Got me thinking of covering an entire diorama with clear resin
I have done a full table - it looks pretty awesome :D
super nice bases!!!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you, sir!
I have my first run at this drying, we'll see how it goes! :) I think I went a little shy of my targeted height based on seeing some of the sea color above the resin line, but I have some vallejo water effect coming, may try to top it off a bit with that.
Cheers! I found it hard to top up with coloured resin as colour match was difficult but I could add a small layer of clear to the top with little issue. It gets better with practice lol. Have fun!
Nice tutorial man, I was looking for something like this so I can do my Chaos Tyrant some justice with its base.
awesome!
awesome tutorial, thanks mate!!
cheers!
Really nice, thank you!
thanks!
Awesome tutorial, very helpful!
thanks!
keren banget
Awesome man! Thanks for the tutorial. I have one question, what's the big dinosaur-like skull you have in your big base? I loved it!
Hi mate it was a left over from a GW Seraphon model
What colour do you use for the resin? And great video. Thank you!
hey mate. great video! i'm just starting with water effects and this was a huge help. just wondering, i have seen some water effect products that are just one container. are they the same as the two part resin kits. just wondering which one to buy? thanks again :)
Hi mate - different products have different ways of activating (hardening). My advice experiment with a product on a small spare base or similar and get a feel for how your product works. I've tried a few UV activated water effects as well as 2-pack, some I liked some not so much. Personally I prefer 2-pack for area pours and use UV resin for small effects like blood drips etc
trying to do this myself with the plasticard sheets like you used in your video however, i cant seem to get them to not have small gaps on the inside by where the two ends over lap. also the plasticard which i have heated and bent still pops open when i put my tape on it to hold it together, any tips ? i have over 80 bases im looking to complete
Hey Jesse - if it is melting you may need a thicker plasticard. I got a very small line at the join but just learned to tape it tight. Just comes with practice. need to use good tape hence the Tamiya tape I used. On a side note since I made this video Greenstuff World have released base moulds that you can use to do this. It may be worth a look and getting if you have 80 to do?

Can you provide a written list of materials?
Description updated mate
How can you stop dust from getting in them?
Depending on the size of what you are making I have turned a cardboard box upside down over them.
@@peterdolan7201 thank you
Do I need to use putty on the bottom?
you will need something to seal the base. I have seen others use hot glue etc
What colors did you use for
base?
Base: Temple Guard Blue, shade: Drakenhof Nightshade, dry: Skink Blue + white grades
@@seraphim0162 some texture?
thank you----nice job...awesome.
The top bit was texture paint yeah sorry - Martian Ironcrust with Agrax shade and tyrant skull dry brush
- and a bit of citadel texture on the bottom bit - I used astrogranite under the blue
@@seraphim0162 thank you very much
