Hello Beautiful people! I forgot to mention in my video, when baking with square pans, ensure to spread your batter or move it towards the four edges so that you have it levelled not just on top but around the corners as well, this helps you to a great extent when trimming else you would have to fill them up to have your cakes straight. Hope you understand?❤️ Thanks for watching!
Thank you ma for your selflessness. Pls ma, am in urgent need of a good rich fruit cake recipe and procedure. I want to learn that from you online. Won't mind paying for the class.
Your video is amazing. My problem about trimming is that the top of my cake is not always levelled after covering with fondant both for the round and square cake. Pls what do you suggest for me?
Thank you so much, Cindy! Sounds to me like a trimming issue or imbalance in the layers after stacking. Please get a spirit level from a hardware store. When you are done with trimming and layering, place it on your cake, and you'd see if the cake is levelled before you proceed to covering. Hope this helps.
Ran into your channel last night and I started bench watching 😂. Really loved all the wedding cake videos. Question on the buttercream filling, does it still give the fruitcake the long shelf life? How long will the cake last with the buttercream?
Thanks Maureen and welcome to the Family!🤗❤️ Thanks for your feedback. It's not the buttercream that determines the shelf life of the fruit cake but if you want it to stay longer, these are the best options, avoid using milk in your buttercream and then freeze to preserve.
@@OluchiImoh thank you for the feedback. I needed to know if the buttercream affects the cake coz most people in my country save their wedding cake for a whole year (which is possible with fruit cakes) to cut it on their anniversary with their bridal team.
Alright, I quite understand. It's done here as well, I have heard of a few stories but then I am not so sure of it's popularity and can't verify on how it was preserved or stored up to a year (heard of one that was kept under the bed, but then again, I don't know how possible.) So, you can play it safe by cutting off the use of buttercream but ensure you bake right and also if possible, make enquiries from those in your location who have an idea of how this is done. I believe these would help.
@@OluchiImoh under the bed 😂😂😂😂 okay. I think I see them do away with the buttercream completely, I’ll bake a small sample and do it your way just to see how it will taste after two weeks then try again after 4weeks. Again, thank you.
@@ThisGirlisOnFireKe Fantastic, that's the way to go. I don't know if this would also help, I know for Christmas, people also feed the Cake with brandy from time to time so it ages and still keeps well. So maybe bake two small samples and explore these options. Cheers and all the best!
Hello Miracle, thanks a lot for your kind compliment! I have wrapped up for the year but once I am set for next by God's grace, I will put out details.

Hi ma'am, beautiful trimming but doesn't this cake need dowelling before trimming?
Thanks, Tina. Either way works fine, and I do both. This cake was sturdy enough, and there was no need for that.
