My fiancé just got a 2020 terrain black edition slt with the 2.0T and with all the rebates and discounts it was very reasonable priced. I was very impressed by the price for the fact hers has everything you can possibly get in the vehicle and it drives amazing. Very happy with it so far!
Great video man. I just picked up the 2019 GMC Terrain blacked out edition. It’s base white with the black rims and trim. I 100% agree the wood trim looks like crap. Couple things to note, I have the SLE, but it has an 8” screen, the turn signal LED, blind spot indicators, and sunroof. So some of the things you zonked are available for not a lot more (paid 33,500 for mine). Also, they have a bigger motor (the 2.0 4 cylinder turbo charge that puts out 250hp). With all that said, you did an awesome review and it’s so far a great SUV with a lot of space, but doesn’t feel like the soccer mom SUV like most.
I have a 18 equinox with the same 1.5T engine with the 6 speed FWD, 80k trouble free miles and constantly gets 30-33 mpg. Im thinking about the new updated Terrian
Only if you are brainwashed to embrace this rigged inflation. 40 years ago you could have bought a very nice 2000 sq foot home for $32K. INflation is covert bankster theft.
I’m sure if GMC would have taken more time with the small things that matter in a “true special edition” model, it could have looked more refined on the interior. GMC should focus on the interior details to make special edition models flow cohesively for that smoother elusion. That brown blows and the silver should have been a black polished look like black stainless steel. Nice overall 😊 I just purchased a 2019 GMC Terrain Denali AWD - red - 2.0L turbocharged after test driving 5 different vehicles. I think 🤔 I made a great choice and I feel safety was a big impact on my final decision. The Volvo’s break system along with Lexus felt like I had to smash the break to stop. I wasn’t feeling the Grand Cherokee price point fair so I went with my first choice but not before evaluating other options fairly which were all Edmunds top choice safety picks. Truthfully, there isn’t a perfect car so you are lucky to have the perfect job test driving everything from 0 to 60, A to Z giving us your honest opinion which makes the experience a little less frustrating for everyone else.
They didnt do anything to make the interior part of the 'Black Edition' package. The Black Edition is really an appearance package for the lower trims, nothing more nothing less.
Jim Peddycord we have the 2.0 and it’s more than enough performance and power while Maintaining good fuel economy. Mind you will need to put 91 octane in it.
Bought an SLE 2020 with the larger infotainment system and side mirror lights and the bells and whistles. Would they classify this as kind of a premium/ almost luxury suv? It seemed like gmc was higher on the hierarchy in terms of luxury than more mainstream brands like Jeep and Chevy
In my opinion the SLT 2.0 Turbo is the BEST bang for your buck! The 2.0 turbo engine is still efficient and packs a punch. Averages 24 combined and 28 on highways, so no slouch for the added power! Zero to 60 in just over 6 secs. Takes 91 octane fuel... but we’ve found it well worth it. We opted for white with chrome in our 2019 SLT. Also! There is no wood in our SLT! Just beautiful soft touch blacks, dark greys, and nice aluminum’s. And a nice additional feature for my wife is the keyless button unlock on EACH door! Holding a baby in their carrier? Now you don’t have to find your key or walk to the driver side first to unlock! Just walk up to any of the doors and open with the press of the handle button. My ONLY “Zonk” on our terrain is the Auto Stop is not an option to turn off. You get used to it, but it’s so weird you don’t have an option to turn this off?? And a minor other thing is that the AC puts off a musty smell on rare occasions... but that happens in a lot of other cars too.
I paid 26k for the SLT model (the higher trim), with a turbo, and it only had 12k miles on it. We LOVE this car, it’s fast, gets good gas mileage, and has all the bells and whistles
Nice overview, Raiti! Keep enjoying all your videos! Fyi, black edition seems to be an exterior package only. Interior wise it will be based on SLE/SLT. SLT is a higher trim interior wise I believe. You can get back the black edition on either SLE/SLT trims. Otherwise I think this is a good midsize Suv priced well with AWD for those of us in the Midwest who need it . :)
Joe as usual you are on point. I like the design of the wood trim as far as the shape but the material as well as the pattern remind me of those old electronics with the fake plastic wood grain. And like you said they should have included a sunroof or moonroof. Another thing is the fact that it's called Terrain but it looks more like a vehicle better suited for a paved road. Overall great video.
There has to be a lot of different versions of this car cause I just bought a 2020 SLE black edition elevated and alot stuff missing from this one in the video I do have
If you would have told me that you personally put that wood grain trim around that handle to make a joke I would have believed you. What were they thinking? It looks like an old wood grain TV that was in the living room growing up.
You made another great review. You try to find as much positive as you can without leaving out your negatives. My opinion on this car is that its just a zonk in general. It looks like everything else. That interior is sad and the fake wood is disgusting lol. Not a had price though, considering what other makers want. Thanks joe!
GMC just cannot seem to get rid of tacky materials. That’s why I can’t stand domestics. It’s always gawdy like that drop dead hideous wood grain. Fire whoever signed off on that! Otherwise there are a few high points like those black wheels and that paint color. Thanks for showing us the Terrain, Joe.
Hey raities Is there any other nice SUV where the passenger seat goes flat forward. Like the ford F150 seats and toyota forerunner seats also this gmc terrrain all go flat so you can sleep in your car on a trip?
Compared to what!? It has normal visibility haha. Perhaps a slightly steeper front windshield and this smaller opening? But visibility is all around perfectly fine.
I’m with you on the ugly wood trim. Carbon fiber ( real or fake ) would look better. On this model I think the 3.6L V6 should be an option and have dual exhaust. No sunroof ? Big zonk! Good review Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Bust, these things are typical cheap GM products with cheap plasticy interiors and looks dated. This car will be worth 17k in a year or two, the 2018 terrain goes for 16k to 17k used with 30k miles
Great review.....I just got my 2019 SLE and you are sooooo right. No Fog Lamps on this model. You would think that that was standard. BTW the faux wood grain finish is horrible. Also theres not garage door programming on the SLE. Major, major disappointment.
32k for a 1.5L Eco!? Better put a V6 in that SUV for that price point! I like the exterior sure, but interior controls are a definite no for me especially the shift buttons. I'll take a simple Hyundai Accent for half the price, better interior, and way more reliable "tech." Speak of which @Joe... how about a 2020 Accent review? I'd like your take on their new CVT.
Just FYI, but those gloss black wheels are a pain to keep clean & always dirty. I have them & if you don't keep up on them it will look like one big dull tire.
Buying a GMC is like the difference between buying a Mac or a Dell. A Mac does everything very well, and with style and quality. A Dell does things decently well, but with very little style and low quality. A GMC is a Dell. Does it do what it’s intended to? Yes. Does it do it with style and high quality? No. Its a bit utilitarian with feigned style and quality. It’s a car brand for people who don’t put importance on the latter.
This is a definite miss for GMC. Just from the location of the SLE logo, I would not even consider buying it. I'm not sure who thought that was a good idea. GM cheaped out with the lack of fog lights. Even a pair of halogen fog lights would make the front end so much cleaner. Dual exhaust is a must as well. The engine...meh. Not enough power for my taste. The push button shift selector is also not my favorite. And the woodgrain??? Wow. So wrong. Even some faux carbon fiber trim work would have been better. Gloss black would have been better. Anything quite frankly would have been better. Also, it wasn't mentioned, but the front air dam looks so awful being so low to the ground. You can see it at the 2:50 mark. Way too low. Overall, way too many zonks for my taste. It would have to be priced around $25k to even consider it a buyable vehicle. Joe, I know deep down you loathed driving it lol.
I bought the 2020 GMC Terrain Denali top of the line and it's great and most reviews on it are good! And I think this GMC is ugly would not give it a second glance.
This is really nice. I would really like this is not for all the iffy things about GM reliability, parts/materials quality, etc. Much better styling than the old Terrain. The big square wheel openings were as atrocious as the obtrusive woodgrain door stumps in this one. I generally do not like wood trim on my cars. But the ones I had, even cheaper plastic looking still looked better than this. The Black Edition is similar to the Chevy Redline edition vehicles that are Sport performance oriented. Black, brushed aluminum, carbon fiber, hi tech, charcoal grey, blackwood, etc. Agreed that this special edition should have led turn signals on the mirrors, and dual e haust tips. Did they get the 2.5 turbo engine from a Honda Civic? Lol Engine is adequate, slow for a car, but passable for an SUV, though it's good to have the V6 option. Reasonable price point for what it has. You mentioned the tire width and profile, but hot the wheel size. Inside has great connectivity front and rear, but when did they replace the 12 volt outlet with a 9 volt one? Shifter would take getting used to. Potential car thieves would be confused. Nice to have map pockets on the back of both front seats. Overall pretty nice. Except for those things mentioned.
That is not the blackout package the gmc in front should be black I have the blackout package wish I could put a pic up so you can see what I am talking about
I almost spit out my gum when you said 1.5L motor, and of course the HP/TQ numbers. Ugly, cheap interior doesn't help. 32 grand for that pile? GM must be smoking that funny stuff. Hard pass.
I agree. The novelty of having everything black has definitely worn out. Makes me glad I didn’t choose black rims and didn’t black out the chrome bits of my car when I bought it in 2015.
Jowurel That’s cool. I have a chromed out lifted Silverado people always say that they like it because it’s different and they can actually see the wheels.
The GMC Terrain SLT has the same front grill as the 2012-2015 Ford Explorer Sport. These car makers really need to bring back the CD player. Every person I know misses it and/or refused to buy a vehicle without.
not the black edition. The logos would be black not red, also the black edit would be black not graphite grey Turbo? Where is the dual exhaust. Dude get it together will you?
Ugh. A turbo-charged four-banger? Is this an American SUV or a Japanese small car? Booooo! And that wood grain on the door is absolutely horrendous. Also, I'm hating the shifter. It makes Honda's push button one look like a masterpiece. That one looks cheap as hell. Why are we moving away from traditional shifters? Ugh. This entire vehicle looks chintzy. I expect more from GMC. Maybe I shouldn't.
You can buy American suvs with bigger engines from gmc if you want. They also make these for people who want the fuel economy. I know it seems strange to want a big suv with a four banger. But that’s where we’re at.
This video is okay; my primary feedback is that he is reviewing and SLE trim, and he is upset that it is missing many features that are standard on STL and Denali trims. Brah, it's an SLE!!! You should know better!
Is the gears risky for not being the original style for a any car? You know the big gear shifter to change gears manually? I am going to get a Sle and I'm curious of what would happen if the battery dies out for the terrain or if one of the buttons doesn't work. Is there some way to change gears or reverse or neutral the car if there is a problem with the gears?
My fiancé just got a 2020 terrain black edition slt with the 2.0T and with all the rebates and discounts it was very reasonable priced. I was very impressed by the price for the fact hers has everything you can possibly get in the vehicle and it drives amazing. Very happy with it so far!
How is it? Thinking about getting one
Great video man. I just picked up the 2019 GMC Terrain blacked out edition. It’s base white with the black rims and trim. I 100% agree the wood trim looks like crap. 32k is actually very reasonable because I figured you were gonna say 40k+.
PokerRun388 we bought our 2.0 Turbo SLT with 12k miles on it for $26k and felt like we stole it 🤣 we love this car!
85k subscribers, channel is really growing but good to see you are still the same Raiti's Rides we love!
Everything you say its missing is available on the SLT Black Edition, I went with SLT Chrome, just didn't like the black edition in person.
Ryan Miller love the black edition
Everything he zonked is included on the SLT model. Black wood trim, dual exhaust, black GMC logos, led on the side mirrors.
Fogs?
My very first GMC SUV!! Amazing job Joe.
Looks super nice. Love how the window gets narrow at the back. Front end looks great.
Outside they really knocked it out of the park!
I have a 18 equinox with the same 1.5T engine with the 6 speed FWD, 80k trouble free miles and constantly gets 30-33 mpg. Im thinking about the new updated Terrian
Should have done the SLT black edition with the 2.0 way more peppy with 250hp
I had to take what was available at this moment. Stay tuned for more!
either way people are going to look when you drive by
Black wood trim definitely! They missed with this one. Imo. But $32k can't expect too much. Great vid!!
You are so very right Radell! Thanks for watching and the compliment!

I’ve never been into SUV’s, but this is a nice and sleek looking SUV...very nice...I might check one out in person.
Great video, even though I'm not a big fan of the GMC,I still enjoyed your review on it.
Thanks Henry! That really means a lot!
There is no V6 option on either 2019 or 2020 Terrains. I'm going to test drive a 2.0 model but that 1.5 is too short on oomph.
Jim Peddycord we have the 2.0 and it’s more than enough performance and power while

Your looking at the base model Terrain. Why are you saying it needs dual exhaust and fog lights. All of that is available on the Terrain 🤨
In my opinion,it looks nice and for the price is ok.Great review
AAA... 32k for painted trim? 1.5litre 170+HP? I dunno about this... I will tell you this, love the exterior looks.
I totally agree with you about the exterior! I am not sold on the rest.

AGREED!
The Denali version has everything even available with full panoramic roof
man that is soo beautiful!! i love it on the terrain, way better then on the enclave, and the black edition does come with a dual exhaust option.

Just bought a 2021 version. Awesome car
It seems overnight all suvs have gone with the black rims. Like cars did a few years ago.
I totally agree with you!
You made another great review. You try to find as much positive as you can without leaving out your negatives. My opinion on this car is that its just a zonk in general. It looks like everything else. That interior is sad and the fake wood is disgusting lol. Not a had price though, considering what other makers want. Thanks joe!

Rear seats do recline
I think it would look more eye catching if it were raised.

I totally agree with you Joshua! You are so very welcome!
GMC and Chevy are the only companies I legit have hatred towards, other than those Chinese copycats.
You should review an SLT or DENALI edition it would address some of your ZONKS. 👍keep it up
I will get that together!
that wood grain must go!
Looks like an average compact SUV. Like the black exterior. Haven’t given GMC much thought over the years.
GREAT job sir! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
That means a lot! Thank you Rene!
Segment best cargo capacity at 81 cu ft with front passes for seat folded.
This is true Norm!
Hey raities Is there any other nice SUV where the passenger seat goes flat forward. Like the ford F150 seats and toyota forerunner seats also this gmc terrrain all go flat so you can sleep in your car on a trip?
Nope not at all.
Rented out one of these on my Canada trip with my family. It’s really hard to see in this thing. Blind spots are massive and the wind shield is tiny!
I drove one recently and I couldnt agree more
Compared to what!? It has normal visibility haha. Perhaps a slightly steeper front windshield and this smaller opening? But visibility is all around perfectly fine.
Had one for a rental it sucks. My wife also says it sucks. The audio system is trash. 2020 SLT AWD.
I’m with you on the ugly wood trim. Carbon fiber ( real or fake ) would look better. On this model I think the 3.6L V6 should be an option and have dual exhaust. No sunroof ? Big zonk! Good review Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
You hit it out of the park with your comments! Thank you as always for watching!
I have a 2020 Black Edition and I got it with the big sunroof.
6 cyl is not available only other option is 2.0 4 cyl.
Looks great for city driving and ride sharing
I totally agree with you Jay!
Bust, these things are typical cheap GM products with cheap plasticy interiors and looks dated. This car will be worth 17k in a year or two, the 2018 terrain goes for 16k to 17k used with 30k miles

Thanks Jay for always watching no matter what the vehicle!
Black edition with brown woodgrain and no black headliner? C'mon, you gotta zonk it
Yes sir!
GMC does that with al lot of their vehicles I can’t stand it
Can u show us a picture of the car ur talking about when u got through the history of the car
That is a great idea!
Hate the push button shifter. Reminds me of a 50s car. I
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one.
Great review.....I just got my 2019 SLE and you are sooooo right. No Fog Lamps on this model. You would think that that was standard. BTW the faux wood grain finish is horrible. Also theres not garage door programming on the SLE. Major, major disappointment.
Congrats! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one!
I brought 2020 GMC terrain I like alot to learn about the vehicle could some one tell me where back up pocket
32k for a 1.5L Eco!? Better put a V6 in that SUV for that price point! I like the exterior sure, but interior controls are a definite no for me especially the shift buttons. Going from a sedan to an elevation edition will be a total shock. The road is so far away.
Nice SUV I horde that GM go to come out new For 2021?it finally gets rid of that column shifter
Sorry I meant to say Escalade
I'd buy that now

does this gmc terrain have a cvt transmission too?
No it’s a torque converted automatic 9 speed
Joey why are all the SUV's equipped with 4 cylinder engines. What nice SUV's have a v6 engine.
I guess it boils down to fuel economy standards and emissions.
Thanks for the review, now I’ll go buy the Cherokee.
You are very welcome!
I bought the 2020 GMC Terrain Denali top of the line and it's great and most reviews on it are good! And I think this GMC is ugly would not give it a second glance.
Michael scott Burns that’s because the Denali trim screams grandma and grandpa 🤣
why is the subtitles of the video in Korean? not English ?

Wood colour trim in a black edition. You need a new word, Zonk isn't strong enough for situations like this.
ha i like my wood trim in my black edition. Girlfriend hATES IT
How you don’t put fog lights the hole is there ..and that wood ugly
I think this is probably the ugliest car that came out in the late 2010s.
All blackout vehicles are on trending nowadays lolll love it though, rear similar to kia suv especially the light
You are so very right Kenny! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
How tall is he?
I am 6ft tall
Why do you keep saying v6 there is no v6 at all for this vehicle. It has a 1.5t and a 2.0t
I almost spit out my gum when you said 1.5L motor, and of course the HP/TQ numbers. Ugly, cheap interior doesn't help. 32 grand for that pile? GM must be smoking that funny stuff. Hard pass.
I feel your pain Ben! I am glad that you didn't swallow your gum!
With discounts you can’t get these for 25k or below and I think the interior is well laid out.
This should have been a v8 come on GM
Am I the only one that is getting tired of the black on black on black on black etc etc. Nice enough for a 32K SUV price range. Have a good days guys!

GMC is my favorite SUV manufacturer, I can't deny it anymore 🤷🏿♂️
not the black edition. The logos would be black not red, also the black edit would be black not graphite grey Turbo? Where is the dual exhaust. Dude get it together will you?
Looks like they were trying to cater towards women with this one.
I hate these things so much and I really don’t get why someone would buy this over the competition even if they found it better looking
Sounds like it has pneumonia when you rev it.
Great analogy!
That wood grain is horrible. Literally, walk away from every single car that has that wood grain. What is this, 1970's paneling?
Motor is too small it looks like a sport suv so when a track hawk pulls next to you Lol
That is a very good point!
The good news is it should depreciate quickly so you can get it much cheaper in a few years 😉
I totally feel your pain JJ!
That is a very good point!
You hit the nail on the head Ryan!
This video is okay; my primary feedback is that he is reviewing and SLE trim, and he is upset that it is missing many features that are standard on STL and Denali trims. Brah, it's an SLE!!! You should know better!
4 cylinder 👎
I feel your pain!
It’s ok for the price but I still don’t like it cause boring and unreliable
It's big them the others #gmc
Thanks for letting me share it with you Jimmy!
That is a great question.
Mega bust 😂
