I don't know why they bothered. I'm from Aberdeenshire and I can tell you it's a complete waste of time. We all read English, we're not taught to read and write in Scots. We can speak it, but I don't even know some of those words.
I used to have two Scottish friends and even though we were around each other for about 3 years I don’t think I understood a single thing they ever said. I mostly just smiled and nodded at them.
@ludwig amadeus It's something people disagree over. Some people argue for the preservation of Scots. I think it's a waste of time teaching us to read a "language" that no one writes in. I use the term "language" loosely because most of the words are just English words pronounced differently. But I do like that we're taught Scots poems and plays in school. It's worth learning about the history at least.

I loved this movie.. honestly sent me down a rabbit hole of Gerard's other movies. I haven't had an actor or performance have that effect on me in a while. Not just is he incredibly talented and relatable but he's such a genuine person, humble, can poke fun at himself, funny and he isn't like alot of actors who answer in circles and never make sense, he has an actual intelligent conversation while being down to earth and good fun. And then he's studied and practiced law..

I HEARD HIM SING ONCE AND HE IS TERRIFIC. WISH HE COULD GET INTO A MUSICAL. HOPE HE WILL BE AROUND FOR A LONG TIME. ALL THE BEST WISHES TO GERRARD.
@@abbeybercasio2283 I was thinking more of a live action movie, where he has the main role. A former "badass" who now just lives of the land for example, having a farm maybe, living the simple life, very remote and lonely, when something suddenly threatens his life, maybe a gang of people arrive at his farm, bank robbers for example, on the run, looking for a place to hide for a while after a heist that went partly south, then taking him hostage. A very very bad idea it should turn out to be. Yeah i could see this movie in front of me, R-Rating and everything. :D

I find it interesting that the UK native actors nail the American "dialect" perfectly; there are so many dialects in the UK it's probably quite the challenge for American actors to learn and speak many of them. I'd no idea Gerard Butler was native and speaker of the Scottish dialect until now. Funny how it's hard to imagine your own native-speak as a dialect.

This gives me a whole new appreciation for Law Abiding Citizen.
Gerry made more money with 300 than he would have as a life time lawyer! Im glad he is an actor!!!!
So is he.
eh not rly

A gentleman. He greeted the audience 3 times before his interview. Cool. I never understood why celebrities never greeted the audience back after they cheered them on on their entry.

I love the Law Abiding Citizen references
That clip was intense!!!
Confession: I'll only watch this movie because Gerard Butler's in it. ♥

I HAVE ,LOVED HIM FROM THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM IN A MOVIE .WHITE HOUSE DOWN. HANDSOME, TALENTED BEAUTIFUL SCOTTISH ACCENT. A GENTLE MAN, SINGS SO BEAUTIFULLY . I HEARD HIM SING ONCE AND HE IS TERRIFIC. WISH HE COULD GET INTO A MUSICAL. HOPE HE WILL BE AROUND FOR A LONG TIME. ALL THE BEST WISHES TO GERRARD.
Gerrie is a very chatty chappie 🤣
OK we need a Scottish movie where Butler speaks like this, pronto!
Maybe a highlander remake
@@sgttada5518 Actually not a bad idea at all :)
Well I am Scottish lolol
Uhm.. like in How To Train Your Dragon? He’s the Viking dad
I’m so glad I saw this interview, thought I was alone in feeling the way I did. I too trained to be a solicitor, went through years of studying and doing the requisite amount of training, got qualified... and then upon employment realised I HATED some parts of it (not all) and quit my job on Monday. Sigh 😖
Glad you realized that it wasn't for you. Life is strange like that.... Sometimes we get into something only to later realize that we can't see spending the rest of our lives doing it. Best wishes tu you. Remember that life has many doors that we haven't thought of opening
I'm a Lawyer too and I struggled with these same issues. Good Luck to all of You :)
Eye candy!! It doesn’t matter how he says his name, he looks very handsome allways!!😍

YES, fam, I was looking for a comment like this! I am so hyped for the third movie, too!
THIS training he has is why he was amazing in A Law Abiding Citizen...
❤❤❤❤❤
found that movie by accident last year - it was good! VERY entertaining, lots of suspenseful moments. they did a great job keeping us glued to our seats!👍🤗😄😊
They should make a movie about Gerard Butler's life. Truly fascinating no bullshit
Classical lawyer's answer: "it depends on..."
Gerard should play a Lawyer in a movie, he would be amazing for sure!, he would easily get an so many awards! Amazing actor!
He's the nicest man on earth 💕

Would’ve been an interesting interview if Colbert would’ve allowed him to actually speak. Constant interruptions!
American talk show hosts 🤦♀️🤦♂️
@@mariagabbott Yeah...Oprah is like the WORST OFFENDER. Colbert and Kimmel and Conan are bad. Interestingly...Fallon sometimes just shuts up and listens.
Top 5 lists I've watched
1 300
2.God of Egypt
3.Olympus/ London has fallen
4.hunter killer
5 wrath of Gods
Jo-ann Flores I liked Gerard’s part in Gods of Egypt, otherswise it was shit. It was too bad cause I love ancient Egypt
His best movie was def 'Law Abiding Citizen'!
Den of thieves
So law abiding citizen is a true story of him, interesting 🤔 lol
Gerard Butler is one of my favourite actors; plus I love his accent
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm sure he would of made a great lawyer . I'm really happy he decided to go into acting though he is a great actor the best in his field .He puts emotion into every roll he plays and makes all his characters so believeable.
Hello gorgeous 🌹
À collègue of my mum actually worked with him in Glasgow.....apparently he was the worst lawyer she ever met, he was always late and just didnae care

Sounds like my former boss haha, the worst attorney ever!!
Hung over as well?
Gerry is a man with a capital M. And being Scottish just takes perfection to a whole new level
What has Scottish got to do with it? You can be a man being anything.
I miss his phantom of the opera days
As a former ASW officer I was impressed with Stephen defining cavitation. I really don’t need another reason>. He had me with his first :”ping”.
He will play James Bond, just a matter of time
OMG I wish
Yes, it is a matter of time. He is too old to play Bond as we have seen him till now.
He would of already, if he was going to get that role.
Years ago it was in all the papers here in UK he was to be Bond...wasn't to be they thought he was too much like Sean Connery - 😕
No a black woman is the next 007...
Where did it go wrong?
Love Gerard for this aura. If I could choose a captain I want someone like him. controling the situation and cool like ice. great

Nice actor...really inspired from ur great acting...respect you
Gerard Butler is the ultimate manly fantasy - specially in those loin cloths he wore in 300 👌🙌😍👍😘😘😘
🍆🍆🍆 Merry Christmas.
I thought so too for a while but then sometimes he comes off kinda wimpy/geeky so not so much anymore. Now Russell Crowe… Don't get me wrong Gerard; my knees buckled from your role in ?? wtf, the movie with Hillary Swank. the chick flick. sorry, came up blank and didn't feel like googling.
I liked him SO much better in Dracula 2000...the intense vibe he gave off was sick. The movie itself was blah

thanks. use imdb all the time; just didn't feel like going there at the time.
For some of the UK dialects I need subtitles; I wonder if American dialect ever presents such a challenge to UK speakers?
I'm in quarantine but also in love with this man 😍

Gerard for new James Bond!

Idris Elba all the way
@@cheesecakelasagna ABSOLUTELY!!!! He's my 1st choice....just don't know how receptive the world is yet. Here's to hoping! Gerard or Alexander Skarsgård are my #2
