- This is not a typical Moonhare tutorial! I have a shocking confession and I'm tired of hiding my awful secret. If you enjoy this or my other videos please consider putting a pound or two in the tip jar at www.buymeacoff....
Join me as I embark on my new guitar journey, learning to play acoustic guitar starting with Tony Polecastro's 30 Day Challenge after 41 years of being a self-confessed "Dabbler". I will post some update videos during my first year so you can see how I'm getting on. It is my way of making sure that I 'Don't Stop'!

Lovely, heartwarming video Darren, thank you. You're definitely not alone, I've been a dabbler a bit longer than you actually! There's lots of us about.
Crazy how we just let the years slip by isn't it! Trouble is I've been seduced by the quality of VST guitars these days.
You and me too Darren, I've "played" guitar for 30+ years and still suck. Can only play a few chords. Really good to see your journey and also a bit of your history was really nice to see
I love the quotes around played. Yes that is exactly it so I think you know exactly where I'm coming from.
Lovely to watch and interesting as always Darren and as for the Guitar learning bit, we have all been there and some of us are still there🤣🤣 Thank you for sharing 🙏
Glad to see you enjoying your axe mate. Continuity is always the key!!!
Thanks Si. You are so right.
Thanks for sharing your confession, good to know your giving that guitar some time and love :)
Loved watching this and learning a little more about your story Darren.
Definitely taken the tougher approach learning on acoustic. However it’ll really develop finger strength. Just be careful as your powers grow, mug handles will be snapped, light switches will be destroyed, and rubbing your eye could almost pop it out of socket.
Haha. I didn't think about the consequences of my actions. Just as well I didn't get bitten by the radioactive spider living in my 12 string!
Great video from the heart - thank you! Was getting worried that we wouldn't get to hear you play anything near the end, but you came through. ;-)
Haha. Well if you can call that playing! But it's about enjoying music isn't it and you don't have to be the next Jimmy Page or Richard Thompson to be able to enjoy yourself and the instrument.
@@MoonhareStudio Definitely! (For me it'd be I don't have to be John McLaughlin). :-) Watched the first lesson on YT - there were really good things said that apply to all musicians (and life in general), not just guitarists.
I notice the video says "Heart of Eastern England" I am from Norwich (Now live near Swindon in the west of England) so I wonder if you are from that neck of the wood?
I'm on the Suffolk coast near Woodbridge. My wife did her art degree in Norwich so we know it well
