One time during a really tough battle/betrayal of Reaper, Ana going missing, Overwatch getting criticized all over the world and villainized, caused Overwatch to break up, *everyone thought he died. And it broke Soldier a bit too. Soldier used to be the one with the uptight morals and righteousness. Afterwards, he decided he couldn't always play by the rules to keep people safe and decided to take things into his own hands, becoming a gruff and griselled old man. He's the best tho! Due to politics of course and due to night watch actions, they were subjected to the wimps in society having doubts as to whether they were good or bad or if they were needed, so they were disbanded. Meanwhile in their world, there was an Omnic war and many other complications of evil bastards that was always killing people. Funny how that happens in real life too, the nay sayers accept the good you do as long as they think they need you then stab you in the back when they don't.
