I finally got a PC-Engine last year, then the Krikzz Card and EDFX. It cost me the same as if I had bought an Analogue Duo, but I like it more at it's real hardware. I can also play the libary on the MiSTer or even the Pi3B. It's just fun to have so many wonderful options to play these classic games.
My favorite way to play turbo and turbo cd games is using the analogue pocket with the TV dock and the 8bitdo turbo graphics 2.4ghz controller. Love it!
@@volvoguy804 they look great and I haven’t even updated to the latest 2.0 firmware for the new filters/screen modes. I’m sure it can look even better or at least have more options
6:00. That's why I just hook it up to a B&O MX4000. 30-40€, the Megadrive RGB-SCART cable and you are ready to rock. Splendid CRT graphics and magnificent stereo sound out of the box.
I’d love to have the turbo mini but I was never able to get one when they came out. Now they are to expensive. Really wish they would release another wave of them
i have the TE-V2, such a great piece of hardware, supports tg-16/PCE and it does support the super graphx/cd but that requires the extended hardware, but overall the OG hardware is the way to go. well worth it if you want to play if you want to go OG, but if not, theres always emulation like you said is free. but the OG way is just great :)
In case you want to use the Teddy Pro with the Duo when you unbox it. You don't need to take the plate off, just the two front screws. You can leave the others. Works fine in my Duo. Nice thing is, you can play them any way you want to.
I was able to get a spark plug but I don't know if it will work like that EDFX. I didn't test because I got the Teraonin add-on. I got the really nice Retrofrog magnetic case for Turbo Everdrive Pro.
Here in the EU the EDFX seems not the best option. There is a Swedish eBay seller that makes a direct EXT-Bus to SCART cable. Much neater solution, and 50€ with free shipping.
I would consider this option of playing the pc engine if that EDFX adapter would also have hdmi output built-in. As it is, there are way too many accessories needed to play on pc engine. The cost of that setup rivals or even exceeds the price of an Analogue Duo which is plug and play, and this is what I want, a modern plug and play solution. I do understand though that this can be an option for others who want to maybe switch between a CRT with RGB and a HDMI monitor, but it's not for me. The Turbo Everdrive Pro is definitely on my radar though 😁.
I'm a fan of playing old school games on original hardware. I've got tons of burned sega saturn games and I really enjoy playing the fan translations when they come out
I just recently got into TG16/PCE. I play on a RetroFreak Console which is older but doesn't support cd games or supergrapfx, for those I will use my polymega. But have thought about getting a all in one duo-r
@pungisotu underrated system that isn't retron5. I feel the retron5 firmware and system failure rate over shadowed the multiconsole with a bad impression. This came out around the Sametime. I just learned you can get Famicom disk system on it as well.
@@SpectrumReviews the aftermarket cost is still pretty high last I checked. I think it does SG-1000 games too. Not the prettiest thing but gets the job done and plays some ROMs and rom hacks I couldn’t get working on Everdrive. Are you able to use the controller adapter for OEM controllers? Mine originally worked and stopped one day. I read it’s a firmware thing but don’t recall updating.
Less ware and tare plus keeps dust out 👍. I found a nes with mario 3 in it and it was really hard to get out like it was the only game ever played in it. The pins in the nes are like new.
I wonder when there will be cards for the Sega Master System. I know there weren't that many games on cards but there were a few and having a Everdrive for the Sega Master System card games would be nice.
Come on Konami, give us more TG-16 Minis. I got my Analouge Pocket so I don't NEED it but I will give you money, not some low life scalper. Until then, it's best to get the Duo and the Turbodrive.
I think it's sensible to do both, I am not in the habit of risking my £100+ original Hu's and especially CD's "Agghhh!" Yeah it has happened! I now generally play back-up's unless say the game is living in the machine until completion or I am playing the GT. Is this your favorite machine? I've noticed over the years on here you've covered the system and its variants' pretty extensively, and on that note I am wondering if you have any lesser heard of games that you'd recommend, I am thinking great stuff like IMAGE FIGHT and NAXAT GOLF that barely get a mention and weirdly both are still fairly cheap.
Also the Turbo Everdrive Pro has problems with the audio in Gate Of Thunder (it was a pack in game with the real Turbo Duo) as does the Analogue Duo, and its firmware hasnt been updated in about 9 months. It’s actually kind of a bummer.
I have a modded for RGB Core Grafx with a Turbo Everdrive, and im thinking of upgrading to the Pro, Do I need the EDFX to play the CD games (I heard it plays CD games but outputs in mono sound only without the EDFX - which I dont mind, can you confirm you get that from the normal PCE output) or would you need both the pro and EDFX to play CD games?
Hey, Ron, would love to see if hackchi ever made a hack on the turbographx16 Mini. I don't play that thing nearly as much as my other hacked minis. Thanks
Xcellent video about the Xtraordinary Core Grafx from the everything needs to have an "X" to be Xtreme era! 🤣At least we still the Xbox as a living relic of that time.

I personally wouldnt, I mean does the Super SD System 3 Pro do everything you need? Are you fine with how it works? If so why waste the time and money trying to swap out? Both are great options in my opinion, both with there own pros and cons.

Yeah it’s called Mister. Way better than using a Turbo Everdrive Pro or Analogue Duo if you actually like the games and youre not just looking for something to put on a shelf. The Mister core is far far better.
