How to CORRECTLY Wire Arcade Power Switch - 3 pin lighted

- I could not find any videos or descriptions online how to wire up and connect 3 pin male inlet power switches. I found plenty of 4 pin instructions. And getting the light to work. I primarily use these for multicade Arcade systems, Retropie machines, and custom built Golden Tee cabinets.
Here's the item from Amazon: BVPOW Inlet Male Power Socket with Fuse Rocker Switch, 5A Fuse 3 Pin IEC320 250V 10A C14 Inlet Module for Computer and Home Appliance Power Accessory 2 PCS
www.amazon.com...
This is just THE best video possible for this sort of thing - short and straight to the point, even mentioning possibilities where variances could change the wiring.
I wired mine exactly like yours and the switch lit up but didn't power anything. Then when you mentioned to watch out for reversed power switches, sure enough my switch was the opposite of yours. Switched the left and right wires and boom! Well not literally thankfully. Works perfect.
That’s awesome! Glad it helped.
thanks man. if i didn't see this clip,,my project would be on hold.
LEDCCFL you’re welcome! Glad I could help.
Thanks perfect
Thx
Only video that had my style of pins. So glad you made this. Just got two switches done. Thanks!
I found it amazing that I couldn’t find any other video on UA-cam to solve this problem.. glad I could help!
Thank you for this! Been searching for the same thing! Will this connection do so that the light in the switch is always on, or only when the switch is in the ON-position?
Preben Stub you’re welcome. In my set up, which is this video, the light is only on when the power switch is on
@@michaelhutter9432 Great! Saw some guides where the light either didn't work at all, or was on the entire time as well, so figured that I might as well ask you! But then this method works the way I want it to! Hope to be able to set it up next week (waiting for more China-stuff...)
HAPPY EASTER! :)
Would have been better if you followed NEMA color standards.
Thank you or doing this!
You're welcome!
Thank you sir for showing the correct wiring.
Thank you my friend :)
So many damn videos out there that say "How to correctly wire a switch....." And yours is the only one that has done it correctly yet it doesn't say it. LOL. You should have kept the colors uniform but yeah it's correct.
Good point about the colors, thanks for the feedback!
Thank you that was helpful.
Like others have said your the only one that showed it correctly thanks!
You’re welcome. it’s amazing I couldn’t find anything at all on UA-cam prior to making this.
how do i wire with a switch without a light? The back is very confusing as the switch has 4 pins, and there's a weird tray that can come out in the middle
Sorry I don’t have experience with a 4 pin one.
😂thanks
I did this the light come on without the jumper wire but when I plug something up the power light goes off and it has no power
what's the size for the crimps?
Mike,
Thanks for taking the time to post...doing something similar involving an illuminated 3 pin rocker and your video is hopefully assisting...
My application is not for an arcade game...and I am not using an all-in-one power inlet / fuse / illuminated switch... I simply have a power inlet, switch and outlet strip...but if I might ask ...would it possibly be a little more clear if you could have used a black wire for the jumper up to the left side of the switch, and then continue with a white wire (instead of green) just for clarity and continuity (not electrical continuity, color coding...).
It threw me off a bit looking at the video, lol (simple mind) until I realized that the fuse itself is inline with the black (hot) line... Stupidity on my behalf.
Again, thanks for taking time to shoot and post.
Thanks for the feedback and you’re welcome. And yeah I probably should’ve used a black jumper.
Only one that got it right in UA-cam after searching for days! Thanks!
Haha, it’s why I made the video. I couldn’t find anything either. You’re welcome!
Finally a clear, well explained video on proper wiring. Thank You!
Thanks for watching.
Thank you for this video
ANTONIO VARGAS you’re welcome! Glad I could help.
