  • A project update video of a 1/6th scale RC Armortek Early Production Tiger I tank model. The model is a commission build that is being built for a private collector. The model was procured from the customer in an unassembled virgin state and was started and worked on to the point you see in this video. In this video I describe the work that was done to the Road wheel assemblies

    what about a 1/6th scale tiger 1 hybrid if you don't know watch night shades videos on hybrid tiger 1 F13 and i really want a 1/6 scale late model tiger 1 from armor tec and build it as a captured tiger 1 that a group of allied solders captured and converted it to a allied tank and i'm going to mix some details on it like add some allied forces stuff on it like tools and paint and weapons and it will be RC, it will have the smoke kit, the recoil kit, and sound kit.

    For the motion kits, does it include everything that you need except the radio and do the kits have mounting points pre-made into the kit

      Yes the kits have all the mounting points and fasteners included for mounting the kit's designed motion packs, Yes The armortek motion gives you all the motors and electronics to get the model moving. The only thing not included is the radio, and the batteries. Extras like sound and smoke, recoil are also not included with the motion option, but are extra options

    This tank must cost a small fortune, there are so many pieces and they all seem to be metal machined on a lathe / CNC. It probably cost as much for one of these kits as the original cost of a Tiger tank??
    It looks so realistic and the engineering seems even better than the original tank. I would love one of these, but I doubt I have the skills to build it. Superb job on this model and I am looking forward to seeing it completed.

      Believe Armortek kits go for 8-12,000 usd, last I looked. Been a while though.

      Eric Brennan I would not be at all surprised at that price as so much work has gone into the kits and they look so good. If only I had the skills and the money I would love one of these Tanks. Many thanks.

    You do builds like this professionally? How is it for work, and how did you get into it? I'm nearing the end of college, and do quite a bit of model making, trying to figure out what to do with myself.

    you shouldn't grind aluminium on a bench grinder as it will build up with too much and heat and explode. (unless you have a special wheel for aluminium. )

      Normally yes, You want to avoid using a bench grinder with a standard wheel for aluminum, however for the type of light grinding I was doing it didn't cause any issues. A table top belt sander would also be a good use in place of the grinder

    Are these kits very hard to assemble? and if so do you recommend these?

    • @oddball759mm
      @oddball759mm  8 років тому

      I wouldn't say hard, but more or less overwhelming if you have never built one before, or have experience with models like this

      I was looking at the Sd Kfz on the armourtek website. What is your opinion on it?

      I have not built one so I can't really comment on it, but from the looks of the pics looks like the model is a good runner.
