Olivia's jazzercise era was fire. Her duet with Cliff Richard, "Suddenly" is one of the best duets of the 80's imo.

Yeah, I screamed when they gave the credit to "backup singers" for Olivia's vocals. Ugh! Let's face it, they shouldn't have used this video in the first place when there was a legitimate promo video made for the song. This was a video created years later for a home video release. None of the people in this video except for Olivia were part of the original recording. The youngsters need music consultants like myself to assist them.

She didn't need to promote herself as anything other than a genuine person. But her style in this video is steeped in early 80's - shoulder pads, headbands, long earrings, short stylish hair was all the rage for so many female (and some male artists). She has a duet or two with Andy Gibb that you should find. Also, she recorded "Come On Over" and "Carried Away", both of which were written by the Bee Gees. Another hit of hers I recommend is "Twist Of Fate."

It is funny that Amber said that she would put Olivia up there with Karen Carpenter and Dolly. Olivia and Karen were the closest of friends up until Karen's passing. Olivia took it pretty hard. She was supposed to meet Karen for lunch the day after she passed.

People kind of forget that she started in the country genre (and had a number of hits too) in the early and mid 70's. This song from actually came out on the Totally Hot album before Grease so this was the start of her shedding her good girl image and changing her style. Try "Landslide" and you will see this very clearly-Soul Kiss too.
One of her most astonishing vocals comes from "Big And Strong" in 1987-the note she gets to and holds near the very end of the song is unbelievable. Very clean crisp pure voice and surprisingly versatile

Thank you for featuring ONJ again! If you want a great live performance, please check out "Sam" or "Jolene"" live from her 1982 concert. This will show you her true vocal range. Amazing. Plus just a note: all vocals on this track were ONJ's. She did her own backups.❤

A very underrated icon. She is seldom mentioned among the divas of the late 70s and 80s, but she deserves to be. She added a sensuality and sexiness to her music that was, nonetheless, quite wholesome.

Thank you for continuing to include all of the hits from this most amazingly beautiful human being. I have to rant about how extraordinary she was a a person... add physical beauty and angelic voice and were approaching something otherworldly. She as a long history of music from multiple genres to sustain us. Songs from Physical: Falling; Carried Away; Landslide are all superb. The Physical album is a beginning to finish one. Songs pre-Physical: If Not For You; Let Me Be There; I Honestly Love You; Have You Never Been Mellow; If You Love Me (Let Me Know); Please Mr Please; Country Girl; Follow Me; Come on Over are all amazing. Thanks again.
