HOLY GOODNESS THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING! Followed by Houses of the Holy! I just cannot stand how wonderful it is to watch these videos Andy puts out, the song choice is great and covers a fantastic range of wonderful music, the playing is great, the instruction is practical ... wow.
Andy man you make every pedal freaking rip! Most intros to a pedal poke at them with a stick. You indulge in the pedals strengths and play the pedal accordingly. Wicked as always. Cheers.
For me, the Afterneath and Palisade from EQD makes for an amazing Slowdive-style distortion/reverb swell with a humbucker. When split coil (or just picked softer), it makes for a great ambience with both on or just the reverb on. That's my choice pedal anyways
Oceans 11 is a mixture of classic reverbs and ambient reverbs. All of this in a compact form. Really love that pedal, it's fantastic for boosting your creativity
That Orion Pedal Looks as good as it Sounds. Thats the Real-Deal right there. But Andy has the "Lexicon Reverbs" on his Board. ( in pedal format ) Arguably, the Greatest Reverb Algorithm's ever created.
The oceans eleven is my set it and forget it pedal for reverb. The spring setting reminds me of the 63 reverb unit from fender. But my go to setting is the plate reverb since it's right amount echo and reverb. This pedal is such a jack of all trades in my rig.
My '61 6G15 is a one trick pony and although it adds some beautiful tubey harmonic fuckedupedness to the signal that pedals never seem to capture, pedals like the ocean's eleven have so much more sonic territory to explore.....they seem to provide a great deal more flexibility, for me.
Michael Loomis III I found the oceans 11 pretty cool but eventually it wasn’t for me . I felt it was a bit harsh in the treble range, this was more so when using plate and spring settings . I however loved the settings and secret modes . I may pick another up used but wouldn’t pay the new price again
During the heyday of proguitarshop, my mother eventually got me the TC electronic Trinity reverb for Christmas during its second initial sale, (I was in high school at the time). I have owned it ever since, and I tend to use the ethereal one setting in light reverb applications where I use a decently long decay for about a second, turn the tone knob where I want it, and I turn down the mix so it’s not overpowering my signal. I sometimes use the plate setting, and occasionally the ethereal to for the helicopter sounds. Mostly it’s the legend of the ethereal one, and the typical setting that I use.
I've been looking at so many reviews so many different reverbs to replace my dispatch master (which is decent but... The delay leaves some to be desired). I've looked at a lot of multi effect reverbs and although some sound good, none blew me away with what I wanted: Simple yet effective classic tones, with phenomenal quality sound and build. I came across the keeley omni, it's plate is incredible its spring is very good and it's room function is also really solid. I think for it's price it's the ticket for me... Might also be for some others too. Cheers
TC Electronic HOF2 is crazy powerful by moving the programming offline via a USB cable and a computer. It basically falls in the does-it-all category, but without the sends and the screen.
For Shimmer - I have yet to find a pedal that sounds as good as the Mr. Black Eterna. It just works in a way that I want it to soundwise and mixes well with the other pedals on the board. It's an overpowering type of sound but in a wonderful way with the Eterna.
Main board reverb: Chase Bliss Dark World. Walks the line between "mega do it all" and "freaky ambient" and "multi-mode." Per Midi preset patch I have some of everything. Medium board reverb: Walrus Slö. It's big and ambient when set "normally," but you can easily dial things back to make it a subtle, always-on plate sound with a little modulation to taste (I use the Dark mode but remove the suboctave). Nano Plus board: EQD Avalanche Run. I love the Dispatch Master and have used it for years, so this seems like the next step. (It arrives in the mail tomorrow!) Nano board reverb: crap, I don't have reverb on my nano board. Just delay, and hope that I'm playing into an amp with a spring tank. (Or playing in a big echoey hall anyway... after all, the space you're in is literally its own reverb!). I guess if I'm being nitpicky there is a reverb setting on my Grand Canyon delay/looper, but I usually prefer to use a delay mode instead.
Reverb’s in live band situations require totally different setups and settings. They are fun when your in you basement but you can be lost in the mix in live situations. Sometimes the room you are gigging in requires that there is no reverb. A lot of players just do not get this. Any Lexicon algorithm does it or me. In pedal or rack. Strymon is pretty close. Really like the newer SLO pedal. It works as a lush chorus or nice basic but full reverb with great tails. Took all my other verbs off the board.
I produce music sometimes and play guitar the rest of the time, and this is 100% correct. When I’m playing alone, I’ll have the reverb set to 50%. When mixing a band, 15% is SERIOUSLY pushing it.
@@yeahrightbear8883 Dont buy it if your looking for a spot on spring emulation other than that its great. The 80s reverb does a pad/shimmer thing thats amazing and the every trem type and setting is useful. The reverb has some stereo to it but the trem is basically mono not stereo spread. I checked out a demo of the polymoon and think the Flint can do some of those sounds but many many more usable ones too.
saw the MXR reverb could sound great at live. There are a few artist that used it live. Saw their rig rundown. But in a style that could encompasses all, I see that the Ocean's 11 could be your answer for the majority of styles. Just and opinion.
@@thorbunde8981 I liked it but it was too complex with lots of hidden parameters. I sold mine and bought the Fender Tre-Verb. A box with Fender tremolo and reverb. MXR's M300 Reverb looks the best on the market at the minute but the price may put off a lot of people. The Oceans 11 is great if you just want lots of options but I found I just went between the Spring and Plate setting.
@@rob28781 That makes sense. I'm at the moment standing between buying the Boss RV-6, MXR M300 Reverb(which is a bit expensive), Oceans 11 and the Hall of Fame 2. What do you think about that?
@@thorbunde8981 Value for money you’ve got to say the TC Hall of Fame 2, but for £20 more I’d probably go for the Boss RV-6. When have you ever heard of a bad Boss pedal? Oceans 11 and the RV-6 are the same price so it’s a flip of a coin, but the Oceans 11 has a tonne of options using the mode button. Reverb has always been my favourite effect so personally I’d be more inclined to stretch to the MXR M300 as the MXR pedals I have are absolutely amazing. I can see myself buying both Reverb and Tremolo pedals at some point. I can vouch for this. I've tried out both of them and the Ventris is way better, in my opinion. However, the Boss is better for the "main reverb types" (plate, room, and hall) if you're willing to do a lot of tweaking. The Ventris is overall better though...high tweakability with the app and small footprint.
