Honestly his films always feel so rich in color and in feeling. To quote Harry styles “it feels like a movie.” One of the few directors who makes me feel like a kid again.
John Chu and his family are treasures. His father runs Chef Chu’s Chinese restaurant in Sunnyvale, CA and my family and I have been going there since I was a kid. @@marsb7not to be rude towards what you went through, but Latin American is not a race (or ethnicity), but phrasing like that sounds like saying it is. Gisele Bündchen is White, Samuel Nascimento is Black, Eunice Baía is Native American, Valentina Zenere is White, Pyong Lee is East Asian… They’re all Latin American.
@@maeduss Obviously when someone calls themselves Latina it means they are mixed race because that is the majority in latam. Don’t play dumb. Latinos with one race usually mention their race. What a beautiful interview. Jon M. Chu has directed all of my favourite movies and I didn't even know. He's definitely my favourite director! I can't WAIT to see Wicked! It comes out the week of my birthday!

I’m sure there are other videos or articles more aptly titled to his career if you’re interested in searching those up. This one is surely serving its purpose in garnering views.
He won me over with Crazy Rich Asians. There were 3 distinct scenes that pulled me in. One in particular, made me feel like I was in the scene. I was completely present and absorbed in the moment. I rewatched that movie multiple times, cuz I loved the story and wanted to relive how he transported me in. It was magical. I know he'll do the same with Wicked. I can't wait to see it!
