I think the Viking song could benefit from being slower (maybe half bpm). of course its your song in the end but something to consider (alongside dynamics).
Was thinking the same when he showed the segment where big blows were being landed. A cheer or shock chant from the audience would add a ton to the ambience.
imagine the crowd cheering to the music as you land blows in beat of the music. Then when you're being beaten up, the crowd's rhythm breaks away and starts booing
In the 'Making An Action Song' chapter of the video, when you are starting out with the slap base, you start with like half notes, then quarter notes, and then end up on eighth notes... I think it would be a good idea to try experimenting with a similar melody, using the quarter notes from before, that then quickens to the eighth notes when the boxing match starts heating up. You can transition between these melodies based on the amount of punches being thrown or health of the characters or some similar idea. It might be worth a shot!
Kinda like BotW's combat music, it starts normally, then heats up and more instruments are thrown in when the battle gets harder, and ends with a triumphant harmony.
This man is the by far one of the most dedicated UA-camrs in the game industry today! He has stuck with his project since day one and has committed to it even while changing jobs and moving. Ponty has made this game truly a part of the UA-cam community and deserves every bit of attention. Congrats on the progress!
15:00 I love the victory song. But I don't feel like it's worthy of being the final victory. I think it has the same level of celebration that you get after winning a Pokémon match. Generally I feel it makes a good after-matchup song. I think a good set up for this piece can go like this: 1. Match Completed 2. Short Fanfare or "loss-fare" (if you lose) & character pose/highlight 3. "Victory" song + Results menu/page/popup (if there is one)
I love how your melodies connect with eachother. It doesn't feel like "A part and then B part" it feels like an ongoing connected piece elaborating on a musical idea
@@Pontypants Idea for music: The main battle theme could be changed in slight variations for different fighters Toby - no change just regular Doug - Adding chain or metal sounds Monk - adds… humming?? I have no clue honestly. Cookie - no change just regular Viking - Adds Viking styled drums (Medium diffculty bosses 1-4) - Haven’t been shown Sumo - Stomping or pounding sounds Wrestler - make it more intense? No clue Astronaut - Scientfic or spacey? Music Huricann - eagle noises. Puppet - Make it sound slightly creepier, maybe a musicbox? (Other two hard bosses) - not shown yet
A game like this NEEDS some sort of iconic and unique boss themes, I would love to see a custom one for the marionette. Keep up the great work. Wishlist gang rise up!
If you do not have the time to finish a complete song for each character, definitely still try to squeeze a sort of slow creepy theme into the puppet enemy. I think that would fit really well.
You got it man. I'm a jazz pianist and I've been learning how to produce music and I tend to overcomplicate everything. Turns out, repetative and simple is actually a really good way to make your songs memorable, catchy, and just.. more succesfull. I'm actually working on making my songs more simple, so keep up the simple stuff! Your doing great!
as a producer myself in very impressed with how fast you picked this up, i really like the tunes you made in this video and if i heard them without context i wouldnt think it was a newbie who made them!
I think the music sounds amazing! But to maybe make some of the fights a bit more dramatic, it would be cool if the signature moves had their own little song or maybe a loud sound effect. For example in the Viking fight, maybe when he did his signature attack, a Viking horn would sound or something. Love these dev logs ponty! Keep it up!
I don’t know if this is what your already planning to do but you should definitely make a track for each boss so it’s not repetitive and so it adds variety to each boss.
YESS I AGREEEE maybe the ouppet boss can have some more horror music and maybe the uhh in the mountain boss guy can had music like panflute and more traidional like? Idk whatbim saying 😂
Oh, holy crap, I LOVE the one with the PANFLUTE! That is phenomenal and it rocks out perfectly with your game! So, I think you are writing wonderful music for your game, and I think you have a natural musical gift. You don't need anyone's help, just keep doing what you're doing, you're doing great.
I recommend not to add too much element to your song. It's easy to get lost adding stuff and make it too messy. It happens to me all the time. Also, is really good to have a main idea as the theme of the game and have something from that theme in every song. It give the soundtrack more coherence. Then you can play with how you change the theme and with witch sounds you choose to fit the vibe of a particular battle or ambient.
i agree a bit too much going on, better melodies > more layers. also felt that none of the songs really gave a boxing vibe. also the pan flute was a big no for me
I don’t really think every track needs to share a thematic element. They could be coherent in other ways. With games like shovel knight it’s the homogenous 8bit texture
As a game music producer myself i think you did a pretty good job! It was especially cool to see how with every new track you became noticably better. I also believe that the piano lessons definitely have helped, even if just subconsciously.
As someone who's been casually making music for a few years, this video really inspires me and reminds me of what can be done with just a computer and a MIDI keyboard. Your music is great so far, good luck with the rest of the game!
Lots of ideas: An intro animation that introduces each fighter coming from either end of the arena with fire and smoke and a little musical cue, more emphasis on the rubbery and bouncy animation, and punchout inspiration
Might not be worth looking into but a different font might make the game look cool, something a little rounder and bubbly like everything else if you could find one. Besides that I can’t wait for this to be out!
9:42 admit it, you just to drew a bunch of ( ' ---- ' ) smiley from desperation and then was hit with "wait a minute, this actually sounds great!" and Gratz on publishing your game!
Fellow amateur pianist and DAW-tinkerer here - your progression from first attempt is pretty inspiring. Some of this would be at home in an original Crash Bandicoot or Spyro game. Absolutely love it :D
I think different songs for different opponents is just a fantastic idea. The song about the Vikings is on point. I can't wait to see the music for the other antagonists. I know it's very difficult to make a song for each character in their own style, but it's worth the trouble, trust me!
It’s crazy how you started and learned music so fast. I love all the songs. The main theme is understandly a tribute, but I think the vibe is a little “too happy” for a boxing, albeit a cartoony one. That’s my one critique.
A little thing, I always like it when a game uses one main Motiv also called a Leitmotiv, where the composer uses a base template and plays a new instrument and melody over it. Also remember a lot of games use the main theme to represent the player so a triumphent version for winning a league could fit that plays after the winning melody.
Mixing was supricingly good for first songs... Like i was thinking like there is no way this guy is gonna put first his songs into the game... Its gonna sound all muddy but it didnt :D this is truely a great start... You improved way faster than most starting producers.
as a musician of 10 years, this is really great to see you're already in great habits playing wise and most importantly you're inspiration is very clearly catchy video game music which develops a better ear for pitch and progressions from early on. you've got the foundation down brilliantly. plus your arrangement is exactly as it should be. nothing become to dull or uninteresting. keep up the good work. its a great skill to have in game dev
I'm digging the melodies you're putting together a lot! I think looking back to the N64 era for inspiration is a really good creative choice here, and you've done some amazing work so far for sure! I gotta admit though, I find some of these instrumentals and sound fonts.... _interesting._ I love me some Marimbas and Pan Flutes _in general,_ since they just hit that part of my brain that instantly brings up tunes from stuff like Banjo-Kazooie and Diddy Kong Racing. Some of your more chill songs remind me of other great music from mid or late '90s games like Croc and LittleBigAdventure. Everything you showed us sounds really great on their own! I'm just not sure instruments like marimbas and flutes work super well for action songs in your game (unless you've got a tropical/island/jungle-themed boxing ring level. I can't remember if you're doing one of those or were just messing around with _maybe_ doing one in a previous video). Luckily, since this is all digital, you can just play around with swapping out instruments and get something else without changing the actual melodies. You pointed out some games like Bomberman 64 and Super Mario 64 in your video, but did you look at any of the N64's fighting games? It's not known for its fighters, sure, but you could probably still pull some inspiration from titles like Custom Robo or SD Hiryu no Ken Densetsu. Custom Robo: ua-cam.com/video/nNg3tKH7vl4/v-deo.html SD Hiryuu no Ken Densetsu: ua-cam.com/video/nTrP5c8qqFM/v-deo.html See what I mean about the sound fonts? Not so heavy on the tropical instrument. I think the kinds of instruments in the Custom Robo music would fit your Action Song really nicely, too - it's still boppy and bouncy and fits the tempo well. At any rate, keep up the great work! This really is such a fascinating, informative and entertaining series to follow! We're all pulling for you and Punch-A-Bunch!
suggestion: make a trophy menu. every championship you win you gain a trophy in the menu, you could also implement challenges depending on each championship that could get their own trophy or achievement in the game's menu
Sounds great! Doing every aspect of the game by yourself is a hard road, but it can feel very rewarding too! There's nothing better than the feeling of surprising yourself with what you can achieve.
Would be great to see a dev log breaking down how you're approaching the game launch. Marketing/promos, pricing the final product, how you decided to set up your steam page, review keys, etc. There is a lot of the process that devs don't show, but since you've been so thorough with your dev logs - this is one area I would love to hear/see more about :) You're almost here Ponty!!!
Love how nintendo-feeling all of the soundtracks are. That sort of whimsical and childlike playfulness is a great fit for Punch A Bunch I feel. Love the title song especially the tropical sort of vibes. Wishlisted, can't wait for the release!
All the music is fire! Great job you've done really well for a first time. Cant wait to play the game its just been setting in my wish list for a while now
As a music producer and just general musician of many many years. You have my respect. You picked up on things way faster than most people and did a really good job. It’s really interesting to watch this sense I know all about the music aspect but know nothing about anything else development wise.
I've been making music for over 10yrs (3yrs professionally) now and I have to tell you that you are doing much better already than I was for my first couple of years haha! Keep it up! I've been following your journey for awhile and I'm really excited for the game! :)
I’ve actually begun thinking about getting into game development, and watching your series has made me fallen in love with the process. I understand that game development is not easy by any means, but just watching your game progress and get better with each passing session is just so rewarding because of all the hard work you put in. Your game looks incredible, and the music you composed is great, and I can’t wait for Punch A Bunch to release on Steam!
You've made me want to buy Fl Studio even more now, DAMN YOU!!
Awesome video, I've been putting more of a focus into my own tunes and seeing your soundtrack journey was fantastic! Also you should also try adaptive music sometime, even though it's pretty fuckin hard to make it’s really fun to mess with lol. Adaptive music could make fights and the tutorial section way more interesting. Like as you learn more in the tutorial the song gets more exciting, not exactly needed but really fun.
As someone who has been making music in FL for 5 years at the point of writing, I can say that you are honestly making VERY big progress, and you have a pretty good sense of atmosphere, which makes composition and sound choice more interesting Honestly I only have a couple things to note that might help, with the first being trying to focus a bit more on mixing (aka making elements more balanced in volume, positions in the frequency spectrum, and how much sonic space they take compared to each other), and even though it's a hard thing to get right, it's pretty important to at the very least learn how to use EQs and compressors to make stuff sound the way that you want The other one is that you probably will need some third-party plugins sooner or later due to a lot of FL's stuff being either mediocre or very unintuitive due to the interface (for example synths, Harmor and Sytrus are biggest offenders). The ones I would probably recommend in your case are sforzando (default soundfont player kinda sucks since it's only usable in x32), magical8bit, free Ample Sound instruments, LABS, Vital (a pretty complex synth but the ui is much more understandable than Harmor and it's very powerful too), ValhallaSupermassive, CamelCrusher, OTT, Keyzone Classic, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Free Orchestra for Kontakt. All of these are free, but if you are willing to spend some money, then Xpand!2 is really good for the amount that you pay and gets you a lot of instruments. And if you are willing to spend a heftier amount, Kontakt libraries are go-to when it comes to quality sound libraries (for example Shreddage 3, pretty much the best electric guitar libraries out there and well worth the price)
I can only agree. I have been making music in a much more limited DAW also for 5 years now. It was a long journey, but I learned plenty new skills. His approach is much better than mine, 5 years ago, but I guess I was far younger than him at this point. I'm finally getting FL Studio this Christmas and can't wait to use my skills on better Instruments and other features. Over the past years I gathered many free VSTs, but there are some in your list I didn't know about before. It's nice having all these listed up together. I guess that will help me out later, and therefore I must thank you.
Something you should also consider, is subscribing to the "Ghosthack" newsletter. I get eMails for about one or two years now and besides the normal loop packs and VSTs, from time to time they also send you download links for some very neat sound libraries and loop kits, that are completely free to download.
can vouch for BBC Symphony Orchestra in particular, that sucker has been so useful for making beats as a bedroom producer without any access to real instruments for melodies
@@maxlimit9129 Kinda hilarious that Spitfire Audio has so many free sound libraries like BBC Symphony Orchestra or LABS, considering they are so powerful and high quality.
this game looks super neat. Also....we make music the exact same way. No sheet music, no kind of stealing from other songs. Sit, do random stuff and hope it works lol. I want to compose music for an indie studio or 7 one day myself.
I may not be a music creator but I have been playing in band since I was in 5th grade, and I will say hearing your wip with the music was awesome (aside from the mess of your first attempt at the victory music, but we all have to learn). The victory fanfare also gets a vote for me, I like how it feels.
i dont know how following your game dev journey hasnt been enough motivation for me up until this point, but seeing you learn to make music is inspiring for real.
I've really been loving videos like this lately. Game dev stuff in general, but recently I've really fallen in love with seeing people make music for their games. Especially seeing beginners do it. It's honestly inspiring. It's something I want to learn how to do myself, but it has always felt unachievable. To me, visual art is easy. Coding was relatively easy to pick up. I've dabbled in a lot of different creative hobbies. But music theory and playing an instrument? That stuff seems like magic to me. I'm half convinced that musicians are secretly wizards. I just haven't been able to wrap my head around it. I guess everyone starts somewhere though, and videos like this make me want to learn.
As professional guy that jams out to music, you lit a flame in me, your music really helps me improve on my professional skills by jamming out to your songs. But really my favorite song is the one that you said you were going to put in the later fights, and more description is that it is a little bit more 8 bit. Great job and you are very motivational!
Fantastic musicing - especially the og battle theme, win fanfare, and training music. Some feedback based just on what I personally enjoy in games is don't underestimate the power of variants and adaptive soundtracks. It's a huge timesaver for you as you don't need to completely remake tracks from scratch if you can drop in and out tracks or use different instruments to suit, and bringing back an established motif at a big moment always hits nicely.
I have a suggestion: You should make the puppet have different punching animation to make it look more like a puppet Edit: is there a story to the game??
The music is pretty good for your first shot at it. Knowing scales and a little bit of music composition definitely helps in creating music. Good job my dude!
I had to fumble around for around a _year_ to make anything decent when I was figuring out music. And even longer to make anything as good as the stuff you've got here. You're fast enough of a learner that I'm actually kinda jealous. Can't wait to hear the final boss's theme and totally not do a cover of it
Idea: Maybe when a player’s health reaches a lethal point, the music intensifies. I know you want to get the game done and over with but I think this feature will make it great alongside some cheering from crowd.
For me the best you can get out of piano lessons and sheet that you can apply to daily use is keys, scales, dissonance and consonance. When I fidget around I'll start with a random key or find a song that has a vibe I want and yoink that key. Then I get the scale from that key. Map that out. Then decide the reaction/reaction I want to induce. From there I'll use the appropriate intervals to get that reaction. Then start deleting/adding notes. So if I want a up beat happy tune I'll use major 3rds and perfect 5ths. If I want to create suspense I'll use dissonant intervals like the 2nd, 6th, and 7th. And I normally come out with a fun rift. Or absolute shit. I do this for guitar and piano. But I dnt do game dev stuff. Just like your videos keep it up.
My brother pointed me your playlist journey to inspire me. It's been 3 years studying and I couldn't achieve something like a prototype. But I'm old so, I'm taking more time to learn the concepts etc. But I'm a bass player since I was 14 years old. And I'm playing video games since Atari 2600. The songs you are making are becoming pretty awesome and well done. Congratulations. You grasped the first important rule to video games music. They must be repetitive without being annoying. My suggestion is "Watch out, pay attention on your "instruments" choices". The tunes that you are making are perfect. But not for a boxing game. It sound's like a music that could be placed as a Menu on a beach, sunny game like Donkey Kong or Mario Sunshine. All tunes reminds me "jungle, heat, sun, beach", far away from boxing matches. The combination of the chords also matters a lot. Berry Gordy from Motown had a demand that all Motown tunes had to be Major Chords. That's why Motown sounded "Happier". To inspire all you guys, you can study my 3 favorite games soundtracks of all time. Castlevania IV from Super Nintendo are absolutely a BLAST, a perfect progressive rock to a MEDIEVAL game. Konami made this distinction based on the 80's Italian horror music that used progressive rock as soundtracks. The animated Series on Netflix was awesome. But if you played the games, you probably felt awkward. The soundtrack is amazing, proper for a medieval HORROR movie, classical tune, not progressive rock. Age of Empries Mythologies - This was a shitty game, they changed the mechanics, it was terrible to play. But it has some awesome tunes, exactly a good example on how to make video games music repetitive but not annoying. I like the soundtrack so much that I use it while I'm working. (video game music, not intrusive, not annoying and repetitive? AWESOME to get work done) Shadow of Colossus - Kow Otani is so Awesome and Kicked so much ass with this soundtrack that I'm using the main theme as an alarm music for around 15 years. Listen these tunes to grasp the theory and how to mix and match chords and instruments. If you are an intermediate musician, and can afford it, Berklee online has an awesome course on how to compose Video Game Music.
Absolutely agreed with all the points in this comment, that's amazing insight! Great information! I will definitely check all three recommended soundtracks ;)
I think every level should have a different version of the same song but like the instruments and tempo of the song changes so it has a unique distinct style
Honestly I would love a feature where the more you train for specific fights, the more hints you get on how to beat the enemy. Maybe like a train option on each enemy and every time you train it directs you to master different moves and it adds them to a white board in the training room or something. You could go back if you fail to beat them and you could continue where you left off and train more. Maybe you could add an advancement to unlock every hint for every opponent but overall it would give the players a choice between playing longer and learning a meta vs jumping right in and making the game harder. That way you dont lose any players by them quitting after giving up because its too difficult.
The victory song was fantastic, love it. Definitely your best one yet of the game so far. Kind of of poetic how it's a victory in your music making process, quite triumphant. Anyways, if I were you, beyond just the music, but also the games, I'd be super proud, you've really done a great job. I remember seeing when your first Devlogs came out, and am comparing to now. I may not have been able to follow along the whole way due to finding myself busy unfortunately, but wow, I am so impressed to what I've come back to, you've definitely made the most of this, and you most certainly have produced something well worth the time you put into it. Be proud
I was so confused why everything didn't sound quite right and why you were so proud of some of the tracks... then i realized that I had it at 2x speed lol. It sounds GREAT! keep it up :D
Idea: Keep the tune the same, but maybe slughtly change the tempo and instruments for each boss? And for the final one, maybe fully make a new one? Same for the victory tunes, maybe add a couple instruments for each league and make a new one for the last league?

@Frogger It has happened in the past so why not now?
@Frogger 🙄
@Frogger Nah bro this convo is a fools errand you're literally going back and changing what you said lol
It needs some crowd noise! Great work, it's really impressive to see you making everything! I think you did a great job on the music!
Exactly my thoughts, wanna hear the crowd cheer on good hits!
Was thinking the same when he showed the segment where big blows were being landed. A cheer or shock chant from the audience would add a ton to the ambience.
Imagine losing and even the virtual crowd starts booing
imagine the crowd cheering to the music as you land blows in beat of the music. Then when you're being beaten up, the crowd's rhythm breaks away and starts booing
I was about to say the same thing
Interesting idea! That could be really cool!
Like wii tanks!

15:00 I love the victory song. But I don't feel like it's worthy of being the final victory.
I think it has the same level of celebration that you get after winning a Pokémon match.
Generally I feel it makes a good after-matchup song. I think a good set up for this piece can go like this:
1. Match Completed
2. Short Fanfare or "loss-fare" (if you lose) & character pose/highlight
3. "Victory" song + Results menu/page/popup (if there is one)
I love how your melodies connect with eachother. It doesn't feel like "A part and then B part" it feels like an ongoing connected piece elaborating on a musical idea
I agreee
Thank you

Idea for music:
The main battle theme could be changed in slight variations for different fighters
Toby - no change just regular
Doug - Adding chain or metal sounds
Monk - adds… humming?? I have no clue honestly.
Cookie - no change just regular
Viking - Adds Viking styled drums
(Medium diffculty bosses 1-4) - Haven’t been shown
Sumo - Stomping or pounding sounds
Wrestler - make it more intense? No clue
Astronaut - Scientfic or spacey? Music
Huricann - eagle noises.
Puppet - Make it sound slightly creepier, maybe a musicbox?
(Other two hard bosses) - not shown yet
@@slowbrofriend6526 i think a perfect place for the eagle sound would be 16:35 when it pauses for a sec

Music is always fun to hear especially when it’s for a game
Keep it up!
Like a motif
I think a sound effect would work really well there
New Punch a Bunch dev log! Today is a good day!

I don’t know if this is what your already planning to do but you should definitely make a track for each boss so it’s not repetitive and so it adds variety to each boss.
YESS I AGREEEE
maybe the ouppet boss can have some more horror music and maybe the uhh in the mountain boss guy can had music like panflute and more traidional like? Idk whatbim saying 😂
Like how punch out remixes the main theme to fit the boss?
@@autisticandproudsnephew3636 could be a remix but I was thinking a completely different song like how hollow knight does it with their bosses

These songs are actually awesome, so catchy and a solid identity/personality for each one. Super inspirational!!!
I recommend not to add too much element to your song. It's easy to get lost adding stuff and make it too messy. It happens to me all the time. Also, is really good to have a main idea as the theme of the game and have something from that theme in every song. It give the soundtrack more coherence. Then you can play with how you change the theme and with witch sounds you choose to fit the vibe of a particular battle or ambient.
i agree a bit too much going on, better melodies > more layers. also felt that none of the songs really gave a boxing vibe. also the pan flute was a big no for me
that being said he did do all of this with minimal time and experience and i totally respect that. and the piano lessons are going a long way
I don’t really think every track needs to share a thematic element. They could be coherent in other ways. With games like shovel knight it’s the homogenous 8bit texture
@@dennisdeez123 you're right, the songs can share other characteristics, the point is that they have to sound like they belong to the same video game.
As a game music producer myself i think you did a pretty good job! It was especially cool to see how with every new track you became noticably better. I also believe that the piano lessons definitely have helped, even if just subconsciously.
Ive been watching these devlogs for a year now im so exited for the release

As someone who's been casually making music for a few years, this video really inspires me and reminds me of what can be done with just a computer and a MIDI keyboard. Your music is great so far, good luck with the rest of the game!
Tbh, the hard part of mudic production is the sound part. Monetarily and quality wiise
Lots of ideas: An intro animation that introduces each fighter coming from either end of the arena with fire and smoke and a little musical cue, more emphasis on the rubbery and bouncy animation, and punchout inspiration
I think the chilled out song should be for the menu. I dunno it just seems perfect for it. Amazing work.

As a former music producer, you learned how to make music suprisingly fast! Keep going!
Might not be worth looking into but a different font might make the game look cool, something a little rounder and bubbly like everything else if you could find one. Besides that I can’t wait for this to be out!
Yea a more cartoony font would be better imo
9:42 admit it, you just to drew a bunch of ( ' ---- ' ) smiley from desperation and then was hit with "wait a minute, this actually sounds great!"
and Gratz on publishing your game!
Fellow amateur pianist and DAW-tinkerer here - your progression from first attempt is pretty inspiring. Some of this would be at home in an original Crash Bandicoot or Spyro game. Absolutely love it :D
I’ve waited for this day… And it’s here… Another upload!
Loved this video! I can't believe you created all those songs without knowing much about music. Incredible! 👏👏Can't wait for the game to come out 🤩💕
Thanks Sara! 😁😋
I think that chilled out song you made would fit really well with that palm tree map you made. A real beach theme would go really well!
The Viking boss music is pretty good and fitting for one of your first tries!
A little thing, I always like it when a game uses one main Motiv also called a Leitmotiv, where the composer uses a base template and plays a new instrument and melody over it.
Also remember a lot of games use the main theme to represent the player so a triumphent version for winning a league could fit that plays after the winning melody.
as a music producer im surprised by how good ur first ever songs turned out
keep up the good work :D
My god Ponty, your cinematography has improved so much, great job
Wow, it's been TWO years since this game's development started. Amazing work and motivation!
@DaBlu Pandaz já foi banido
Custom Robo: ua-cam.com/video/nNg3tKH7vl4/v-deo.html
SD Hiryuu no Ken Densetsu: ua-cam.com/video/nTrP5c8qqFM/v-deo.html
See what I mean about the sound fonts? Not so heavy on the tropical instrument. I think the kinds of instruments in the Custom Robo music would fit your Action Song really nicely, too - it's still boppy and bouncy and fits the tempo well.
At any rate, keep up the great work! This really is such a fascinating, informative and entertaining series to follow! We're all pulling for you and Punch-A-Bunch!
The music turned out great, especially the music that plays while you’re actually boxing.
Dude, this songs are really sick. Imagine yourself after like 5 years, you'll be making the sickest songs ever
suggestion: make a trophy menu. every championship you win you gain a trophy in the menu, you could also implement challenges depending on each championship that could get their own trophy or achievement in the game's menu
Sounds great! Doing every aspect of the game by yourself is a hard road, but it can feel very rewarding too! There's nothing better than the feeling of surprising yourself with what you can achieve.
amazing how far you've come, i'm sooooooo excited for the release!!!!! 💞✨

10:18 Yeah, you definitely can.
Great Job Ponty! The number of Dev Loggers who officially release their game is shockingly low, so you should be very proud and excited!! :)
As someone who has been making music in FL for 5 years at the point of writing, I can say that you are honestly making VERY big progress, and you have a pretty good sense of atmosphere, which makes composition and sound choice more interesting
Honestly I only have a couple things to note that might help, with the first being trying to focus a bit more on mixing (aka making elements more balanced in volume, positions in the frequency spectrum, and how much sonic space they take compared to each other), and even though it's a hard thing to get right, it's pretty important to at the very least learn how to use EQs and compressors to make stuff sound the way that you want
The other one is that you probably will need some third-party plugins sooner or later due to a lot of FL's stuff being either mediocre or very unintuitive due to the interface (for example synths, Harmor and Sytrus are biggest offenders).
ITS A SCAM DONT FALL FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR MONEY!!
This is pretty impressive for not having previous music knowledge.
I dont know if you are already planning this but having an option to have loud crowd noises in the arena might also feel good
I've really been loving videos like this lately.

Maboy became a musician just to make a game, this is a real man
My brother pointed me your playlist journey to inspire me.
AWESOME to get work done)
Shadow of Colossus - Kow Otani is so Awesome and Kicked so much ass with this soundtrack that I'm using the main theme as an alarm music for around 15 years.
Listen these tunes to grasp the theory and how to mix and match chords and instruments. If you are an intermediate musician, and can afford it, Berklee online has an awesome course on how to compose Video Game Music.
This is probably the single most important comment on this video. The current music is great but doesn't fit the game at all.
Be proud
Great music, but I think for the in-game music it should be a little softer and bassy cause it seems slightly distracting
It would be cool if the theme for the tough guy near the end, who doesn't have any gimmicks, was a remixed version of the rookie's theme.
