This editing is awesome! "This is nooooot gonna be my favorite..." Cut to Brendan: "Palate weight, Palate weight! PALATE WEIGHT!!!"
Haha! Lochie is a master of his craft!
A communal blind wine tasting, in the Different Drop shop - a great collab and something for us Sydneysiders 🤞(love these Aussie cheaper bracket tastings!)
Haha! We'd be keen as mustard!
OMG FRUITY LEXIA ! Totally forgot how that got me through uni lol "May contain fish products". was always the justification for it being a balanced meal IE good protein and carbs lol
Haha! How good right?! The revival of Fruity Lexia is happening - in the guise of Orange Wine!
love it as always, good work
Didnt know that about the 2 types of fiano in Australia explains my hit and miss relationship with it.
Then there's stylistic variation, and huge changes in how it tastes based on where it's grown too!
imo a lot of the interest is lost when the price point is known. waay more fun when people dont know how much the wines cost that they r tasting
It was definitely a tougher bracket when it's known, that's for sure - 100% agree.
now i know im cheap for complaining about my 20 dollar a night mead habbit 😂
Bahaha!
Great discussion of Penley as one of those larger brands - would you ever consider a tasting of Aussie wines that are *most likely* available to foreign consumers? I have adored the Delinquente wines in London (as well as those of Unico Zelo, of course), but I have also had some delightful recent encounters with producers whom I know less well (the Yarra Valley Chard from Dappled, for example, being a stand-out). Selfishly, I would love to hijack your wealth of knowledge to direct myself toward some more lovely wines from - if you will excuse the phraseology - down under!
Haha! Believe it or not, we're actually trying to do that right now! But it's hard without actually knowing who is distributed where - and that information is a closely guarded secret (it seems). Our only other option is to literally take the show on the road!
@@wineforthepeople I purchased a bottle of Kilikanoon Killerman's Run Riesling for approximately $9 at my nearby wine shop (in the middle of the US) and for my first Australian Riesling I found it quite good. Reminded me of a few higher end Albarinos I have had. You're more likely to see Australian Shiraz than anything else here though.
@@electronicmaji That is INCREDIBLY good value! That's cheaper than we can even get it here in Australia! Although I doubt there'll be as much Shiraz from Australia over there in the future - the vines are being pulled up as we type!
@@wineforthepeople It was on sale mind you, they were clearing out several cases. I think they were down from $18.
@@electronicmaji 50% off?! That's absolutely wild!
Is this just an ad for that wine shop that's selling these?
Haha! Not quite - Different Drop support the channel by choosing the brackets and giving us a small kickback if you buy via their website (if you're Aussie) - but you're more than welcome to buy these from wherever! The channel itself is entirely independent - we just care that you're drinking wine!
