Isaac was on the warpath on this one, he came up short against each Sodre brothers and suffered a huge loss to Nagai in the past 1-2 years in competition. And he beat them all and to crown his first world championship... absolutely insane
Jiu Jitsu is an awesome sport. So much sportsmanship at the high levels and in pretty much every jiu jitsu gym I’ve been too it’s filled with people looking to learn not waste time talking politics and all the other BS clouding everyone’s thoughts. Jiu Jitsu will always have a special place in my heart that’s for sure!
I love when dudes are humble. Show respect to their counterparts after they oblirate them, good sportsmanship. Some Ip Man shit right threre; "thank you for allowing me to defeat you" lmao It's even worse than gloating hahaha
#12 blew me away. What’s the deal with them both sitting down? What’s the rule there? Seems like bro had definitely played that scenario out once or twice.
In BJJ if your opponent takes you down into your guard and maintains control then they get points. Competitors are allowed to avoid this scenario by "pulling guard" and sitting down as soon as they engage in the initial hand fight. Francisco made an incredibly fast evaluation that during the inital grips - right when they both were finally allowed to make the "safe" choice and pull guard - that he had managed to gain control of both of his opponents hands. By standing up quickly and yanking his arms, Lo created enough space to find the submission. Beautiful grappling!
When Kade hips down on mica you hear the knee pop ( I’m pretty sure) also I’m pretty sure on the pato zlock you hear the break ( it was a confirmed break he was out a entire year)
I'm sorry -what is coyote guard? Never heard of it and I've been training for several years. Could someone plz explain? Maybe I know it by a different name.
It’s a version of underhook half guard popularized by World champion Lucas leite in gi (tbh it’s very traditional like the og gordinho style from the late 90s) …. I’ll explain in full -get the underhook, get on your side/ hip ( multiple ways of achieving this ) then by straightening the opponents leg with your outside leg - swing the outside leg to the inside and physically pull your opponent’s leg straight you can wrestle up or dip under for a heep of attacks - the whole leg deal is the coyote part ( 10th planet guys might use a lockdown ‘whip’ or w/e to straighten the leg for ‘old school’ but there’s quite some offensive advantages to the more classical ‘coyote’ style. Lock down your is a more defensive then coyote style. Since traditional style allows you to base off the ground with the outside leg making getting active easier, wrestle ups faster switch to deep half etc
No one seems to even talk about it but I absolutely hated the lighting at ADCC. I feel like it is way better when there is light across the venue like a regular tournament...
The z-lock at 8:12 is not anywhere near better than what came before. Sometimes subtlety isn’t that impressive or even good. It took me four watches to figure out what happened. 3 more to wonder they tapped. That should not even be on here.
Wtf flo, my arm bar at the blue belt local tournament didn't make the cut? 🤣
Yeah we messed up there, that is on us!
Underrated comment! Lol
I’m sure it was beautiful
The ankle lock on m'y little sister didn't make it too
@@thefang_18 okay this was recycled 😂 nice try bud
The crowd at ADCC was sensational, what an event
The audio being blown out at 6:49 made it so unintentionally hilarious
5:31 that awkward half second when they both pull guard
5:32 “ohhh shittt”😂😂😂 my same reaction
The cartwheel to stand up at 7:01 may have actually been more impressive than the sub
Glad I wasn’t the only one that saw this. Just goes to show the body weight mastery of these pros

All spectacular. My 2 personal fav were the arm bar from Nagai and the absolute best, in my opinion, was Micah's coyote armbar at #4.
Gordon's Heel hook vs Nicky Rod should be here, a final of ADCC and extremely quick should fr be here
That kotd was so good
#12) was so IMMACULATE! The way they dropped simultaneously, yet the one with the MUCH SMALLER legs reacted so fast to get the neck!!!
Kade's armbars over Lachlan and PJ deserve to be here
That flo triangle made me gasp. Slick move
Mica Galvao's armbar at 9:10 is out of this world
3:53 allways an good feeling when your shoulder pops back in after nasty armbar. damm, that is going to be sore in the morning...
Frfr
I almost cried for rida. Love him.
7:08 the commentary here is excellent.
That buggy choke was insane!
3:42 he does not want to be here... HE DOES NOT WANT TO BE HERE 😂😂😂
3:09 can't tell if this is coaching or heckling lol 😆
I guess 2022 was the year of the grapplers soo many epic submissions at the highest levels. 🎉🎉
FROM POLARIS to ADCC, Man, Haisam Rida goated.
