    I'm curious how FMD compares with water fasting. I find FMD very difficult to do. It's easier for me to not eat anything than to eat a limited amount of food.

      I believe You. it must be horrible to try to eat only that and be satisfied. I don't think I would last on it. I mostly eat 1ce a day, but to satiety. regards.

      For me, there is an extremley difficult hump to get over towards the end of 24 hours, in and around; I had read that it was my GI biome protesting their lack of food in addition to other factors.

    • @adonvonilesere5642
      @adonvonilesere5642 5 місяців тому +1

      @@michengleman5696 I thought the hump was from transferring from glycogen to ketones, but your comment made me wonder: "what happens to your GI biome when you're doing a water fast"? I've read a few abstracts and there appears to be differences between water fasting and FMD on gut bacteria. I never knew. Thanks for your comment!

    The fmd seems to rewire your brain to want more wholesome food. I experienced this personally. Also, i have heard that it can make smokers dislike the taste of cigarettes afterwards.

      Interesting. There are so many experiments that yet need to be run on the FMD - food preference may be one of them.

    2.5 month of intermitent fasting and my white hairs loads of them disapeared only some left and I have pictures to prove it! Crp from 14 to 7 in 2 weeks and 0.5 less the 2 month later. Now is 6.5. My weight just gone down 1 kilo per month. I do 1000 calories on fasting day and 1300 on non fasting days . If I do more like yesterday i will put on weight. I can never go 500 calories like some people can. I also prefer not to eat rather than reducing food. I am 6foot5 and 90.7 kilos. I have a sedentary work. But walk once a day if I can and most days these days. I have to eat carbs otherwise my hair stops growing. My macros are 25 percent carbs , 48 fat , 27 protein , last week 34 carbs 47 fat 19 protein. It is different every week but most carbs and fat. I don’t think macros matter. Calories does. I was surprised I eat so much fat. I like fat anyway. Frankly I think it is the spoon of unfiltered extra virgin oil I put in my vegs every day! I just got the microbione tests results yesterday, interesting finding but for another time.

    So what is the essential factor here? Less protein, less calories or the combination of both?
    Would these health markers also react in the same way if the subjects would have the same total calorie/protein deficit spread over more days? (Like the standard 250-500cal deficit/day)

    • @Physionic
      @Physionic  2 роки тому +3

      Both, likely. I think those are the two most important factors. I think the severity of the deficit in both categories is what creates the overall significant drive for these results, so doing a much milder version over more days may have some effect, but less. Plus, this is supposed to be a temporary thing - an actual modest calorie deficit is a continuous method. A lot of question yet to be answered, I'd say.

    Thanks for the series. I think there are many more human studies, but they're a little difficult to find.
    The people associated with Prolon (a manufacturer of the diet) including Prof Valter Longo are not allowed to talk about the studies, so I have to track down the studies myself, and then try to understand them. Unfortunately my training is in engineering, so it's not easy.
    Wish there was an FMD studies channel on UA-cam

  • @littlevoice_11
    @littlevoice_11 2 роки тому +1

    I still wonder if the results were due to the percentage calorie restriction combined with the macro ratio/specific composition or just the macros? I.e. if the Prolon was more than one's 30-50% RDA then presumably the state of fasting would be less and the ketones etc would be less, IGF1 impact and reactive protein and not positively impacted etc

    • @Physionic
      @Physionic  2 роки тому +1

      You and many others (including myself), LV. I think the odds are high that it's a combination of the calorie restriction and especially the low protein.
