Great video Jax! Your insight on fuel prices etc is awesome. We are headed for a recession.(hope not). As far as the Grand Canyon I was there with my boys a few years back. It’s an awesome place but so many people we couldn’t get close to it. We rolled through it in about 3 hrs and headed north. Didn’t have the time or patience to explore it. I get your dilemma. Keep on trucking! Love the new truck!

Love the Channel Jax!!! Great business advice with the fuel info. I had a 2014 389 black cherry pearl. Beautful truck!! I was an owner operator with AIR Freight. My friend had a 2014 Freightliner. Almost 3 mpg difference. I looked good burning money. I figured it out. Love the music of the Sightliners!!!

Thank you jax! I started trucking 16 years ago at 21 and just a year ago I decided to be an owner op. My first thought was I need a 359 or 379. Then I saw your videos. A cow hauler with aero trucks?what!?? Then I realized why and felt comfortable because of you to buy my cascadia and have fell in love with it. Again thank you my man!

So true Jax, we seen so, so so many miles of country, but when you sit back and think about all the miles you see, all you got to see was what was visable from the 60 mile a hour window. there was so much people talk about that I never got to see because i had to just drive my life away right past it all. there was one trip I made. I flew out to vancouver to get a truck and load to go to edmonton. working out the details with Canadian Freightways/Transforce, I was able to fly my partener out with me, and I had 5 days to travel from vancouver to edmonton, and the freedom to say take a baby vacation, some places I hadda drop the trailer to get to some attractions, others I think we shocked all the vacationers how we got there with the unit all together. But hey it was a super fun, well worth the bang for the buck trip we got to take. chuckles, even though my partener is the worlds worst traveler. she wants to go every where, but after the first day she does not wanna do it any longer. so I gotta use my head strong stubornness and just put up with her and make her make the best of our situations.

My bro kept a bag full of zip ties in his tool cubby after something dangled down and clipped his brake line. He had a pretty hair on fire screaming downhill into Montana, in his cab over, with an HPatrol running ahead of him like a bat outa hell-lights and sirens on full. When they hit bottom and finally came to a stop, they both got out and sat by the road a while together and gave thanks to the Lord for pulling them through. Keep safe, you are a rare one indeed.

Once had a young porcupine in my basement. Since there was about a foot of water from my husband over watered the field behind our home, I had my teenaged son go into the basement to turn on the sump pump. As he walked down the steps and he got whapped by the quill filled tale. The mobile pincushion jumped into the small pond that was my basement, and swam into the back. Luckily my son was wearing long jeans. In the meantime, my husband and I managed to capture this scared, wet and pissed off porcupine into a trap. I should mention we had to tear apart our furnace to find it! What a wildlife rodeo that was. Ended up driving about 50 miles to release on a pine covered mountain. We all still laugh about it now.
Hope you saved those quills as they make beautiful adornments on leather, such as bags and such, when you culled the ones over running your ranch.
And I hope your truck is fixed next time. It's the little minor glitches that are so annoying, isn't it, Jax? Be safe.

@Wild Wild West No Jax. It was Cedar Mountain in the Eastern desert of Utah in the middle, between Green River (I-70) and Price (State Highway 6).
The Outlaw Trail runs through that area. Once we had a bunch of baby skunks along with their mama that decided to make our crawl space home. I've had my share of wildlife when used to live in Utah...lol.

I’ve mentioned it before, as well as on my channel, but I just sold my 05 379 with the Acert. It was a dream truck of mine, but my ultimate dream is providing the best I can fit my family and growing the company. So o feel privileged to be able to say I’ve owned my dream truck, but decided getting 8 mpg over a 3k mile week is a STUPID amount of money compared to the 5-5.5 I was getting in the 379. Talking SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS per month. That’d more than a lot of W-2 employees make..period. Lol. And I’m wasting it in fuel. I just couldn’t justify it anymore.

Since you brought up the subject of fuel ⛽️ mileage, I've been told by several friends that are long time truckers, that the Detroit engines get the best mileage while still giving higher power levels.
What's your experience with this one way or another, and is any of your rigs running Detroit engines?
The reason I ask is some say that Detroit can't compete with the cats as far as performance and longevity.
I've been in both setups, and I honestly can't from the passenger seat tell much difference, with the exception of the exhaust.
Cats have a deeper tone coming from the stacks, but Detroit seems to rev higher, and sounds pissed off when going through the gears coming up to highway speeds.
Now had it probably been the same driver with similar loads, and the terrain been more consistent with each trip I've been on..
That and I believe that the transmission were all different as they varied between 13 speeds and up to one 18 speed.
Which changes things in my mind as to the shift points, as well as the tone of the exhaust.
No one I'm aware of has a Cummins, unless it's in their trucks

My thought, with those tires wearing funny like that on the trailer, could possibly be worn out bushings on the trailer. They are definitely the most un-thought of an most neglected piece/parts on equipment. Might want to have’m replaced in the future.

Forty years working on semi truck’s never saw anything so sketchy. That’s so dangerous and no trailer brakes, that tow company needs reported. If that comes loose it could kill an entire family in a car.

Would it be weird to ask for a list of the toilets you’ve delivered?
I think it would be a good excuse for a summer road trip to visit a few.

I put trailer's in the door to be loaded at my work. There had been a company called JR transportation company There for weeks. He had a neat old cab over. He told me his grandfather brought new in 92 and he spent a year getting it road ready again. Just because it meant something to him. Last week he had a car pull out in front of him and to keep front running over the car he took the ditch and hit a soft spot and totaled it. Tore it to pieces. Come to find out the car that caused the accident had been doing this for insurance claims.
