    was there in about 2006 loved the CBP, wild burros, and cattle, on that six mile long dirt road ride in, and the view of Kitt mountain at sunset, not to forget the twilight blackhawks heading south also. Almost everyone carried a sidearm so you felt safe at the campground, what great memories.....

    I watched Bob Wells UA-cam video on this ranch. It looks like a really great place. I don't retire for 2 more years from Western Oregon .Looking forward to some warm Sunny weather. I hope this place still has spots when I retire.

      That desert night especially in the winter gets to freezing so don't think it's all sunshine over there in Arizona. I know, I used to live there for years on the outskirts of the main big city and there's only 2 big cities in Arizona and that's Tucson and Phoenix with all of its smaller cities.

    We were at Caballo Loco 2021 - 22 (6) month winter season. Had a great time. We're heading back to our same site this October 2022 for season II. A whole herd of us from all over the states and more are returning: Ohio, New York, Israel, Shrilanka, Michigan, Arizona, Calufornia, Mexico and South Dakota. It's a beautiful property but a bit rough & harsh for your average camper.

    RED FLAG! 🚩
    This might have been a good place when Bob Wells came and reviewed it, but things have dramatically changed. Lots are now postage stamp size. All new lot rentals are just sliver of what (pre-Bob Wells) would have been your full lot. New lots are uncomfortably small, cramped and quite ugly, dusty dirt patches carved into the hillside. The location is pretty but extremely remote. Watch for illegals crossing land. Water tastes very bad but I was told is tested and ok to drink however this was an old mining town and water likely has contamination from mine. I’m really not sure how the county can approve tripling capacity like this as there is no new sewer infrastructure to support this level of growth and land use. I wouldn’t be surprised if the county shut this down.

      That's sad that the owner would damage the pleasant atmosphere of the ranch by shrinking lot size so drastically. I'm now thinking of crossing this place off my list of possible places to stay for a while.

      @@larsturner310 how do you know it's a valid review?

    • @alicehallam7949
      @alicehallam7949 4 роки тому +8

      @@larsturner310 I think this review is not correct in that lot sizes vary. If you want to get a better location lots are smaller; If you want a large lot it is more remote. So it's a trade-off. I hope everybody understands too that Caballo Loco Ranch is a rental only situation.

      @@keepitrealoriginal if you have to stay at the campground wen your husband is working I am afraid it’s to lonely.....mostly older people. No activity. And 1 hour drive to the shops. I will give you the advice to go to deserttrailsrvpark.com beautiful rv park with a lot of things to do. Or diamondjrvparks.com. They are a bit more expensive but the people will help you to learn the in and outs of rv camping. Don’t go to the expensive rv resorts 😊. You can make new friends and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Sorry if my English is not perfect I am a Dutchy living in the Netherlands. I must say, I agree with O.P. ... I personally prefer more greenery, but I guess a brief visit in the desert is alright (doable) for me. I also like a cooler climate--50s temps is good to me, getting uncomfortable if above 65, 70s is considered hot for me.
