It's been suggested that it was a young male Minke whale? Apparently it's been there a couple of weeks. It's hard to identify as there is no fin visible. A blue whale? Didn't know we got them in our waters?
@@timothystravels8492 Yes mate blue whales have been spotted around uk, mine was only a guess looking at its underside. Im sure someone will know for definite shortly.

I don't see whales very often, they are incredible creatures, so to get a close look was very special as well as sad.
Impressive creatures. The authorities generally recover whales and test for disease. Great capture

Hi Davey, looks very much like a blue whale, young but its been dead a while the colour change is due to decay.

Most probably a minke whale as you get loads on the east coast especially Whitby as they have boat trips to go and see them up close
