Petition to get Jon to release an extended director's cut! I want to see all the extra bits and bobs that didn't make it into the film. Lord of the Rings did it and the extended versions are *spectacular*.
The theatrical cut is the director's cut. For example, the theatrical cut of Gladiator is the director's cut, while the extended edition is just supplementary

It's awesome to see how much he loves all his projects. He'll talk to every single reporter like they're the first person ever hearing about his genius ideas. It's infectious and shows in his work.
That eyebrow bit was pure gold. I can imagine how heartbreaking it was to cut. I saw Wicked once as the regular version, then once in 3D, then on Christmas Day i went to the singalong version.
I'm so glad 2 b alive to witness this great film. JMC is a hero of mine. I've been criticized and rejected ever since I was little by those close to me and colleagues for being "detailed" and loving ultra fine detail and beauty..."oh he's so fernickety", it gives me great pleasure to learn in interviews that JMC is the same.
I want the fully extended director's cut IN THEATRES. Not gonna be satisfied for them to just be on Bluray. Make it a limited time release just before For Good, as part of promo, then again do a limited theatrical run of a director's cut of For Good after both parts release on Netflix
The scene i felt should not have been cut out is when Glinda and elphie are practicing magic and Glinda asks her about why her and fyero was gone and not her. Mostly because it was unclear from the film if Glinda actually was studying magic or not. Hopefully she can do magic in part 2 and it’s explained how she got there
I’d love to see the whole scene of no one mourns the wicked before it was edited for the movie where she sings “you know whooo” on the balcony instead of as she’s arriving in the bubble
I hope so much we get an extended cut. I would love for them to have kept more of the friendship moments between Elphaba and Glinda. It would have made the end even more heartbreaking.
@@saladudeit’s the one that we have flashbacks on when Glinda thinks of Elphaba at the beginning of the movie. Elphaba, Glinda, Nessa, Fiyero and Boq hang out together and have a good time. Fiyero gets shirtless and Boq does too. Just seen it mentioned in articles
Have seen the musical 12 times and the movie 3 times… I can’t wait to get the DVD to rewatch it again and again and all the deleted scenes and commentary!! ❤❤❤
Jon, you made a magnificent film. But when the sequel is done, make the Ultimo Director's version of 1 & 2 combine. Good luck in award's season. You deserve every award win!!! ❣️❣️
That comes with the territory because unfortunately everything cant make it in the final cut. some things have to be cut but that the good part cause out of that, you get extras like bloopers, and deleted scenes
the train sequence in the final cut seemed incredibly rushed to me and underwhelming for such an ornate set piece so I disagree that it helped the pacing to have cut it down
I'm upset that Jon cut the "Cultish social gathering" line from the stage show. It was my favorite part of the show and I could relate to it so much. It was the only thing I really wanted. But Jon cut it. Thanks.

Elphaba says something like "It's absurd, this rich Prince shows up, now everyone is off to worship Him at some cultish social gathering." It's not on the Broadway soundtrack, but its in the show.

I don’t know why there’s so much push for a director’s cut when the push should really be to change the horrendous cover artwork for the base 4K and to replace it with the cool W art work that the gift set 4K has!

That's how I justified going to see it multiple times - I wanted to see it in all the different cinema screening formats: 2D, 3D, ScreenX, IMAX etc. 😅
