This is a nice technique, but I feel it just cause a lot of cake loss. Trimming doesn't have to involve 2 different cake pan sizes, what if it's more than one cake layer, will we use all different pan sizes?
Thank you so much for this. I have a question though, please how can I stop my cakes from shrinking? Is it the quality of my pans or what? 6" will turn to 4" before I remove it from the pan, its so painful.
Ok first of all ...start lining your pans before baking ...then secondly as soon as your cakes are of the oven...tap the pan on a hard surface...before removing the baking paper...this tip will help
You can use triming disc ... but for Beginners...this is the only way they can get it right and perfect or you can use a size 9 cake and another size 9½ cake for this... This is like carving out the main thing for fondant cake decorating especially
What recipe did you use for the cakes please, it looks really stable and easy to work with

Check your recipe and oven temperature
Very detailed video..
Thanks....
Going by the video..does it mean that if you want to trim, one pan needs to be bigger than the other???
Yes please...so that the bigger cake will serve as a guide when trimming

@@darecipequeen A dumb answer. Sorry.
Can I sharpen my knife
Thank u ma. Have had hard time trimming and it doesn't come out well at all
Are each of this cakes 1 layers
Please can you post how you made these cakes
What if it's same size.
Say size 7 each.??
should I follow the process?
You will end up having a smaller cake..and trimming might be difficult

Letting ur cake cool in the pan can also be the cause.. So just ur pan sit for 5 mins b4 removing the cake to cool finally on rack
But there are literally some recipes that behave this way, you need a stable recipe
@@darecipequeen thank you for replying. I'll try this next time
@@Ariellebakess can you refer me to one please?
Cake recipe please
Nice cake buh I think the trimming was a bit too much
That's right so much wasted
Ok ma wot if dey r d same size won't u achieve perfect trimming
You can trim but the desired size will reduce drastically
Alot of cakes was wasted ma. Is there no other way?
You can use triming disc ... but for Beginners...this is the only way they can get it right and perfect or you can use a size 9 cake and another size 9½ cake for this... This is like carving out the main thing for fondant cake decorating especially
My thought
Too much cake wasted, why do we hav to do this?
😃😃to get the best
Pls why is my cakes always hard at the side.
Atimes....heat that is high oven temperature caused that... just reduce your heat and also line your pan if possible
OK thank you ma'am
Use baking trips. You can buy or make your own with old tea towels or paper tower and foil paper.
I feel there is alot of cake "wasted" here.
Yes...nothing good comes easy
What a waste.
