Enjoy these times guys. I'm 57 years old and I can tell you, times spent with friends doing things like this will be the things you remember the rest of your lives. What I wouldn't give to go back in time and relive some of the times I spent with buddies doing things like this. But, sadly, a lot of those buddies are gone now. So, take pics and videos....you'll be glad you did! Stan
Still enjoy this video, great memories for me seeing the old place, and knowing the Son`s Diesel Fergie and the Toppers are here with me, along with my Petrol T20. Both run sweet. (l was DownToEarthling)
Even though it wasn't my Gran or my family, I really miss the place too - it had a great olde-world Kentish feel to it and we had some fun times there.
Mower is a Haytor make.Dad had one in NZ.TOWed w a Fergie petrol, full throttle in first, chop them thistles, watch for rabbits theyll crouch flat in front of ya🇳🇿😎
Totally agreed, not a single fuck given for the environment there, when you plough up that driveway not only will your potatoes be stony but they will be toxic!
I wish annoying tree huggers like yourselves would shut up and embrace the power of Ferguson engineering. The most it will do is kill the grass which will grow back within a year. I don’t think they would just “have a bucket to hand” would they. They are in the middle of a random field testing out a topper when water started bubbling out the sump due to a torn piston liner gasket.
Wasn`t exactly Texas Tea, but soon in the workshop and drained responsibly, it was oil and water mix. The problem was the core plug in the top of the head popping up due to age, this can be seen at 6mins 22 seconds near the tall stud, and the head was cracked at the thread, an old repair had been done before our ownership. Another head was sourced and fitted. Job done.
I really like that video. Saw. It more than once. I mow with a Massey 240 , but also own a to20 which I. Wouldn't take any thing for. Also love the sound track.
Hell, that mower looks leathal with the PTO shaft and pulleys all exposed. Easy to maintain though!! Not seen an exhaust set up like it before though, I thought the T-20s with underside exhausts had a different manifold, had it been upwards before then converted?
please dont use easy start! its is the worst possible thing you can do to a diesel! find out why its not starting properly and sort it! it destroys the rings etc. one tip is you can use a hot air gun or at a push a hair dryer to heat the air going in- makes a big difference!
Does the right side rear hub pop out(when installed) compared to left hubs-which is flush? I wanted buy one TO-20 here and was surprised to see right hub not being flush with the wheel/tires.
a crap what a bitch id end up just having some sorta system where the can is constantly mounted to it or something sprayin it in all the time would piss me off. how is it doing anyway saw the other video of it is it still going strong .. even when it is high as hell on easy start aha
+The Cornish Dairy Boys I have a 154 Leyland that would only start with starter fluid I got it off, took a long time to make it start with out it and a lot of cranking, what make mower is that
The Cornish Dairy Boys The Cornish Dairy Boys what a load of rubbish!! Of course cranking won’t damage the engine, as soon as it starts turning over oil is being pumped around the engine anyway! The cheek of some keyboard mechanics
Some very funny comments below very funny indeed well I think they are jokes about mechanical engines becoming addicted to easy start like a human gets addicted to heroin that's got to be a joke surely
tommytrax1 No joke. Using easy start on a regular basis can indeed lead the engine to be reliant on it. It is usually because the valves become pitted. However it can bugger the rings and in extreme cases the violence of it can bend a con rod. Trust me I've seen it happen.
Yeh nobody's an expert right away. These tractors were all sold to the original owners with maybe a days worth of advice from the dealer, some farmers may have attended schools for using them, and then the tractors were used, hard, for decades, until replaced. These guys know the worth of the TEF20 and will do their best not to utterly wreck it I'm sure, they'll figure this out and the tractor will be no worse for wear :)
Especially when standing behind a slasher with it going, you won’t have time to dodge anything like a stone or small piece of wood, you will not be singing with the music !!!!
@@ptph37 The first set of Hayters we had, had three alloy turntables with four triangle blades bolted on each one, they would wear the bolt heads and fly.... never to be found.! you knew when one came off, the topper vibrated.. the worst thing to hit on the ground was probably a molehill of sandy soil..

@DownToEarthling Great to have a family 'heirloom' like that. Can't wait to sort it out and see it working at 100% again.
I wouldnt eat potatoes out of that dirt after you drained the sump out... Are buckets very expensive in Britain?
Agreed, that's really poor form..

Nice vid, the stuff you guys get up to is petty much exactly the same as me, land rovers, tractors, anything with an engine. Top stuff
Not easy start! they have a flame plug for easy starting!
Great Sounding Tractors,
Ticking Like A Rolex! ;)

EngineEngineer unfortunately these are know to be hard started I know all about it
Does the right side rear hub pop out(when installed) compared to left hubs-which is flush? I wanted buy one TO-20 here and was surprised to see right hub not being flush with the wheel/tires.
12 different combinations of hub plate and rim width positions on rear wheels. also front axle extendable and wheel reversal on hub..
It is a cover by The Wurzels :)
if u use easy start to much the engine will be come dependant on it thats y on some cans it says only use when needed
Unfortunately this Fergie is already 'addicted' to it, and won't start without it.

TEF 1954 ish
@@SmudgeSmith-66awesome as, mines a TEA20 - 1953 model
Thanks, Nice music, but i found i already by myself :)
Easy on the startin fluid bro
What's the black smoke about at the beginning
Nothing serious, just the engine bogged down due to the blades set too low, and going up hill.
The smoke and the music Just for the ride you driving stovepiper Sierd let's try cooking oil that place smells nicer ass as fuel

Poor tractor! These guys need some education!
They`re getting it. Not everyones born and expert

Fair play to the lads, it still runs today.. in 2023.
