    Good on you, I installed an air horn on my 2017 Dodge. Holy crap what a pain. It all came back to me watching you run the wire under your truck haha. I love your LEDs in your bumper, I may do the same thing BUT, I will pay someone to do it for me (I’m not as young or ‘handy’ as you). I managed to knock about a shovel full of dried dirt into my eyes when under my truck.

    Those piercing type connectors are fine if you don’t live in a corrosive climate. Nice install.

    They are short cut wires to the up fitter switch’s in the kick panel on the driver side

    Good video, did you tyrap the wires to the frame?
    I like those connectors that you have that don’t involve soldering.
    Can a guy ‘creates’ his own ground by getting the frame down to bare metal and attaching to that?

    Those blue connectors are excellent when you fill them with silicon first. The silicon willseal the exposed wire and connector from the elements.

    Thanks for the explanatory video.
    Comment: Ford, get smart and put the relay in the engine compartment. That way, the only wire needed to be soldered would be the “power out” wire (from the relay’s pin 87) soldered to the positive wire running to the LED light installed in the bumper.
    Question 1: of that group of 18 wires, 4 of them go thru the firewall as you indicated. Where do the other 14 wires go?
    Question 2: could you not simply run the ground wires from the rear LED lights you installed to a body ground?

    How have the lights held up... Any moisture issues?

  • @bigrig55555

    Question. Would it matter if each light were grounded to the vehicle SEPARATELY or alternatively how about if both grounds (one from each light) were connected together and then ground to a single point? Would the differences determine series or parallel? Please explain. TYSM

    If I was just running an up fitter switch that needed to be wired in the cab only, would I just connect to one of the wires under the dash and not both?

  • @greghanley6541

    How would you wire them if you don’t have upfitter switches. Could you tap into the reverse lights?

    • @larrrevenga49
      @larrrevenga49 3 роки тому

      The added lights may over load the rated amperage for normal brake light rated relays and switches . Example if normal amperage for brake light are 10 amps and you add lights that draw over 10 amps the fuse will blow .but if it under brake light amps it would work fine

    • @a-1janitorialservices754
      @a-1janitorialservices754 2 роки тому +1

      @@larrrevenga49 That's why you use a relay. Minimal power from reverse light to activate relay then power is drawn from battery.

    What size wire did you use?

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  2 роки тому

      I used 16 gauge because that’s what I had but you could definitely use smaller than that, much smaller actually because the wires that go through the fire wall are pre-installed are smaller. LED require an extremely small voltage draw.

  • @sterlingwitherspoon5709

    Why did t you just tap the wires into the rear tail light or trailer wires

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  5 місяців тому

      I wanted to be able to turn them on with the truck and park. And if I tied into the reverse lights, I wouldn’t be able to do that.

    Why go through all that work, why didn't you just tap into the existing reverse lights?

    • @ethanklaver2249

      Because how are you going to go outside to hook up a trailer or a secure a load if your trucks in reverse and you have no other source of control over the lights..

      so you can use them while in park to hookup or load a trailer etc
