Just wanted to tell you that I thoroughly enjoy your videos! They are scenic, thoughtful, humorous, intriguing, interesting and very entertaining. Thank you for a wonderful video. I binge watched a few episodes when I first discovered your channel. Had to reign myself in and set limits or I would have run out of our visits. That’s what these feel like. We are sitting at the kitchen table and you are sharing pictures and stories of your travels, trials, tribulations and triumphs! Good Job Sir. Very Good Job.
Love this channel so fkn much I love the honesty and transparency, the videography and editing to your videos, and your in depth narration . Your top notch for sure please keep it up Slim:)
Just so ya know, the beans in the fry bread most likely are made with lard. Also the bread may also be fried in lard. No biggie for carnivores like me, but probably not what Slim would prefer. Stay safe out there Slim!
This video is high quality editing. It was enjoyable to watch unlike so many other RVers and Van dweller UA-camrs. This video good easily be viewed on TVs Travel Channel Nat Geo etc. Well done sir.
You are great! Thank you so much for your time& thoughts. Both of my grown children are established in AZ . Now with granddaughters there , I’ll be coming out from CA much more. Single, and carefully spending, having free sites is really wonderful.
You're the best, SLIM!!! I adore your videos and appreciate your artistry and the time you put in to making great videos. Your humor is a bonus. Keep up the good work and keep crankin' them out!!!
I just watched your video about some stops around the Phoenix & Tucson areas and found them rather interesting and educational. As a woodworker, I find creativeness everywhere. I have never seen the trick of turning a thorn into a musical needle.... Thanks for showing me that. You can learn something new every day. Hope to see you in the wild as a full-time. Traveler myself with my wife and three dogs , We have been enjoying This lifestyle Four years now.
We live in AZ and it is amazing that we have travelled out of state missing so many wonders in our home state. Thank you for show us boondocking places that we are going now
Your quite an interesting and eclectic character, and I love your goofy wit. I appreciate that you seem to live in the moment and squeeze the marrow... Thanks for sharing
Great video! As a resident of Arizona, I had to smile when you said its "warm" in the 80's..we call that winter here :) So many great spots to visit in my back yard..thank you.
I’m glad you enjoyed our fair state. People should know, though, that you can camp for free on any BLM land for up to two weeks in one location, and we have a BOATLOAD of BLM land ALL around the state. Happy travels 🙂
Arizona is my favorite place in the US, coming from Illinois i am always taken with the wild beauty and dry terrain of the desert, lived in Tempe for awhile and miss it very much, going back soon.
I love all of your videos. I've been binge watching your videos and never get tired of all the neat adventures and feel like I'm right there with you having a great time too.
The "without drama" remark - amen! (seems like many who make vids r either ignorant of where they r, who may b watching their vids, etc. Nice to watch & listen to someone with common sense & no agenda! Luv ya Slim! T.
I work in Japan and come home for the summers to America. My daughter is making it in the Japanese music industry and my original plan was for her to pay for a cabin in Alaska for me. Your videos have changed my mind and she will be buying me an Aliner with a good truck to tow it!
wow, this is a amazing hidden place to visit in Arizona.. this area will be hotter than little bit.. I want to go over there and would like to enjoy it... thanks for sharing your video.
Slim, just love your old gramma phone. I remember an old Victrola we had when I was a kid, would play old carbon records. Thanks for sharing all the great information.
Great job showcasing desert camping in my home state. Looking forward to seeing some forest camping coverage on your way back home, far too may people think this entire state is desert!
Definitely one of my favorite videos...love your brand of humor. The info on your boondocking places and visual footage helped me greatly on making some decisions. Love the Ajo area, Thank you again for making my life easier.
As always your videos are awesome. I like them a lot because i own a 2018 esp A -frame from Rockwood so when i see your videos it gets me pumped up to head out and go to some of your spots. Especially that one you had at the grand canyon where you were right on that rim. That was just breathtaking. So keep the videos coming, and many more safe travels to you.
Really enjoy the humor you incorporate into your video presentations. Thumbs up for the first and last campsites in this video. No thanks to the others. Your Indian taco made with fry bread looked yummy, but don't overlook the opportunity to treat yourself to fry bread enjoyed in the traditional manner, either drizzled with honey or dusted with cinnamon and sugar. Try it both ways, and see whether you can decide on a favorite.
You got me interested in boondocking in AZ back in 2018, then retired, bought a used TT and headed south to AZ from Winnipeg Mb in Dec 2019 as a solo snowbird. Had the time of my life till the big C hit in March 2020 and have not been back, but planning to again go back this Dec🤞. First place i stayed was one of your spots Snyder Hill. One of my favourite spots was near Yuma but ill keep that one a secret 😉. Thanks Slim.
Clever cactus needle! I think I had a smile on my face all the way through this video. The plus is, giving names to plants, I see so many videos of plants , not many do I know what I am looking at. Nice touch. We only have 'fried bread' at the fairs, but, I've never bought any, I may change my mind, seeing how much you enjoyed yours. You and I part company on the pizza pockets tho', I don't do prepared foods, altho' I can see how convenient they are for people on the move.
I really enjoyed this video. Thanks so much. Nice little bits of info AND not too long. 5 campsites in one short video works for me! Can't wait to go to Ajo. Loved all the colorful art you showed.
I liked your cowboy music and vintage video, well done 👍very professional. I have a feeling you’ve narrated before UA-cam. Or just a natural...a pleasure to watch non the less. thank you 🙏🏼
Great video! I'm now a new subscriber, just based on this one. I realize this was posted awhile back, but if you are still trying to find out about your cooking rack, it's a cooling rack for baked goods, like cookies or cakes. You can find them by the cookie sheets and pie pans in the cookware sections of stores. I used one way back in a small stove that didn't come with any interior racks, and it worked great. Fit perfectly on the little interior rack holders.
You found some nice spots. The Oak Flat area is at risk of being lost in a land swap to the mines in the area. I am not sure of the current status. You were close on the jets. They are from Luke AFB on the northwest side of Phoenix and they are headed to the Barry Goldwater Gunnery Range, a large restricted land area in the southwest area of the state. It is an area you would not want to explore because there are probably some unexploded weapons laying around! Luke has been a primary training base for the F16 and is transitioning to the F35. Will you be spending anytime in sunny and warm southern Arizona or Mexico this winter? You do a great job of showing the area. That fry bread sure looked good. I think the bird attacking your jeep is a female phainopepla. It may have seen its reflection in the window and thought it was another bird invading its territory. That is common in the spring nesting season. Cactus wrens do that a lot. Thanks for the video.
Looking forward to new videos of the area. I always learn new things. This video taught me about the hot springs and the nice plaza in Ajo as examples.
Do you know any free camping places near Phoenix Arizona we live in Phoenix Arizona and are looking for places to go camping as a family we would like to take our baby camping like we got to do as kids we are from Michigan so we don't know a lot of places to go camping here
Gary .... It would helpful if you could specify what you consider close and to what area of the Phoenix valley and also what kind of camping you are planning to do, tent, van, travel trailer, class A, etc. There are six Maricopa County campgrounds (Cave Creek, McDowell, Usury, White Tank, Estrella, Lake Pleasant) and Dutchman State Park but they charge in the low $30s for hookups and low $20s for ones that offer no hook ups. They have nice sites. There is Forest land north around Seven Springs and north of Apache Junction good for tents but RV spots may be harder to find. There are some Tonto Forest camp grounds so check their web site. They may charge. I do not know of "close" free. There are some BLM spots but most are not in areas that may not be what you have in mind for a family "camping" experience and are not real close.
It can be a lot of work to make a video this good. Thanks so much. Glad you discovered fry bread! I'll be in AZ this winter as a new full timer with years of solo wilderness travel experience so I'm interested in boon docking places. For pizza you can buy Naan bread. It is shaped like fry bread. Toast it on your grill on one side. Flip it over and add pizza sauce and any toppings you want and you'll have pizza. Cheers!
Loved the shots of Ajo. I’m am nature girl, but also love exploring small towns, especially ones that have something unique/interesting about the place/people/food etc. Thanks for the great videos!
Thanks for the Arizona boondocking ideas. We stopped at 3 of them last winter and stayed at a couple. The Tucson one was just too cramped (and unscenic) for us so we stayed at the nearby County campground near the Old Tucson movie town and the (West) Saguaro National Park. Ajo was an intriguing spot. We enjoyed the architecture too and dancers practicing in the Plaza. Camped further south, just outside Organ Pipe NM. Saddleback Mtn is a great boondocking spot for scenery and collecting fire agates. We’ll definitely have to check out the Hot Wells.
Oak flat camping ground is a really great spot if you go late February March there is a lot of water from the snow forms of pond great ways to kick back watch the animals come in, and see what pops out of the water good fish . Loved you video. 🚙

I lived five years in Arizona and never knew about them. Congratulations for finding them!
wow!! great video ❤️
I am thoroughly enjoying your video production style. Thanks for cracking me up while being very informative.

Really nice video! Thanks for making it.
Photography great. Content great. Usefulness, great. Just a plain old well done video. Thanks. Hope to see you at Gold Butte this year.
I shall make a trip to AJO just for the fry bread! Another awesome video, Slim.
I like how you walked around the back of your aliner and reappeared leaving from inside it! Great photography magic!
Your videos are more enjoyable than the travel shows on TV. Great work and information for the road.
My your cute im moving to AZ next year alone big MH and cargo trailer

Well... Dang... U showed me some places I've never been to! And I live in AZ!! Nice... very nice!
Glad u enjoyed our native bread!
Phonagraphic needle ideas were AWESOME.
That was a great idea by using a needle for the phonograph. Take care
Thanks for providing the details on how to find these wonderful places. I live near Scottsdale and plan to visit some of them soon!
Your videos are always entertaining Slim. Keep them coming!
It just dawned on me that you are the Rick Steves of the Aliner set. So enjoyable and well done. Thank you for the effort to share your travels :)
Great video! Love your humor! At 10:23... Love how you not only captured the flower, but the cactus growing on the cliff in the background.

Just found your channel, Subbed!! I grew up in Arizona and remember eating fry bread with honey as a kid.

Ken Hollywood well, to be specific, you led people to believe there are only 5 spots. In fact, there’s BLM land EVERYWHERE in AZ.
@@DMills-un1tl but these are halfway attractive. Quartzsite looks like a trailer graveyard or something along those lines.

"Always go where the road takes you." - That's why I bought a jeep. Thanks for the great video!
The drive between Superior and Globe down into Phoenix is a great drive up, over and through mountain passes.
You have a great sense of humor and write a terrific script. I am so glad to have found your channel - it's loads of fun.
Amazing that a cactus needle can play a Gram. U gave me a smile on my face today.
Just love the positive and actually very learningful content you share. Thanks for doing that and Greetings from WW2HistoryHunter.
I pass through Ajo often and love the town square, church and paintings! Great video! Loved the Apocalypse Now moment!

Thanks, PotatoHead for your Arizona camping sites.
Hi Slim - the cooking rack with folding legs is a cake/cookie cooling rack. If you get more than one you will find that they're stackable.
Haven’t had fry bread in decades. May just have to drive to Arizona and get some! Yum. Thanks for another fabulous vid!
Loved the shots of Ajo. I’m am nature girl, but also love exploring small towns, especially ones that have something unique/interesting about the place/people/food etc. Thanks for the great videos!
You’re more knowledgeable than most Americans. Thanks for the info.
Loved the reenactment of one of my favorite movies. 😁
It is a cooling rack for cookie and such.

Thank you for all your great videos. Ajo was my home town and it did my heart good to see you enjoying it!!
Yes, agreed. Love the smell of creosote after a rain

Grew up in Arizona, 50's. Too bad about Buckeye Hills. I wish they would try to regulate things better, rather than just shutting things down.
