How fun! and funny. A great video/trip. we also found many parks closed and gated. Moyie lake was only one open (8 sites only). Beautiful fall colours across the province. Glad we got home before snow fall. Quails Gate is one of our favourite wines, looking fwd to visiting the winery, thanks for the recce! See you on the road.
What a gorgeous breathtaking scenery with lakes and mountains and the colours of fall . Driving along the lakes and seeing this was like a nature at its best . Thank you for sharing this with me. BS & BK
Crisp and clear photography showcasing the beautiful scenery in this region, I was impressed with Quails Gate Winery and wild horses would have had to drag me away.😂🍷. Looks like you had a great time .👍😁🚐
Glad you enjoyed! There are several great wineries all with an hours drive....you will have to add this region to your list when you visit! And yes, it was a great getaway! 🚐
We teardrop because it keeps older folks camping. (as opposed to RV-ing) The downside of that is we must stop a bit earlier than those of you that can take shelter inside your rig. The upside is living on Vancouver Island we can start a bit earlier than most. So thanks for taking us along with you on your Fall Tour. If we are able to travel in Northwest Territories this coming year we will be gone for the spring/summer. Its large money to ferry on and off the Island so once you do might as well make a road trip out of it.
Cant imagine a greater area to spend the summer…we will likely be there for part of it as well! On Vancouver Island you also have a number of campgrounds that stay open all year (albeit on a smaller scale) which is nice if weather relatively mild. We still hope to do the Marine circle route perhaps late fall. We are winterized now, but that is largely fine, especially for shorter trips. Ps…love teardrops!
@@hikenrv Yes, most of the old Forest Service sites which are now under the care of Sites and Trails BC remain open. Some of the very popular ones that are managed for Sites and Trails by logging companies and such are gated (liability/insurance reasons mostly) but the smaller, hidden gems remain available. Trouble is from now til spring you can find yourself behind a washed out road or in three feet of snow with zero plowing period. You really need to know where to go in winter up here.
We were fortunate; weather generally favorable! The sky that morning was wonderful to sit on the the beach and watch....and what’s nice is at this time of year sunrise is not that early! Glad you enjoyed!
Was lovely to see Keremeos and Hedley. I lived in Keremeos from 2017 til this past summer and then moved back home to the Island. I enjoyed my short time there. Loved all the fruit stands.
I sure wish you would make a video - during the off-season, perhaps? - on the whole process of how you select your parks, how you choose a site (when you have choices), how you make your reservations, how you decide when not to rely on a reservation, what are the typical costs, what are options to BC Provincial Parks that you use and how you ID them, what weather resources you use to determine expected weather, how much you rely on foods taken with you vs. provisioning 'on the road', and how you access internet while traveling.
Interesting idea...and something we will look at. Likely we would do over a couple of videos. Miki tends to do the planning, I (Gordon) a little more ‘let’s just see where we end up’. One thing we do find challenging...when we show up at a first come first serve site and find too many choices! Rare however! Hope all is well 🚐
We were going to rent a RV this fall and go to the Okanagan but all the campgrounds were closed that we wanted to stay in. Are you going south this winter? Great video. Nancy
Yes, many campgrounds close in late September which is too bad...suspect there is enough demand now for several to stay open longer but weather can become an issue some years. Several remain open all year on Vancouver Island however. We are considering heading down south, but likely later...expect there may be somewhat of a rush in November!
Back in the 70's we stayed at Haynes Point in October and it was full. We noticed this year that the private campgrounds in Penticton were packed in mid-October. It is a mystery to us why Haynes Point closes so early. Nancy

We could all do a wine tour! 🚐🚐 Your trip sounded wonderful as well!
Great fall colors 😎 looks like a fun trip 👍
It was fun...and since it has pretty much been solid rain! Thanks for watching!
Looks like the Okanagan region was at peak colours! Psst ... good video ... again! Cheers, Steve
We enjoyed all the colours...and glad you enjoyed as well!

What a great getaway. I really enjoyed the nighttime scenes and red skies near the end. Plus the fall colors.

So fun to see your trip, fall colors, and loved the hike you did. Perfect fall hike! Thank you for sharing!
It was a wonderful short getaway! Glad you enjoyed!

Such a nice area...we love to stop there; some wonderful vineyards, nice small town and as you noted, some great fruit stands!

Looks like a fantastic trip to experience fall! Enjoy.
It was! Colours this year seemed more vibrant, perhaps as the summer was so (too!) warm. Thanks for watching!
They are burning 🔥 slash piles. I was down to Kelowna myself this last few weekends 😍.
🙏🖖🍺
Thanks, someone else mentioned same....makes sense! Safe travels!
Looks like a great little trip. I'm retired and my wife's retiring in June so hopefully we'll be able to do a fall color trip next year.
Perfect...you will enjoy; if weather holds it is the nicest season to tour and not too busy!
A lot of the smoke is coming from slash burns from logging.
You might be right, it did seem much worse to the south, but as you note that could be the source.
