This is a story that I've begged for. I want to see members of the Empire either be taken seriously. I hate the Disney polarized form of the Empire: Either bumbling idiots or Evil for the sake of evil. Here we have a pilot that cares about his unit, is smart, ready to sacrifice himself, and wants to see justice delivered.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing, and that I got to be a part of the Star Wars universe. Hope folks enjoyed playing Star Wars: Squadrons, and a special welcome to my new Imperial pilots. Welcome to Titan Squadron. 😊

@@freddman0135 If it were a TIE/LN (Line) Fighter, I'd say yes, but the TIE/IN (Interceptor) Would be moreso a comparison between the F-4 Phantom and the MiG-21; the F-4 can do it all, but the MiG-21 is cheap, it's fast as fffuuuuuck, and it can still tangle with even the best fighters (granted, the MiG-21 desperately needs modernization to current standards to be at all effective against modern fighters, but c'mon, it's the empire, of course they'd be keeping their stuff modern and applying incremental upgrades to it's systems to maintain combat relevance)
It's amazing that they managed to completely reverse the Rebel/Imperial dichotomy in a seven minute trailer like this. A desperate, underdog Empire being driving back by the victorious New Republic. An X-wing pilot coming across like a vindictive asshole chasing after a wounded foe that can't escape anyway while the TIE pilot is the hero, trying and failing to save a wingman at risk to his own life before taking on and defeating the X-wing pilot. And even if Squadrons is a complete and utter failure (which I don't think it will be) it did give us this awesome trailer. My hats off to all the people that have worked on Squadrons and this trailer.
@@stealthnuke1 I'm not saying it doesn't make sense. Just that it's amazing that we would actually get to see such a reversal like that. Usually they tend not to show the Empire in such situations or the Rebels/NR behaving like that.
I like that they make it hard to see the Rebel pilot's eyes because he's the "bad guy," like in the original trilogy when you never see the TIE pilots' faces to hide their humanity.
That was actually a really smart bit of storytelling. Keep the bloodthirsty rebel pilots eyes hidden but have the imperial pilot remove his helmet. It's the first time we've seen star wars actually treated this way. I hope they keep doing stuff like this, giving us interesting new stories to keep the ip alive. So much potential that is yet unrealized.
When Gray pulled that hard turn creating the wall o' water and the Imperial theme started...I LOVED IT!!!! Such a masterful use of music in addition to an amazing scene and bit of storytelling.
@@craigory8123 I'd say it's because it's either literally just tracks from the original movie, or something intentionally similar, which ends up bland. I've got this game and most of the music is Imitation Williams, and I don't think this piece is anywhere in it. This one, is exceptional.
As brilliant as this entire thing is, what strikes me the most are the little details. The way the Captain follows orders without any protest and abandons the attack run, it’s perfectly in character with a squadron leader. They need to enforce rigid discipline to have any chance of surviving - given the lackluster state of Imperial fighter tactics - and he probably wouldn’t want to commit any of his pilots to a run where they’ll be under fire from at least two warships the entire way. Then the captain of the Overseer (I assume that’s who she is) actually having a sensible strategy and choosing to preserve her remaining assets and retreat rather than fight against terrible odds. And when Grey (I think that’s his name?) goes to rescue the TIE bomber, it shows the kind of bond that starfighter pilots have. The Rebels and the Empire probably had very similar ideals in that regard, considering the insanity of taking cheap fighters into space and trying to destroy warships. The scene in the wreckage with Grey powering down all his systems is fantastic. There’s not a “power off” switch for every system, he has to individually deactivate everything and rely on what looks to be passive radar (since it isn’t constantly pinging). This is great, passive radar wouldn’t be picked up like active radar would on sensors, so it makes sense. Then the TIE Interceptor starts failing, and the pilot doesn’t seem immediately worried. He’s calm due to extensive training, experience, and the fact that his life support systems don’t require a fully-sealed cockpit unlike the X-Wing. The descent through atmosphere is gorgeous, especially the bow wake. And the quick transition into atmospheric dogfighting is equally stunning. It’s reminiscent of modern dogfights when they’re WVR. Shows off the maneuverability advantage of the Interceptor too, as well as the speed advantage. The water trails from the ion engines are great. They’re spiraling like trails from an actual jet engine, unlike those seen in The Force Awakens. Beautiful stuff. Finally, the way that the TIE slowly tips down when power is lost, and how it just flies to pieces upon contact with the water. And how the Captain looks like he expects to die. It’s so accurate, which is something that you rarely see from Star Wars. The TIE doesn’t just drop and start spinning, it falls forward gradually because it has to have been designed for atmosphere as well as vacuum. And without a FBW system to keep it stable, aerodynamics takes hold. As a final note, it makes me so happy to see that the writers/CG artists chose to keep both the eyes of both the TIE and X-Wing pilots covered until the end. A lot of media will try and humanize one side while demonizing the other just by showing or not showing eyes. As an easy example, having the visors of Rebel pilots in the OT be see-through while the Imperials used fully-enclosed helmets. By putting both pilots here on the same field, the viewer is left to judge them in more unbiased way. To see them both as pilots fighting for their respective sides. Edit: Rewatched it, forgot something. The Rebel pilot taunting/insulting the Imperial pilot - who stays silent - again makes total sense. The Captain is focusing only on keeping his Interceptor up and surviving, plus he’s been trained to essentially act without emotions in combat. The Rebel is a lot more...shall we say, open with his feelings. And obviously he’d despise his opponent, so the spite works perfectly
One I like is the rebel pilot referring to imperials as imps, it's an expression that I don't remember hearing in the movies, only in the comics, makes me hopeful that they will use other things from the comics as well.
I just feel the moment you realize your efforts to save the bomber were worthless. Then all the sudden, you realize you might have a slight chance of getting out the grasp of the incoming Rebel fleet. Once you get over to the hangar, you feel like you just dodged a bullet.. then… boom. It’s gone. It’s not coming back. You didn’t make it in time like you thought. It’s hopeless now. You’re the prey of the Rebel Alliance
That's one badass pilot. I love how we see sorrow when a fellow imperial dies. Dissapointment when he's left behind. Skill and determination to survive. Even moments where the rebel pilot seems like the antagonist. Just, lovely.
That's cause the rebel pilot *is* the antagonist, in this case. Remember, antagonist doesn't always have to be the "bad guy", it's simply the character or thing that opposes the main character.
Having played the game now for a fair while I'm impressed as to how close this cinematic is to the game. It's all there: the Energy distribution, energy dumps to required system, boost, drift turns, counter measures, weapons recharge, etc. I remember the Elite: dangerous launch trailer and then other videos dissecting it: "you can't actually do this", "this is not possible", "oh if only they had included this", etc. Having a game cinematic which actually fully embraces the game is very refreshing.
All the items you mentioned already existed in the old Tie Fighter games though. You wanna slow but don't want to lose energy efficiency? Divert power to weapons and shields from the engines (certain Ties have shields. If not, it's just between engines and weapons) (there were 3 energy bars with limited energy distribution. Average was equal but that was weak all around. You fit the according to your playstyle). So, it's more like they putting elements that already existed in previous iterations into their trailers.
@@lazmanariffsulaiman7569 I wasn't talking about game features though where except for drift turns you could do more or less everything before. I was talking about a CGI trailer which is faithful to the game it is depicting. Have a look at the launch trailer of elite dangerous ... Except for the ship models it does have nothing to do with the game. This one here is exceptional in is authenticity.
@@gregorylumban-gaol3889 They almost did with the recent turd of a trilogy. Such an absolute waste of the universe and story, all for the sake of pandering.
@@gregorylumban-gaol3889 Correct. The Empire was from the first Star Wars film supposed to be the Evil Overlord that the heroes had to defeat. They where not supposed to be viewed as complex or caring. Lucas even deleted a scene from episode 6 where an Imperial questions the destruction of the Moon of Endor because they have troops present. The Empire is supposed to be Evil, and the Rebels are supposed to be good. They new movies made a few points out of this, and many fans hated it. Understandable it was a change from the baseline of the orignal Star Wars universe of Good vs Evil.
barunedpat That’s because times have now changed. Back then during the original trilogy, rebels were seen as heroes by the mass. But these days, rebels are seen as evil who practice terrorism. We are now the Empire. That’s why now more Star Wars fans have sympathized with the Empire. It’s also a nice change getting different perspectives. It should be gray, not black and white.
@@enskje No. Star Wars is more complicated than that. The original trilogy was about redemption. You even see it in the the original script, where Vader joined forces with the rebels to stand against imperialism and for honor. The prequels was about the rise of fascism, imperialism and the long road towards evil paved with good intentions. War. The Sequels was about the roots and the balance between the light and the dark. Family and truth, intertwined with a revisit to standing up against imperialism and again, redemption. Star Wars was never just about good and evil. It was the hero's journey drowning in complexity and always ahead of it's time. Always.
I love how they reverse the storytelling techniques of making the Rebel the emotionless, near-faceless enemy, thereby dehumanizing him the same way those techniques dehumanized Imperials in the original trilogy. They also made the Imperials have the squadron camaraderie chatter and command tension, humanizing them in return.
I like to think this detail is kind of a callback to the Tarkin comic. Tarkin challenges a young imperial to fight him in order to "toughen" him up and set an example to the rest of the imperials. But the young man hesitates and after showing him his scars all around his body Tarkin says to him, "You think you can opt out? We're fighting for survival against rebel traitors who would murder each and every one of us in our sleep and dance on our graves. Now stand up and fight or I'll kill you where you squat." It's this type of thinking and propaganda that was taught to every loyal imperial and we finally get to see it in the perspective of a tie fighter pilot. I guess a bit of it in BF2 too. You can really tell that Grey thinks these rebels fight without honor and they're ruthless.
@Roman Bellic Bro...2 billion people deliberately killed on Alderaan, the brutal treatment they had with the Wookies, the imperials looking down on non-human species (SW equivalent to racism) child soldiers (although this was just Gallius Rax on the fall of the Empire, it wasn't a widespread practice) plus, the death star was a military station crewed by military personnel, although I'm all in for humanizing Imperial soldiers and pilots without them deserting, as they are the lesser echelon, but the Empire was in general unredeemable
it's so sad that ea just sorta abandoned this game after launch because it is genuinely some of the most fun I've had in a star wars game in a long while
the PC controls killed it for me. I get that it is intended to be a flight simulator, and that a stick is the way to go, but it really sucked just not being able to fly and shoot with mouse, you had to pick between flying around or being able to kinda aim kinda straight, and it's a shame because the rest of the game was super cool.
They might as well consider it since the last Star Wars Movies were dreadful. Star Wars is like the DC Universe while Star Trek been kicking ass as of late as if they were like Marvel. At least in CG they wouldn't worry about crappy light saber fight scenes that will lead to someone get cut in half or losing a limb or two. Just voice it and let the CG animation do the rest. One of the few things EA got it right.
There’s 2 things I like about this. First, they chose to show this in the perspective of the empire pilot instead of the rebel’s. The rebels were always portrayed as the good guys and the empire were always shown as the bad guys. However, this time, the gave the “bad guy” a face so that we can see the fear and desperation in his eyes and sympathize with him whereas the “good guy” had his eyes covered by the visor and remained stoic the whole time. At the end of the day, both are pilots fighting for what they believe in. The second thing I like is that they chose to show a tie interceptor instead of just an ordinary tie fighter. Tie interceptor pilots are generally more skilled than your typical tie fighter pilots.
@@claritycontrol1530 This is why I love SWTOR. Granted, it's not the Galactic Empire but the Sith Empire, but I love that you can actually experience several full storylines from the villain's perspective.
Hoping we get a series on Disney+ showing an entire Imperial cast that DOESN'T defect. Like a some troopers going into the Academy or Imperial Navy for a means of living.
@@zacarribuffet8882 I'm still mad they didn't develop Finn as the face of troopers. We had all the story potential of humanizing Troopers, because if he's human under there then that hammers home that SO IS EVERY OTHER MOOK CASUALLY GUNNED DOWN, because war is awful and it's Star Wars... but him turning on the men he was raised alongside because what they were doing was WRONG was never really emphasized, he just shed the armor and oh cool he's a rebel now. They didn't even give him any kind of character arc; TFA set things up perfectly for him to be that lens through which we could see troopers as something other than guilt-free cannon fodder, but instead his personality just reverted to "haha, he's a coward" the very next movie.
Human face? What do you call human dude? The face of slaves, submission, conquer free people? I am surprised that they reverse the side, like rebells are bad killers, and empire are "humans" that just do their job.
Shows how intelligent and improvisational certain death can make a person because I never would have thought to use a wave against my opponent like that.

Everyone: We weren't expecting a CGI short with a compelling story that makes us empathize with a Tie Pilot in less than 7 minutes. EA: *ThAt'S tHe pOiNt SeRgEanT*
It was a flaw of Star Wars from almost in the beginning. I think too many people were involved. The Force was suppose to be like the Taoist religion. It's dualistic and mystical. The fact they keep saying there must be balance in the force also comes from Taoism. But in Taoism the Dark side is not evil. Some theory stated that The Emperor was doing this for a good reason. That he was trying to prepare the galaxy for an invasion, that Admiral Thrawn warned the Emperor of. but Disney wiped away the old books.
@Domenick Masiello Yeah, and that's partly because The Rebellion started with the CIS. both the old and new republic was run by the core world who abused the outer areas of the galaxy and was ineffective. through out the star wars timeline, all sides tolerated slavery. I think the reason why Han Solo left Leah, because the New Republic refuse to help liberate Kashyk. Also , you should understand, the force, is based on Taoism, and the dark and light do not correspond to good or evil, and considered necessary. Jedi philosophy is to bring balance to the force, not to have the light side over run the dark. Although, Star wars screw that up. .
It's worth noting that in 5:04 the Interceptor can make a tight turn but the X-Wing struggles to keep up and is forced to take a different route rather than complete the tail chase
Which it shouldn't really have in atmosphere, as it would have serious yaw problems, not as bad as a TIE fighter but still a significant impact to lateral movement. Plus that little slide maneuver would of most likely snapped the wings off the pylons
I've always liked the bad guys better in starwars. And since the game has come out I'm glad that it wasn't one of those games were you defect to the Rebellion 3 missions in.
I think one of the things I like most about this is how, on his radar, the imperial ships (the “bad guys") are blue and the rebel ships (the “good guys) are red. Really drives home the point that, from their own point of view, the imperials are the heroes of this story.
Indeed, and if one looks closely enough, one might notice that the Imperials are not killing themselves, a truly shocking and nuanced element which shows that they believe their existence to be a good thing.
5:20 I just love how the Imperial March theme gets an uplifting tone for once instead of the typical Star Wars heroic theme in the scene where the X-Wing crashed to that rock. It's as if the Empire is saying "I'm not gonna die here, Rebel scum!"
Finally, imperial soldiers who are not useless and are also human, if the villain is not powerful, it diminishes any victory of the hero. That's the way it should always be.
Make no mistake, most Imperial TIEs may not be equipped with a hyperdrive or shields, but they are fast, agile and deadly, especially in the hands of an Imperial veteran Ace pilot such as Grey.
@@dimenzed We clearly see the mastery of Grey and he is no doubt a great pilot. All I am saying is that with the amount of hits that thing got from the X-wing it wouldn't have survived the opening battle
@@siryassenius1783 I mean it all the shots it took went right through it. (i'm not saying this was always a good thing because it was a small chance it didn't hit the explosive part of the tank. I'm just saying maybe that's what happened here)
@@siryassenius1783 another thing about TIEs is that they have stronger hulls than most rebel fighters to somewhat compensate for their lack of shielding.
Man that hit me in the feels when his fellow pilot got blown to atoms after trying so hard to save her. Not everyone in the Empire was evil. There were many good men and women who only wanted to restore order and avenge those lost to the Clone Wars.
I think as one reaction video put it well the Empire is clearly bad and the Rebellion/Republic clearly good but you can craft interesting stories and conflicts out of the fact that not everyone who fights for the Empire is a bad person and not everyone fighting for the Rebellion is necessarily nice or fully good. Like I'm sure that rebel pilot hates the Empire for being tyrannical and genocidal but also takes a pleasure in or has an indifference to killing that Grey and other Imperials don't.
@@dewittbourchier7169 Palpatine's Empire is obviously evil. That doesn't make the Republic good. If anything, they were just as bad. They were just hypocrit enough to hide beneath a veneer of virtue.
I got to say, that moment when Grey's cockpit got shot and he took off his helmet was pretty cool. it showed that the pilots in the ships aren't just droids or something like that, they are actual people with their own faces and their own lives who are fighting for what they believe in. everyone has their own story and from the empire's point of view, the rebels were the ones breaking the peace, and if they wanted a war, *THEN* *SO* *BE* *IT!*
yeah, too sad that when you finally play the game, you discovere that a lot of characters were imperials. Sincerally, the game is really fun, but the story mode is very disapointed. All characters are really forgetable except from grey and shen and the content of the game is very poor (like 6 multiplayer maps and 4 spaceships on each team). Still waiting for a clone wars game instead of the "new republic´s age"
As much as I liked the Empire, I’m not that edgy to ignore how they’re wrong. Sure, having some cool-badass moments for the said character as an Imperial is awesome but for Iden Versio’s case, she did the right thing. Turning to the Light Side/Rebels has always been the entire point of Star Wars story since the Original
@@titan_tanker The Empire was never wrong. The Empire was the legal government of the Galaxy. Voted in by Senators who were voted in by the people. The Rebels were literally terrorists trying to topple the legal government without the support of the people. Many of the plots Disney created to make the Empire look worse often were nonsensical. Why would an Empire shoot itself in the foot by plundering from itself? The only thing that made sense was anger over the destruction of Alderran but even that should have been easy for media to explain away before the Death Star was announced. They would simply make the Rebels sound like Alex Jones.
They did an amazing job portraying a clean, glorious Empire on the hunt in the beginning, and then gradually transitioning to a fragmenting, diminishing force on the run for survival. It's basically the state of the Imperials captured in one skirmish.
Can we just point out how the tie rolls through the water when it crashes at 5:45 because the wings are rounded and designed to protect the cockpit? Idk that's just really cool
The wings are actually rounded to make it more aerodynamic I believe but ya I guess it doubles as some light protection. I really do like the crash physics of the TIE Interceptor

Now THIS is Star Wars. Whoever made this should have been given the honour of making Star Wars saga sequels. So many feels, a proper story and context. Very impressive visual quality and soundtrack as well. Imperials were the good guys all along!
Unfortunately, it'd be expensive as hell. Unless we're going for Rebels/Clone Wars style quality, I read that high quality CG videos like this one costs around $1 million per minute.
I love how the noise is logically from the speed the fighter is traveling at, but it also sounds like the ship itself is expressing the pain and desperation of the situation as it tries to stay intact because from the looks of things at that point, that was the end of the line
if you loved that, wait till you are in a cockpit of a TIE, the feeling is better, everyone likes the X-wings, but a true test of skill is piloting a TIE, since there isn't any life support, no shields, just you in a pressurized suit, and the hull plating to keep you from the harshness of space
What I really like is that they make him sympathetic without being good. The Empire is evil and the Rebellion is good, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have interesting characters on both sides.
1:28-1:33 really sets the tone for the whole short. Now the rebels are the faceless killers. Also the way he says “imp” is just fantastic. It gave me real “the skies belong to me” vibes.
I think you mean Gen Zs. Millennials are the largest, most skilled, and educated group ever 🤣. Boomers ruined the nation that was handed down to them. Useless Gen X are forgettable and did nothing to reverse the mistakes their parents did. Millennials actually get sh$t done!
Charlie Vetsworth Dude why the hell are you so hostile towards him over a fictional army? Calm the hell down. Besides, the Empire weren’t exactly good considering how they blew up an entire planet full of millions of innocents all because they wanted to make a point, I don’t exactly remember the Rebels slaughtering millions of innocents
@Charlie Vetsworth conservative? I assume you've never read any of the star wars books, the Jedi you consider the good guys are willing to let entire planets fall because it isn't their place to protect people but keep balance.
@Charlie Vetsworth "Clearly I'm the kind and tolerant one because I call people pieces of shit for saying they want a different perspective" also, why sensor Fuck but not Shit? Seems kinda pointless.
Coming back to this trailer makes me realize how many features in the game they revealed to us. Stuff like being able to shoot missiles out of the sky, drifting, and the HUD. Man this game had so much potential
3:26 That’s pretty cool. Star Wars movies don’t usually show when aircrafts enter the planet’s atmosphere. I’m glad they added that little detail that can make a big difference in space anatomy.
The X-Wing not having the same re-entry effect is also pretty interesting, since that ship has a shield that, in addition to doing what you'd expect it to do, also significantly reduces atmospheric drag. The Interceptor doesn't have that sort of shielding and therefore legitimately burns in the atmosphere like, well, everything that exists in the real world. In-universe consistency is just as important as realism.
@@charles-olivierdenis6633that just makes this short even better, the tension knowing the imperial's fighter isnt as capable as the X wing, but managed to beat the odds
... Holy shit, I was actually AFRAID of the New Republic here. They aren't the underdogs anymore. You can hear the frustration in the Interceptor pilots voice. Great use of all the various in-game mechanics too of course. See people? THIS is what happens when you let a passion project go forward and you don't let a corporation tell you how to make a game and how to milk the fanbase for it. I hate that I have to say it, but bravo on EA for letting this group do this game THEIR way. And because of it we get THIS. Only question though...TIEs are notorious, at least in the fiction, for being basically uncontrollable in atmo due to their huge slab-like wings. They usually have more of an advantage in space. Why drop down into "the goo"? (Aside from drama and story reasons of course)
He probably saw that the damage to his TIE was starting to spread, and if he stayed in space, he had no hope of survival, even if he wasn't being chased down. That being said, he was flying a TIE Interceptor instead of a standard TIE/LN, so it wouldn't suffer as much and allow better roll authority.
Well, I think he was trying to pass himself off as a piece of burning wreckage after pretending to be debris didn't work. Only problem is the Rebel pilot didn't fall for it.
There was an oxygen leak in the left-wing due to combat damage and I assume that would either kill him because you know... No oxygen or it would destroy his TIE fighter and he'd be stuck in space and eventually die of you know... No oxygen. Idk tho no star wars ship expert or anything.

Wasn't that Wedge Antilles who got killed?

I like that they make it hard to see the Rebel pilot's eyes because he's the "bad guy," like in the original trilogy when you never see the TIE pilots' faces to hide their humanity.
It’s easier to kill someone when they don’t have a face.

Amazing analysis my guy

Having played the game now for a fair while I'm impressed as to how close this cinematic is to the game. It's all there: the Energy distribution, energy dumps to required system, boost, drift turns, counter measures, weapons recharge, etc.
I remember the Elite: dangerous launch trailer and then other videos dissecting it: "you can't actually do this", "this is not possible", "oh if only they had included this", etc.
Having a game cinematic which actually fully embraces the game is very refreshing.
I was thinking the same thing!
Just like Prototype with it's cinematic.

@@deathsticksaddict7756 i mean they had some evidence to back that up as well, the rank and file would see the rebels as crazy terrorists.
@Roman Bellic Alderaan wants to chat with you or the other planet the new Deathstar destroyed.

@Roman Bellic Bro...2 billion people deliberately killed on Alderaan, the brutal treatment they had with the Wookies, the imperials looking down on non-human species (SW equivalent to racism) child soldiers (although this was just Gallius Rax on the fall of the Empire, it wasn't a widespread practice) plus, the death star was a military station crewed by military personnel, although I'm all in for humanizing Imperial soldiers and pilots without them deserting, as they are the lesser echelon, but the Empire was in general unredeemable

the PC controls killed it for me. Every battle has two sides, two different stories. I'm glad they're doing this, finally showing us who are the lives fighting for the Empire.

Although, Star wars screw that up. .

Finally, imperial soldiers who are not useless and are also human, if the villain is not powerful, it diminishes any victory of the hero. That's the way it should always be.
Who said we are the villians and not the terrorists ?
That's the most resilient TIE Interceptor I have ever seen
Make no mistake, most Imperial TIEs may not be equipped with a hyperdrive or shields, but they are fast, agile and deadly, especially in the hands of an Imperial veteran Ace pilot such as Grey.
@@dimenzed We clearly see the mastery of Grey and he is no doubt a great pilot. All I am saying is that with the amount of hits that thing got from the X-wing it wouldn't have survived the opening battle
@@siryassenius1783 I mean it all the shots it took went right through it. Look at the Sherman Tank In WW2 it tooks loads of shots and the bullets that went right through and because the armor was so weak it didn't splinter as much and the Drivers could get out unscathed or keep running.
@@siryassenius1783 actually you do make a good point. if he was still in space when the shot went through his hull the guy would be dead!
Imperial Pilot: Oh! Call an ambulance! Call an ambulance!
*BUT NOT FOR ME!*
Man that hit me in the feels when his fellow pilot got blown to atoms after trying so hard to save her. Not everyone in the Empire was evil. There were many good men and women who only wanted to restore order and avenge those lost to the Clone Wars.
Fun Fact: The pilot that got blown to atoms was Titan 3 which is your role call in the campaign mode

FINALLY. A GENUINE IMPERIAL LOYALIST THAT DOESN'T TURN TO THE DAMNED REBELLION!
For the empire comrade
yeah, too sad that when you finally play the game, you discovere that a lot of characters were imperials.

@MunkeyBeans1082 Just because it has an Asian protagonist doesn’t make it “woke”.
The empire: "I may be a villain in your story, but I'm a hero in mine"
Can we just point out how the tie rolls through the water when it crashes at 5:45 because the wings are rounded and designed to protect the cockpit? Idk that's just really cool
The wings are actually rounded to make it more aerodynamic I believe but ya I guess it doubles as some light protection. I really do like the crash physics of the TIE Interceptor
@@TransMera how could a tie fighter be aerodynamic it's made for space and limited atmospheric and the design really wouldn't work as far as aerodynamics in an atmosphere.
Cabnbeeschurgr well limited atmospheric is still atmospheric . I just looked it up, and it said that the bend of the wings allow for greater surface area for solar collection. So I guess it doubles as that

I would like to see an anthology series that just bounces around the galaxy following different stories of rebels and imperials.
Wowww...most impressive. Everything about this looks so good
@Victor Nikolai But don't forget majority of this game was done by Motive before EA even gave them the green light. This was a passion project they basically had to beg EA to do. Aka why it's $40 and not $60 and a few other things.
sure the cinematic looks impressive, the question is how the game play will be ?
@@CaptainSnackbar theres already tons of gameplay footage. It looks great but if youre expecting a long story campaign then its not for you. Its multiplayer focused. Only has 2 online modes, squadron battles and dog fights.

That Pilot is Japanese. It makes it epic when he takes off the helmet
This just proves how much potential there is in exploring different POVs and narratives within the Star Wars IP. I am really hoping we'll get more stuff like this, be it a live action series or an animated one, something like the Alphabet Squadron.
Yea the rebels still win and they were all fucking sociopathic of shits compared to the imperial pilots
Now THIS is Star Wars. Whoever made this should have been given the honour of making Star Wars saga sequels. So many feels, a proper story and context. Very impressive visual quality and soundtrack as well. Imperials were the good guys all along!
They could make an entire animated series about this. Very epic.
*I would pay good money for this*

Very costly and time consuming.
Unfortunately, it'd be expensive as hell. Unless we're going for Rebels/Clone Wars style quality, I read that high quality CG videos like this one costs around $1 million per minute.
An anthology would be nice.
This is perfect way to make customers still hyped
And maybe the story can actually make Star Wars fun again like Jedi Fallen Order after what Disney did to the movies...
All part of the EA ploy
5:07 the howl of the TIE's engines is music to my ears
I love how the noise is logically from the speed the fighter is traveling at, but it also sounds like the ship itself is expressing the pain and desperation of the situation as it tries to stay intact because from the looks of things at that point, that was the end of the line
if you loved that, wait till you are in a cockpit of a TIE, the feeling is better, everyone likes the X-wings, but a true test of skill is piloting a TIE, since there isn't any life support, no shields, just you in a pressurized suit, and the hull plating to keep you from the harshness of space
5:01 😩😩
What I really like is that they make him sympathetic without being good. The Empire is evil and the Rebellion is good, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have interesting characters on both sides.
Both sides have their negatives and positives, neither good or bad.

That’s pretty cool.
Space does not have anatomy XD

(Aside from drama and story reasons of course)
because there was a rebel fleet above. the frigates can't chase you down to the planet
@@nilok7 Fair point. And I do suppose that stuff about them not handling atmo well IS Legends and we see FO TIEs knocking in the goop with ease so.
