacks cards, I loved seeing all the different art styles.
They were really nice🤩 Def a keeper...
I think Weird Figurine Psylocke and her goat steed would make a pretty good He-Man villain herself XD
She does look like a rejected She-Ra character.
He-Man's face, when he's running away from Mer-Man's body, looks terrifyingly like Boris Johnson's...
Speaking of Motu, that Psylocke doll looks like it would fit in with Masters of the Universe!
I feel there was a Newspaper cartoon of Boris resembling He-Man like you would get in the Daily Mail with Skeletor representing something.
Oh my god, the pose is even like that one photo of him barreling into a child while playing rugby in Japan.
Those Doctor Who Battles in Time cards are really old. Surprised they still had stock to shift. I collected loads as a kid. I especially liked the monsters set as it had the classic episodes monsters in.
Yep the set he opened was one of the first sets. Must be over 10 years old.
@@timothyhilditch it was an Invaders card, the second expansion for the game. Would have been released September 2007 so probably hasn't been on store shelves in 12-13 years
Was there no a magazine that went with them from a vague memory I seem to hve?
@@SullySideUp Third expansion. There was a small set with green numbers (series 2 only) in between the first main set (series 1 and 2) and the Invader set (that covered series 3 only).
I'm not sure anyone ever actually PLAYED them. Everyone just bought a bunch hoping to get a shiny to sell :')
28:35 I haven't heard ashens laugh this hard since the toy violin

That is a ReMent Pose Skeleton 01.
They come from Japan and have entire diorama sets for them. Office, rock star, dining room, bathroom, etc.
ReMent has four types.
Male (which you have), female (pink with a bow), child (small with less articulation) and monster (tall and has multiple colors and forms)
There's entire communities dedicated to potographing these little guys in mundane situations. Odd, but strangely fascinating pics.
I just like the skeletons, lmao.
Re-Ment are manufacturers of Dolls' House furniture, and the skeletons are in scale with those. I have the coffin set and the office set. One of my skeletons is in a model time machine, as it's long-dead pilot. They're great little figures.
*doot*
hm yes lets gender the skeletons by putting a *bow on it*
@@PoppySisit does give some r/pointlesslygendered vibes lol
@@PoppySis you are aware that the human skeleton does have differences between male and female specimens, yes?
Bone density, length, number of bones, even the shape of some bones differ between males and females.
As these skeletons are about 3 inches (~80ish mm) in size, are highly articulated (for the scale) and use nearly the same moulds, the only realistic way to differentiate them is via accessories and color.
You can take offence to what a company has decided to do with their product if you wish (it's even called that on the packaging) but nobody is telling you to buy them.
The goat could be a horror movie villain. Imagine if that, The Goose, and the weird Winnie-the-Pooh bootleg thing that Stuart reviewed teamed up to terrorise someone just trying to live their life. It’d be like a bizarro version of Toy Story.
Asriel Dreemurr NOOOOOO.
So you're going to make a Psylocke figure. Making fabric clothes is part of your whole line, but you have INEXPLICABLY decided to pick someone who wears infamously little. How do you do it? Here are your options:
A - Just mold it onto her anyway, let's face it, it makes sense. None of it would look good as fabric anyway. Just make it look extra good.
B - Paint on/mold the stuff you can't really do well with fabric. Like all the weird little straps, they're skintight anyway, you can put that on her skin. Just make what you can be clothing.
C - Make her a weird full body suit that does look like the costume but fills in the gaps with a flesh tone lighter than her skin.
Who the HELL PICKED C???
I dunno why, but He-Man saying "Git awff me land!" made me bust out laughing.
I’m ashamed with how many times I watched the goat going across the floor and laughed everytime.
It’s honestly fun to watch.
skeleton toy is from a Japanese toy line called "Pose Skeleton", the are highly pose-able figures that comes with tons of accessories sold separately such as furniture and even a house/room for them to live in.
Well, less "live" in and more "reside" in.
I have rewound and re-watched that bit of the Satan goat going across the floor about a hundred times and it's just as funny every time 🤣🤣 It's the sound of the feet that gets me for some reason 😂
holy shit i was just thinking that i needed more ashens mystery boxes in my life
Ashens is doing a mystery box? Count me in!
Demonic Goat is the best thing I’ve encountered since The Goose
I was thinking that... but the Goose is the champ
I laughed so hard when Stuart said, "wouldst thou like to live deliciously?"
The lights even made it look like it had a purple aura of evil.
There was also the weird dragon from a previous mystery box
He should make a parade with these
Those Mars Attacks cards really had an 'Underground Comics' vibe to it.
Robogoat is the greatest thing I have ever seen. I worship you Robogoat. Robogoat is my new life mission. Robogoat will tell us what to do.
I want the sweatshirt of Van Damme embarrassing himself trying to dance. And there is also a video game of Mars Attacks. It's actually pretty funny. And dude, I thought you had abandoned us...
14:17 He also had a cereal at the time, made famous in Pee-wee's Big Adventure. It basically tasted like Captain Crunch, just in "T" form.
"I pity the fool who don't eat my cereal!"
The really cartoony Mars Attacks cards appear to have been illustrated by Keith Giffen, one of my favorite comic artists of the time. Mostly known for his work on Lobo and Trencher.
I lost it at the "angry farmer" bit! Literally just paused it and had a laugh.
I would pay actual money for a range of action figures based on the characters from 1970s and 80s public information films - The kid wearing an anorak as a cape in the 'danger, no swimming' ad. Or the terrifying Punch & Judy crocodile driving a small car, from one of the Don't Go With Strangers films. If there was a Marvel-style expanded universe featuring these characters, I would certainly watch all the films.
I’m sure it was ‘TIMMY!!’ rather than Jimmy. I’ve got those films on DVD so I’ll check it out tomorrow.
One Got Fat comes to mind.
one of the don't go with strangers films had me convinced as a child that a 'bad person' would simply take me away and leave me in an abandoned industrial unit. I was never sure why.
"The Dark and Lonely Water" Ghost Monk voiced by Donald Pleasence would be a great one to have!
I’d want a Joe and Petunia from the coastguard advert, especially if he ’said co-ee lovely day intit!’
Had Mars attacks on VHS, was 1 of my favorite movies back in the days
That Pale Woman card needs to be a T-shirt. I've never seen anything funnier, apart from maybe the goddamn violin box...
Psylocke comes with the bonus feature of shapeshifting into Robbie Rotten when viewed from the side.
He-man looks like an angry Rod Hull, maybe Skeletor stole Emu..
Imagine getting up for a piss at 3am and that goat goes scuttling across the floor stuff of nightmares lmao
A chaos emerald with Jean Claude Van Damm carved into the sides…… And now I have homework
"who remembers aunt may?" who the hell can forget that thing is still burned into the face of my sleep paralysis demon
Are those Marvel figure heads removable without damaging them? I want to see Aunt May and Psylocke with heads switched around
That goat is definitely related to THE GOOSE
That Doctor Who card is so out of context it's amazing.
Yess more ASHENS!! The one man who makes me laugh my ass off no matter how many times I watch a video🤣
Teela was the daughter of the Sorceress iirc.
Also that cover looks like something you'd see on a tabletop game book.
I'm not even gonna lie, watching that goat go across the floor both made me die in hysterics, and terrify me greatly at the same time.
Just when I needed you most.
>>BAM
3:58 no Cyblade was Top Cows version of Psylocke. They’re damn near the exact same character, Mark Silvestri didn’t use too much imagination when putting Cyberforce together 😂
Betsy looks like she still her old British self trying to cosplay as Psylocke.
Having an awful day I needed this 💚
Van Damme's best dancing is his cameo in Breakin' (aka Breakdance).
Ok the J Michael Strazinsky gag earns this vid a thumbs up 😂👍
I had a copy of Caverns of Fear, it came with an audio tape. the tape was a thing of beauty.
They're still selling them too - nearly bought a 25 quid one yesterday out of morbid curiosity. Ended up settling for one of the newer £10 ones. Ended up with an Elton John mug, a frozen keyring and some 90's TMNT fridge magnets amongst some random poster tat.
I always love these.
He-man fights some gas? With that expression it's more like "He-Man rips a great big guff".
Edit: That card of the Martian with his finger in the guy's eye looks like it was drawn by the the same artist that did the old 2000AD's "Slaine" comics.
I recall the Artist doing a few Judge Dredd comics and they were really rad.
since it says BIZ 94 at the bottom I'm guessing it was Simon Bisley who did work on Slaine.
@@Lukethefox Yeah, I always really liked his art style.
The idea of that goat coming at you in a long dark hallway is terrifying
Yeah, but it isn’t the god of Hyperdeath so i think I’m going to be okay.
He-Man fighting gas is symbolism for combatting a bloated feeling.
Honestly, I would actually like that Psylocke doll, but let me explain lol: I enjoy doll repainting as an art hobby. That doll seems to be nicely articulated and the purple hair is pretty and could be useful. Yes the face/head mold is a bit strange, but it does have a unique and expressive, well, expression lol (even if it's not necessarily the best) so I think taking off the factory paint, painting on a new better face, restyling/redoing the hair to hide the odd head shape, it could be a pretty cool doll for a repaint!
Or using some apoxy clay to repair the head...and shape it better
@@Silver_wind_1987_ Yeah also a good idea, though I would actually probably use apoxy *clay*, which is often used for body sculpting/modifications in doll repaint projects
@@SamLovesMovies25 I was tired when I wrote it heh I can fix that
@@Silver_wind_1987_ Haha no worries, def not a big deal :)
@@SamLovesMovies25 just started college so my brains a bit mooshy
That X-Men figure face reminds me of that Strawberry Shortcake villain
Yes! Love it when I open UA-cam and see a new Ashens video!
As a man of culture, you caught my attention with the phrase "HMV Mystery box".
Alas, imagine my disappointment when I realized.
I don't know why, bu I was hoping for a jump cut of Ashens grumbling and putting together the Matrix jigsaw puzzle.
Imagine Hurbleflurb McGinty showing up and trying to get 'his' book back.
I expected 'I Like It' by Solid Base to come out of that goat.
18:27 that's Simon Bisley, he's worked on 2000AD and heavy metal
Stuart starts laughing less than a minute in, that’s how you know this is gonna be a good video
*"...and then there's some shenanigans..."* lmao
Not just The Joker, it's the Mark Hammil Joker from the animated series. That's a really nice thing.
i used to have that he-man book, this video just brought those memories back.
5:17 was not expecting that reference, but I loved it.
Gosh I love Doctor Who without context, that show is fucking amazing 😁😁😁
Every female Disney villain shares the same looks. And Betsy looks exactly like that.
This video is the boost i needed😁
Much love and respect
We missed you
Yes! The return of the mystery box 👏
The Psylocke figure looks like Mackenzie Zales from the "Most Popular Girls In School" animations. Mackenzie was a three-for-a-dollar doll before she got used in stop-motion animation. I don't suppose Psylock was that cheap.
The skeletons face looks like Ripley’s baby.💀😳😆
Poor thing
Another great video from Hurbleflurb Mcginty and Robo-Goat.
Thank you, I needed some light hearted fun today.
8:46 - Is that... Sean Bean playing Boris Johnson?
That goat is the stuff of nightmares
I love how even all these years later Jim Lee’s X-men is still the definitive go-to for all X-men products
Since I worked at Poundland I can confirm that we did sell the marvel stationary set, and the Avengers erasers. They were a pound, imagine that.
Sweeeet! Was hoping for a box-y thing from you and you delivered!!! Thanks from Toronto :)
Yey new Ashens!
She is new to Asens!
That is apparently what Google thinks the translation of this already English text is, when you translate it into English.
Need to see a showdown between "The Goat" and "The Goose".
Throw in Naughty Animal for good measure.
Enjoying the hilarity of Ashens reading references to Doctor Who stories he’s lost context for.
I thought the alien was drawing Paul from the Chuckle Brothers.
I can't believe someone else actually had this thought.
The DR WHO episode Gridlock was one of my favourate epsiodes,
The goat has a lovely string for wearing around the neck...Forget WW lasso, this is quality neckware.
Those He-Man books came with a record too, or at least had versions that did.
The only thing that can *fight* Black Phillip? That’s Black Phillip’s overlord.
I pledge allegiance to the great luminous goat
Ah beginning Sunday with Ashens. And what's better is that they got Jimmy!! OMG another one where Stuart laughed out loud from something unexpected
A reference to both Baphomet and Black Phillip all in one Ashens video? Consider me quite happy
That matrix puzzle was in one of the only loot crates I bought like 5 years ago. These items have been around for a while.
I had the matrix jigsaw puzzle in a loot crate. I still use the notebook from those crates though.
"He looks like an angry farmer!" 😂😂😂
Police Goat needs a spot on the shelf next to the chicken that lays eggs.
the sound my voice box produced seeing that goat strut that hall.
6:28 i remember having this he-man book, it was the only one i had. I never liked he-man..... i don't remember why i owned that
28:30 I don't blame him for losing it after reading that. Out of context, it sounds like it's been written by someone having a fever dream.
I really need to buy a mystery box for myself to see what it's like. Also I think I've become addicted to this channel
I bought one for myself once because of ashens. I think I gave everything to my niece and nephew.
