You should watch the Overwatch origin stories, some of them will make sense with how they get their abilities like how Tracer can rewind time.
I can't help but cry every single time I watch this. I caught the PTSD reference immediately, and it's such a sad thing to watch happen.
(Altho for a combat robot, its more like Pro-TSD, programmed traumatic stress disorder, which is extremely sad in its own right)
And if he didn't have his lil bird friend to help him out of it, he would have gone and butchered all those people in what we can assume is a non-militarized city.

There's soooo much more Overwatch lore! There are origin stories and comics that will give you more insight on specific characters, cinematic shorts, and a few more animated shorts such as Hero, Recall, Rise and Shine, Shooting Star, Reunion, and non-story related Blizzard promotions for their other games with Hanzo and Genji. Highly recommend the origin stories though; they're short and sweet.

One of the best depictions of PTSI(Post Traumatic Stress Injury) in a short clip. PTSI is a better way to say PTSD. An injury is something that happened to you by outside forces, a "disorder" has connotations implying there is something wrong with the person.
If we call what war(and other trauma) does to people an injury caused by what they went through, it is easier to talk about. A soldier who comes back with an injury can ask for help without feeling ashamed. A neighbor I went to high school told me that and so I try to spread the slight change in wording in hopes that it helps others.

Whenever an omnic's lights change to red, it's typically a sign that something else is trying to control them with a violent directive.
Blue = good
Red = bad
Purple = being control
Black = possesses
So, not sure if anyone else posted this, but fun fact! The castle you see in the background at 8:34 is actually Eichenwalde, the same castle from the Honor and Glory cinematic. The city Bastion goes to is Stuttgart, a fictional city in Germany, which explains why Crusaders were present during the battle flashback that Bastion saw. All of that can be looked up. Even better, if you pause when the Crusader is using his shield and notice the details, I am convinced he is most likely Balderich, the man who led the Crusaders and mentored Reinhardt, then died with glory, entombed in his armor on the castle's throne. Honor and Glory and The Last Bastion are very closely tied together, and shares the different sides of the omnic crisis, as viewed between human and omnic. Cheers from Philly!

After his reactivation, He started wandering across Europe, incidentally causing panic with his mere presence. Eventually we walks along the bottom of the Baltic sea, reaches Sweden and meets Torbjorn, who as of Overwatch 2, has started repairing and taking care of him.
The best part is that the bird appears in game and often changes with the skins and is just as animated as bastion itself! Ganymede is it's name btw~
