- BAKA! I got the Mezco 5 Point XL Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla set. I opened it. I broke it.

I'm going to have to rush out and buy me a Set.
if the line keeps going, i will buy anything they release. If they eventually do Heisei and millenium i'd love to have those, especially a GMK set.
Space Amoeba i would buy immediately but i think that is too obscure for mezco to consider. would be great though
Another collector who doesn't care about the packaging, yay! I take my figures out and display them, as well.
And yes- King Cesar is a lovely, unique kaiju, so glad you have one for the shelf! And Hedorah's a wild find, awesome!
I buy toys, not boxes! There are rare cases where I will keep something in box (like my Fay Wray Barbie), but usually I want to see it and pose it. It's one of the multiple reasons why I haven't gotten into things like ReAction... I know they're supposed to stay on-card and I cannot countenance that!
I feel your pain on the breakage. My Mechagodzilla's peg on his left arm nearly broke off when I initially tried to remove it from his wrist hole. It's torn halfway, so I now only put the hand back in halfway because I don't want to risk it breaking fully off inside the arm. Those beam effects always worry me with how fragile they are, but I love this Mezco line. I wish they would announce the next set sooner rather than later so we can have it out by mid-2025.
Oh no! That's even worse than my break! I haven't glued my beam effect in yet, but that's okay... I only have him displayed with the rocket fingers because putting in all the weapon effects is too much anyway 😆 Considering how long it took them to finally roll this set out, and their lack of announcements for anything new, I'm functionally considering this line dead until I'm pleasantly surprised.
@@MonsterKidCory Yeah, I'm very worried because that means my only option to complete the Showa era monsters is now going to be through Super7's ReActions. They're smaller, but right now they'll have to do.
It will suck though as these Mezco figures were putting everyone else to shame. No one else has bothered to give us a rich cast of teh Showa era.
@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork Amen... I recount this in my reviews, but I LOVE that these are beautiful, multi-figure sets of Showa monsters at a collectible size and reasonable price point for what you get. I can't imagine buying individual Bandais of King Cesar or Baragon or whoever, or filling entire bookcases with a massive Bandai collection, but buying one box and getting a variety of different Showa kaiju that can all fit on one shelf is great. It's a risky business though, and the further along the line goes the deeper down the barrel they'll have to scrape. I still think they could do great with a vs. Megalon set, and an Ebirah set, but after that? I'm not holding out hope for a King Kong Escapes set, or a Space Amoeba set, or a one-off figure of Dogora 😆

Godzilla Anniversary Set - 54, 55, 62, 64 (need something to go with the 64 Mothra). Maybe include some powerlines too.
Destroy All Monsters Volume 3 - Kumonga, Varan, Manda, and "Fire Monster"
Godzilla vs Megalon - 73, Jet Jaguar, Megalon, Gigan
Terror of Mechagodzilla - 75, MGII with alternate brain head, Titanosaurus, some buildings
I also wouldn't mind a King Kong Escapes or Frankenstein box set (includes the Frankenstein Monster, Gaira, Sanda, and Odako).
@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork pro-tip: 1/700 scale buildings are a good size for these figures and a popular model scale in Japan 🙂
Nice wish list! I don't know that I would buy an all Godzilla set, but the rest sound great! An Ebirah set would also give them a chance to reuse a Godzilla, give us a second chance at a Mothra (maybe without flocking), and give us an Ebirah. And I could see a KK vs. Godzilla set with the Giant Octopus before a Frankenstein set. The short of it is that Mezco should put us in charge of this series!
