LMAO. The best intro to ANY bronco/overlanding video yet. Love the humor. Keep up the good work!
haha thanks! wasn't sure anyone else would appreciate that. You're the first to comment on it!
@@NorthShoreOverland My 8yr old daughter loves the skit you made "throwing" your son out of the Bronco for calling it a Jeep. She jokes about it all the time and yanks my chain calling my 2-door basemansqutch a Jeep. But she knows I like them both.
@@matteshem7381 haha nice! I forgot about that one. I was supposed to make a whole series of those. I'll get back to it, stand by. haha
All i could picture was buddy getting the shovel in the forehead lol he had a lot of faith in you lmao
Haha, give credit to the Toyo MT's ! the lugs are huge. I wasn't worried at all.
I always have faith in him haha
Always good to watch your videos so I know the limits of my Bronco without having to find out the hard way. Thanks
Glad to take one for the team! 😀
“OUUUUOT” Canadian accent gotta love it’s say “out” 😂
What abouuuuuot my Canadian accent?
I just came back, to say… still a fantastic video, even watching it a 3rd time!
Thank you so much! I appreciate that very much!
You definitely need to post more on UA-cam
Thanks! I'm trying haha. Got another great snow wheeling adventure from this weekend I'm working on now. Hopefully out this weekend.
Its all good man! Everybody i ever brought there broke something 😅 but then everyone gets to chill in our camp and bullshit, drink beer and eat. So all is good !
Thanks for coming dude, can’t wait for the next adventure!
Yes for sure! Next time maybe you break something for a change? 😂
@@NorthShoreOverland well not like i don’t try 🤣
Well I"ll give you that!
@@NorthShoreOverland we did all the hardest trail that we know about… maybe i should try harder lol
@@038Landry we will just have to do them again under less ideal conditions! Or maybe we just need to get in shape and work on my Private trail. I have ideas haha. Bring David and Luc Next time!
Time to call our friends at RCV my dude! My CVs are bound to grenade at any time with how much I’ve been beating on them with the 37s
Yea I'm really thinking of going that route. It's the only permanent option. And I feel like this time it's was just on its way out from the last year of hard wheeling and it just "grenaded" all over that hill haha
@@NorthShoreOverland exactly… it was the culmination of the total abuse, not the specific instance
Yea, because it really surprised me... I really wasn't beating on it... at that moment...
I mean this with the utmost respect as I know they are a sponsor. But RC’s lift is the main culprit here. They did not engineer it properly. Knowing three other broncos on same lift, they have all pulled 2x cv’s minimum. one poor soul has lost 3. All with mild wheeling. This is far above the average for a lifted Bronco. For example I have original CV’s on mine at 40k miles. No breaks. And I do rock trails, Rubicon, Moab, etc I also have a large Bronco group that wheels a lot. Only two members to loose CV’s were a stock SAS that was locked up front, bound up and gassing on the con, and the other was the RC guy barely in an easy trail. RCV’s won’t fix the issue as they are shaft strength, not angle. My buddy has the wrong angle too and just pulled an RCV on 35’s doing mild NV trails. He also promptly snapped his inner shaft as his RCV is now stronger then the inner. Inner shaft replacement sucks…
Thanks, I appreciate it. As an ambassador for them I give them feedback and we discuss possible issues. And part of my agreement is to always be able to say what I really think. Having said that, I think the issue is actually with any lift that goes above 4 to 5 inches. The OEM shafts are not long enough(for a lift). If you look on Bronco6g, almost everyone that Broke shafts had high lifts. Of all brands. I'll be taking the CV's apart this week to see if there's any wear paterns that would prove my theory.
@@NorthShoreOverland Good stuff! And yes I agree. To high for too short.
@popo_patty hmm, didn't realize you had a channel. Just subbed! will check out some of your vids.
@@NorthShoreOverland lol. I’m not as good on the UA-cam’s yet like you. Thanks though!
That's why you don't go out alone.
That's exactly why you don't go out alone! I'd still be there!
Hi Lift, jacks are deadly. Badlands off-road Jack for the win.
Yea for sure, you need to be careful! I plan on making a diy type badland jack with a skid plate for on the snow.
I am not sure if you are unlucky or I am unlucky. Do not blame the shafts.
Two weeks earlier, I flew off the side of a cliff to avoid a Jeep. Nearly rolled Bronco on the passenger side. When I hit the ground, the passenger front tire rolled off rim. Everyone I was wheeling with was in awe that Bronco didn't roll. We used a high lift jack just like you were in video to inflate tire and seeded back onto rim. Was able to continue the day with no other issues. There is no shaft damage at all. Bronco hit the ground a lot harder than you did in the video. My assumption is that you had previously damaged and weakened the shaft. Also, I offroad using Ford designed and tested OEM set up.
Good video and good luck.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Yes, some days I think a stock Sasquatch would be great. But I enjoy tinkering too much to leave anything stock haha. I agree, I feel like it was a wear over time issue and it just decided to let go at that moment.
Might have to buy some 74weld portals to save your axles from constantly breaking 😊
Isn't that the dream! Think RCV axles might be more within my reach haha.
whats the strategy on puttin on chains on these bigger tires, does it help? Why don't you do it?
That grey wranlger is cool 😎 no spare tire haha
He keeps his spare in the back of the Jeep haha
Great video, you should get a JL392 haha
Thanks! and No Thanks haha
Where would this trail be approximately looks like a fun trail to try
It's near Packetville area. I'm not sure exactly how to get there as I went with Sam that is local to the area. It is a fun trail!
100% the wife’s fault, make her pay for upgraded axles. With this being the second time of this bronco being pulled out by a jeep I’m not sure how much more of this I can take 😂
hahaha. She jinxed me!
The new Ford Bronco is a very popular vehicle. Hopefully Ford is paying attention to what the core customers are really doing with these and make the proper factory upgrades in the future.
Honestly I'm ok with the factory components. I understand that most people won't be running it as hard as I do. It's just like Jeep, nobody that seriously offroads runs them stock.
Do you keep the sta-bar disconnected while snow wheeling? Oh, and I would say “It’s fine” but not sure it is right now 😢
I do... and it is fine! New shaft is in. I'm testing for binding and doing some research. But for now I won't use my stab bar disconnect anymore.
When they gonna learn nothing beats a solid front axle??
You should get some beadlock wheels
Thinking about it... But want to take care of the CV shafts firts.
What a series of unfortunate events for ya's. Hey, could have been worse, you know, like a taillight 🤣
At least you can drive without a tailight....
@NorthShoreOverland Hey, still got the ol' reliable 2 wheel drive 😅
Steel will shatter if it gets cold enough. It looks like your running a 37" wheel/tire combo. The extra diameter/weight was possibly too much for the stock axels/CV joints. You know the Badlands with Sasquatch package axels were engineered for 35" wheel/tire combos. Ford is engineering every part on your Bronco to keep the weight to a minimum to get better MPG. If enough axles break out there Ford might even upgrade the axels on future builds like they are doing on 2024 Badlands steering rack & tie rod ends.
Oh for sure. The lift and tires didn't help. Looking at RCV axles now.
What suspension are you on? It looks like those tires are slightly larger than 35"...
Yea, it's a lifted Badlands. 5 inch lift with a diff drop. 37X12.5R17 Toyo MTs. I know that's why. it's just that at the time I was being very carefull... and don't feel like it should of broke then. part of me thinks it was already banged up and that hill just finished it off.
@@NorthShoreOverland … don’t take this the wrong way… and I really appreciate that, unlike most, you are actually taking your rig out and doing the rough stuff… going beyond 35” tires without making a more extensive overhaul of several components is bound to stress some OEM parts beyond their operating limits. IMHO, there’s no free lunch when you start modifying an IFS rig.
Oh absolutely! You got to pay to play. I just wish I could of played a bit longer... That's why I'm looking at @RCVUltimateAxles .
Ford under building 4wd since the 19th century , ugh im feel bad for people who spent all their hard earned money on poorly built broncos
Any off road vehicle ends up with aftermarket upgraded components.
Don’t feel bad for us, we are loving our Broncos.
Where is this? NB?
Yes, was in Packetville area.
@@NorthShoreOverland nice! I'm near Bathurst :)
Cool video!
Next time ur wife gets mad at you for you trying to have fun, just tell her she's more expensive then the parts u break,
Hahahahhaha
Based comment.
Weak-ass IFS vehicle. No surprise it broke. Seriously. Running 4 PSI on non-beadlock wheels and losing the bead wasn't a surprise either. SMH. 10 PSI in the snow is as low as I go in my Wrangler Rubicon. Never been a problem.
The bead only broke cause I was being dragged out. The Orange jeep in the video has RCV shafts and the grey one has some on order. I'll be next. I usually run 5 psi no problem. 10 psi in that snow would be a struggle.
YOU failed your Bronco. Broncos don't like big heavy tires.
Just because it hurts my Bronco, it doesn't mean it doesn't like it..... 😕
Time to get a Chevy😂
Why would I want to make it worse? 😂
Oh yeah, get a new Blazer…they’re sooo good in 4 ft of snow 😂
😂@@fullspeedfordbronco
I would honestly stay away from a Bronco unless the mall is a calling. Which it isn't.
Oh come one now.
@@NorthShoreOverland Honestly, I do believe that.
I don’t . I run stock a 22’ Badlnds Sas with a 3” Icon leveling lift. I’ve challenged my vehicle all along and have never been let down. The more I put in front of it the more impressed I am.@@joemcgee2918
Are they capable? yes they are. Are they worth the money? I’m not sure. I have one and love it. Still looking to buy another Jeep, so the Bronco has someone to play with. The issue is they are only four years old. So a lot of aftermarket prefab and testing is still going on. Jeeps are much easier to find parts for and do research on. Bronco will get there. It’s a great little vehicle.
Jeep > Bronco
I have a 2023 Ford Bronco and would never try and compete with or follow a jeep or a FJ cruiser off road
Really? Well both those jeeps have 20 to 30k in mods.... so. A bone stock Badlands will Follow a bone stock Rubicon anywhere. FJ Cruiser? Man, I had a Tacoma for 10 years, loved it. Same frame as FJ.... No way an FJ could keep up with a Badlands Bronco. Sorry.
You obviously haven’t taken yours off road. I’ve had jeeps. This Bronco I have is just as capable and a heck of a lot more comfortable. As a big guy, not having to hang my arm out the window to get comfortable is only one benefit. 😂. Wouldn’t know what a FJ will do. Every time I ask those guys to go off roading, they have an excuse. Just fancy daily drivers. 😂
Sell it and buy a Toyota.
Jeeps are junk
oh come on now. They all have their strengths and weaknesses.
