The only reason I can't get a bird is I just physically couldn't keep up with the constant clean up...And I would not want them to just live in the cage! They are just too special and deserve lots of affection♡

Yep! That's the life. :) I get the best hugs and snuggles. Its the MOST wonderful feeling to open the door even if i was gone for 20 minutes and my birbs rush over to greet me like i was gona a year! Id clean all the floof and poos for even half of this feeling!! 100% worth all of it!!
Same. The room my birds are in have darkening curtains. So they sleep in until about 9am. Then they will slowly start chatting very softly. Once they hear me up and moving around they start singing loudly. That's when I open the curtains and let them out.
Mine always tries to steal my sunflower seeds and sometimes manages to grab one and run off. They're salty and salt is bad for birds, so I always end up needing to chase her down to take it back. It's kind of funny chasing after a tiny bird saying, "drop it!" as if I'm talking to a dog.
Get her a bag of unsalted sunflower seeds and let her enjoy some of hers while you enjoy yours 😁👍 Eating together is lovely. My bird always starts eating if he sees me eat. That includes snacking 😆

Just don’t leave the water and the bird unattended if there is a possibility they could get stuck. I would be worried about leaving a glass like in the video alone with a bird to long. I would be afraid they would drown but for sure see if your bird will bathe in it. Just supervised. I worry for my birdies so much and I try to anticipate danger for them.
I don't have a budgie but do own a cockatiel and can understand it pretty well My f feathery baby wakes me up every morning by getting on me and chirping , always wants to eat my food and drink whatever I'm drinking, the poop and fewthers becomes. Something you get used to . In the end it's worth it tough
Do not let them out of the cage when you are asleep. My friend left her bird while she was sleeping. During her sleep, he flew and stood beside her. She turned on him while she was sleeping. Unfortunately, the bird suffocated.💔😭

These were my favorite parts, well, except the cleanup, at one point i started living symbiotically with my birds, extra food kn my plate and eating eith them, bringing them to the shower with me, leaving the sink running for a sec after im done with it so they can play, letting them groom me pretty freely, idk, we just kinda lived together, my birds were more like roommates 😂
They should be in a covered cage at night. And that would solve the problem with them waking you up too early. They’re fragile birds and shouldn’t be flying around if you’re asleep and unable to watch over them.
I agree fully on the last part. But during summertime my birds are woken up by the birdies outside with their morning songs since in summertime the day starts early. But I've learned to sleep through their noises 😊

He’s a very handsome lad if I do say so myself! I had a pretty blue parakeet when I was younger. We had cats so he lived with my grandmother. He was very sweet.
I don't have parakeets but I had a chicken who lives indoors (special needs) and the poop and feathers everywhere is super relatable. I know it's too gross for a lot of people but the reward of having such a loving feathery bird who snuggles you on movie nights is worth it. They just keep you in the habit of cleaning! 😂
@@karinalarasart it's important to make sure they have vaccinations and are not in contact with infected birds' grounds. There is still a risk, yes, however there are preventative measures. If I was immunocompromised, I'd definitely not try to keep one indoors

For real! I adopted an apartment, and got a couple budgies as part of the deal, it's an old house that was converted into studios. I'm constantly checking the carpeted areas for feather I may have tracked. And I do track them at least one every few days. And the two I have are about to beging the soft molt..
I miss these times with my bird , she's dead 😭😭she was my best friend ever in my dark days she was the light making me smile all the time , god bless all you and your birds

One of my hens is also a strong believer in the sharing is caring mantra. Just the other day I was eating an ice lolly. She flew over and started pecking pieces off as quick as she could before I stopped her because she KNEW she wasn't allowed to have it. Birds are smarter (and much more selfish) than we might at first think!

I thought my bird was the only one that took baths in my water cup. Unless I drink water from a cup it will never take a bath!! Annoying but cute
