Finally! I’ve found a demo video that isn’t some generic music shop style, blues scale, fretboard w*nking. I can actually hear what the pedals are likely to sound like in a way that’s a lot closer to my own playing style. Thank you!! This was SO helpful xx Now following 🥰🔥
Im glad theres a comparison video that exist for these pedals. I was on the fender site and was thinking what the hell is the difference. Thank you for this video!
Tuning tip for supersonic: 60 cycle hum just figured out that taking his strings out from the string trees was the main culprit causing it to go out of tune... he also slightly floats his bridge but relieving the huge break angle from nut to string tree has helped a TON with the tuning stability 👍
thank you for the video! I have been racking my brain about which one of these 2 to choose because I also want to use a tube pedal for synths as well. The LA is very nice, but too dark and fuzzy for what I am looking for. Glad I made the right choice with the Tube
Kind of ingenious for Fender to design two ostensibly similar dirt pedals with such different EQ curves, it's almost like they designed it around a two-guitar band, or a stereo rig. Different enough but they'd sound great together.
You made the best comparison by setting them beside each other. Thanks to you I don't want any more LA, cos is so dark. I was thinking that LA has the same bright tone as Tube, because, on the video from Fender or even others, it sounds nice and bright without comparing to any pedal at all. So, for me, Tube Distortion sounds better than LA. Thanks a lot!!!
My second amp is a solid state Katana 100 MKII. I have the LA one. It sounds really good and versatile on that amp's clean channel. Compensates nicely for the inherently bright sound of that amp.
Got the LA a few months ago, just to see, more like a "tube preamp" for my solid state 100W Hiwatt and crunch through the boost for the clean channel. I'm thinking of a stereo rig... maybe the Tube Distortion would be cool on the second amp for the same purpose :) or maybe I'll go for a fender-sounding preamp...?? Orrrr just get a Fendr amp :D what you think?
Great comparison, I'm pretty happy with the regular MTG Tube and will stick with it. The Full Moon sounds pretty good as well, Fender have done well with this range of effects. Love the Squier! Tuning Is Caring needs to be on a T-shirt
She must be new to playing guitar and doing gear reviews on youtube. Seems like she didn't prepare or do much research at all. Guitar was out of tune, amp sounds like muddy crap and the playing was mediocre at best. People should be required to get permission from the manufacturer first before they can review their equipment. I was on the fence about which one to buy and after seeing this I don't want either of them now lol. Don't quit your day job...
@@GetOffset I think it's pretty obvious, duh... Your review was crap and your guitar playing is beginner level at best. You shouldn't be reviewing any gear for any company right now, only saving grace is that the video hasn't gotten that many views so it shouldn't negatively impact sales of the pedal too much. Would be a totally different story if it got half a million views type of thing. If I worked in the marketing department at Fender I'd ask youtube to take the video down, sorry not sorry...
Two years later...this video is still helping people 🙂

Add another year to your post; truly helped me out. :)

Really opened my eyes to what difference is, still can't choose though.

I upgraded to roller string trees in mine so maybe it's the break angle or maybe they're getting caught or maybe a combo
Tuning is caring! Lol. Tube distortion for me.
You and me both!

haha I can't tell you what to get, but I do like Fender amps.
@@GetOffset Yup thanx anyway! cool attitude! I remember, first video I watched from you was the OBNE Maw :)
Love your method. Nice way to demo the differences.
Thanks so much!
That would make a great shirt ! Tuning is caring

I think Fender has done really well on the tube effects especially.
Thank u a lot!!! I needed his. Could u compare the tube distortion n tube screamer??
I don't really have a good tube screamer tbh! Not my favorite flavor.
This is great. I like both of them , but favor the tube distortion if I could only have one.
100% same
That’s where I heard it ! I have one of their cds .
Hmm can I use these as a clean boost, preferably the tube distortion?
I'd probably just get something else if you're looking for a clean boost.
Mtg la is better for melodic solo, mtg tube is better for rhytim.
I think you're spot-on with that one.
Just got this. Will the regular Boss 9 V adapter work for this?
It should!
Thank you for a clear explanation!!
Happy to help!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
LA more boxy & the other more open.LA sounds more British.I think I like it better.
I was surprised at how different they sounded!
7:20 is a nice rift
