Hooking up extra LED reverse lights to my F150 . I had taillight housing off looking to splice at that point. Searching web on some tips I saw your video and realized..wow..I didn't even think of splicing trailer electronics. Thanks man. Made this job so much easier. First time ever subscribing to any UA-cam stuff. 2 thumbs-up. Rick H.
Ford really dropped the ball on the backup light category. Thanks for sharing - most of us use the foot on the brake pedal while reversing to create some kind of light.
Nice I plan to do the same soon on my 2015 F150 Lariat. I have the exact same lights right now on my front bull bar but I got new ones for the front so I am going to move them to the back. I do want them setup to turn on for work lights without having to be in reverse.
I love this video, but question. Do you know how to use forscan to force zone lighting on when the vehicle goes in reverse? I have the same 2016 Lariat and that light makes it easier for me to see all around in the 360 cameras, i just wish it came on automatically when i put the vehicle in reverse.
Good video, I would not recommend using those connectors on the exterior of a vehicle. You'll eventually have issues with corrosion from them getting wet.
Love your mods, but that’s not a proper splice,it may work in the south where there’s no road salt but here in Ny that would not last 2 winters ,it would turn green and corrode ,salt water would travel down the wiring and ruin a good portion of the wiring harness , splices outside the cab need to be 100 percent weathertight .Does the truck think there’s a trailer connected every time you put it in reverse .
I thought I might but luckily do not. I even tried adjusting the trailer brake and the truck still said "no trailer detected". Thanks for watching Peter!
Anyone have a link to one of these lights that is decent quality? Also what’s the voltage and amps of the lights? Could I also put a camera on this circuit?

I have a 2020 F-150 and need your help on how you did yours. I tried hooking it to the blue reverse light and that was a fail
Brilliant! This is a thourough and well done tutorial. Thank you very much.
Thanks again! This was the perfect video for what I needed to do to my truck.

Ok folks. Dielectric grease, wire protection and inline fuse @ least added to power supply for protection.

Thanks Kingkola! but no, forscan cannot do this. There might be a way to hard wire it this way, but could be a challenge.
@@ricardosworkshop i've searched everywhere online and can't find how to wire it, but thank you for the reply.
Good detailed instructions.
maybe I missed it but the reverse wire is setup for trailer battery charging. did you jump something out under the dash?
thanks for the video. i need these lights for backing up the boat trailer
When you hooked up the lights did your sensors continue working?
Mine did not.
Any idea?
Mine are fine. But i did worry about them interfering. Maybe clead the sensors or pu a washer behind them to push them out some... good luck
Thanks for the video!

You are correct. I'm gonna go back and redo them on a future video. With new lights. 👍
Nice job dude

Where did you find your lights? I like the shape and size.
Thanks Steve. I got them on Ebay. No particular seller. They were under $15. Thanks for watching!
Look for nilight on amazon
Good job.
Thank you very helpful!
Hey buddy, since you tapped into the trailer light socket, are you getting any interference on your dash showing that a trailer is connected?
I thought I might but luckily do not. I even tried adjusting the trailer brake and the truck still said "no trailer detected". Thanks for watching Peter!
I have that same issue. Did you figure anything out?
Interesting. What year, model truck?
Ricardo's Workshop 2012 F150 Lariett
