That slot in the lower cabinet by the window, is probably for a wooden cutting board. It turned out very pretty, and looks crisp & clean.

Great job Lauren! My husband laughs at me when I watch you b/c I tend to verbally coach/cheer you on thru the video. When you were talking about putting the cabinet catch hooks back on, I was saying “ nah, you want to just go get some magnets.” Then when you shot to “the magnets”, I clapped like I was at a sports event and yelled “That’s the way to do it!” He asked if you made a touchdown! 😂🤣😂. I said “YES” !

It looks like maybe the hinges are like those on a regular door and need an area of the wood chipped out to sink into on both the door and cabinet to make enough room to close.
Looks lovely and I love that you were able to match the tile to the paint for the lower cabinets..........looks awesome. Best of luck with all the rest. It's going to be so so nice! Lucky people who get to stay there.

Always cover the surfaces below where you're painting also. Anything could happen by accident...no matter how good of a painter that you are. I've been painting 46 years. All that work that you did on your countertop could get oopsied in a split second.
Maybe you could place some cutting boards on the kitchen countertops so people won’t cut on your new counters.

I love the blue and white with the brass! It’s really charming . You can buy flexible white trim that glues in place around your sink. It will protect against water damage and look more “finished”.
Yes, I still have the original piece that I just need to clean up and put back 😃

Lauren I love those cabinets, but then again I love the whole style of the kitchen. I know it's a airbnb but I could live there comfortably and happily.
Check out Ikea for bamboo cutting board with the extended lip, $25.00. Flip it over and it may just slide right in that cabinet slit, if thickness of board works and still have the runners in the hole. The extended lip keeps the cutting board from dropping into the slit and will coordinate nicely with your countertop. I have 2 slits in my 1925 cabinets and had to cut off 1/4 inch of length to slide into slits. Great color!

You may want to reconsider removal of the bread board. Your renters will be tempted to saw up your counter. At least provide one right on the counter. Some people will still mar your counter but you have your trusty surface pro. Good luck
Are you going to be doing something to finish off the counters along the sink where you can see the wood edges really clearly? Looks a little unfinished and I’m wondering about water so close to it?

Yes, I’m not quite done with it, I need to reattach the original piece that was there as well as caulk all the seams. Just need to epoxy the counters first for protection before I do all that

Gorgeous kitchen! I'm in New Zealand, and we fit the magnets to the underside of the shelves, so its easier to wipe the shelves.

Kitchen cabinets are GORGEOUS! I thought you were crazy when you started stripping all that old paint! Totally worth it, Lauren! You got a Gorgeous, quality paint job on those cabinets ! You were right to do all that work! Really LOVE the original backsplash and sink! the GOLD faucet and all the GOLD knobs look fantastic with the CLASSIC white and blue! Love it!!

Wow! You did it and your kitchen turned out perrrrfffffeeecctttt!! I normally don’t like cabinets with two different colors but this turned out beautiful. I think it is that gorgeous tile that makes it work so well. Very interesting tidbit about not being able to find the exact same size hinges as the original. I will keep a mental note of that for my own purposes,

I also think keeping the inside of your cabinets bright white is a great idea! It will make everything look so nice and clean! May I suggest that you line your drawers and cabinet shelves with some pretty paper? I found some wonderful shelf liners on Amazon..boho and cute florals that are lightly scented and they could be a nice little surprise when your guests open the drawers and cabinets and also, save all the work you did making everything so nice with the paint!! Believe me, guests will spill all kinds of stuff in there and you want things to be easy for you to keep it nice!!

Lauren, first of all, I love the color you mixed for the bottom cabinets, it is stunning. I think Beyond Paint will have to make a new color because everyone is going to want the color you mixed! On the right side cabinet door under the sink you have a big gouge and pin holes, you should have used wood putty to fill in then sand before you painted would have looked 100% better just saying
